Man, that knife is a winner, no doubt. Joe X and the guys of dutch bushcraft knives went through some efforts to get this one destroyed. BUT i never buy a knife based on a destruction test, that is doing stuff a knife is not supposed to do. I buy a knife when it's good on the things it is supposed to do. And your video did it to me, i ordered the puukko and the skrama, and i love them. Far more expensive knives stay at home now, bcs performance-wise those two are an unbeatable combo.
I enjoy all of my Terava knives and I have all they sell. Glad to hear my video helped you make a decision. Did you watch my video of the Skrama? You will be happy with both knives. Thanks for watching and the comment.
@@TXLionHeart ,why not get both,I am,140 as bigger tasks such as bigger pieces to baton or as a defense knife against large animals out in the bush,110 for just about all around tasks an carving, I got a mora kansbol as my food prep knife,I got sxb skullcrusher knife from Tops as my main larger chopper tool, always have a back up knife for whatever,
Just got my 140 version. No brainer and easily the best budget outdoors knife available period. I already have a Spyderco Bushcraft UK, a knife in a completely different league in price with premium materials and literally perfect fit and finish. Having the Spyderco I saw little need for another despite the great deal and dozens of accolades but justified it eventually seeing as theres a 140 available which would fill a gap in knife size as well as the fact I have no dangler knives. The optional dangler sheath is,to me, just as good of a deal as the blade and having a dangler option is actually really practical depending on what you may be wearing outdoors. In cooler weather I often choose outer layers that would completely cover a typical sheath, a dangler is a serious convenience if dressed this way. Back to the knife itself, if I am to be nit picky the only thing I noticed is a slightly uneven grind but that doesnt matter to me at all, if I paid $200 it would but for the money, this is just a brilliant outdoors tool. Great review, easily one of if not the best here.
Promised myself no more knives but......this is like all the things you wanted fixing on a Mora (except Mora 2000/Kansbol, those blades are outstanding for what they are) in one knife! Finnish kit is outstanding too.
Lol, these guys must be innundated with a massive surge in orders. I recall the first time I ever heard of these guys, TH-cam channel Blue Mountain Bushcraft "discovered" them and made the lofty claim of finding a Mora Garberg killer and possibly the best knife under $100 and he was right. Immediately, I saw what looked to be a brilliant budget option and understood his excitement at finding this relatively unknown make. It has been cool to see this knife and other from them get a huge amount of attention ever since as the word quickly spread about it. The only downside was they sell out so quick but I finally got the email they restocked and now have mine on order! So excited to be getting one. They apparently even listened to the one slight criticism being the lack of a sharpened spine and have obviously upgraded that too. I chose the 140 after some thought. I already have an excellent Spyderco Bushcraft in the standard 4" length and, not being just a collector, I cannot afford to willy nilly buy redundant tooks so saw an opening in the larger size category of the 5" ranch and went for it. Besides, the length will improve battoning options. Its such a great package. The knife alone is incredibly cheap but they offer such a wicked sheath ,one of the best stock sheaths regardless of price, I just had to get it. Great seeing a deserving company get just rewards.
I got this knife around the same time Mike did, his video on it was good. They do have a hard time keeping it in stock, because it is such a great knife. I have the 140 too, and the Skrama. I prefer this 110 model but the 140 is certainly a great knife. The sheaths these come with are fantastic, great leather and the button retention works great. Glad to hear you were able to get one and I'm sure you are going to love it. Thank you for watching and commenting.
I love mine,I got the 140 received it Wednesday 5 days early, an got a gorgeous brown sheath with a nice wet stone, great knife an wasn't too big like I thought but perfect size for me.
Remember to take care of the original steel. It is not use "pouch and forgett". It needs oiling after a bustcraft journey. Carbon steel means it can rust...
Already owned the 140 and I have a 110 on the way. Love the blades. I'm planning on getting some of their mini puuko/skrama blades to handle up myself too.
I really like the 140 too. I ordered both of the mini's last week and should have them in about a week. I'll try to do a video on them. Thanks for watching and enjoy that 110.
I'll say I've been using this knife every weekend or chance I'm able to get out and the Garberg has been sitting in the box. I do really like the Garberg though, it carves very well, and that spine is super sharp. I just need to make myself carry the Garberg more. I think you should save up and buy this one. Thanks for checking it out Dawn.
Great review! So glad I held off on the Condor Final Frontier and picked up this beauty for LESS than the price of the Final Frontier on Amazon. Great fixed-blade knife at half the cost of the new Mora Garberg.
I never thought about using a knife as a draw blade while being stuck in a piece of wood....a lot easier and a lot more control that's an idea other than this is a great knife and I have to have one lol
I like this knife I good 90 is a great option on a knife see how much easier that lighter pine curls off when you use the spine that makes it ignite a whole lot easier when useing a ferro rod. Very good video sir.
really nice tool! A MUST! although (and forgetting for a moment the weight-bulk argument) as a southamerican I've never understood why so many insist in doing things like batoning with a nice knife ???, we always use our machetes... (even for some fine work you would normally use a swiss army knife)... No mather what I always have one with me besides my Moras... but this puuko will definitively join the team next time!
I edc a swiss army every day. I have about 20 of them that I rotate. Yep, no real need to baton with a knife this size but it is good to know that it can handle should the need arise. Thank you for watching.
I ordered mine 2 weeks and I still haven't got it yet. They told me that the company they ship with went on strike, but they said that it was shipped out in time before the strick? I have another week or two before I get it. I really want my knife for my EDC gear.
That looks like a real kick ass blade! Great review! I'm going to look into one of these. I've got the traditional curly birch handled Puuko's but I like this one!
I have an Ahti Puuko and WoodsKnife Puukko like you mention and this knife is much more stout with the full tang and wider blade. I prefer the Terävä Jääkäripuukko's. Thank you for watching and commenting.
No probs, I just looked up those knives, maybe a quick trip over there to buy one or I will wait until they are restocked for the 140mm version. Fantastic!
In your Skrama review there are three knives laying on the ground in front of you. One is the 140cm Jaakariuukko, the other is this 110, and the third was a noticeably smaller Puukko with rubber handle and maybe a 70cm blade. My question to you is can you please tell me what brand and model was this knife and can it be purchased at Varusteleka. Also will you be doing a review of that mini puukko.
That is the Pikkumusta by WoodsKnife. I bought it at Lamnia.com. Thanks www.lamnia.com/en/p/14465/knives-and-folding-knives/woodsknife-pikkumusta-finnish-puukko-knife
I know this is quite late, but why are you using the top of the knife for carving? You get a lot more control and less torque on your wrist using the first inch on the blade.
I was comfortable using that part of the blade with the curve to get more bite and my other hand thumb for control. Agree with your statement but this worked well for me here. Thank your for watching.
Damn, I can't wait to get the 110 in the mail now after seeing the review. That holds a super edge, I just noticed the finish near the spine...is that forge marks or like a stone wash
sameold77 I know I have trouble pronouncing the knife haha. But it's great. Tiny spots on the handle need a bit of cleaning up from the plastic mold but easy fix. Interesting tip grind. But overall it's solid. I'll try using it someday soon. Lots of knives to review in order. Lol

Great review! I ended up ordering one from the V Gang.. not the wooden dick one, the one without the sheath for $39.99 Can. That is the only one they had, and now that is sold out too. Cheers!

I use fluid film on carbon blades after use. Smell sheep but not harmful in any way.
