GOW 2018 is actually longer than GOW 1-3 combined. Yea you definitely need to play the original trilogy.

this game outdoes elden ring as far as emotional stakes and story is concerned. .......i can't remember crying at the end of a game

Expected that riddle to have a joke punchline at some point in the game... instead they turned it into a sledgehammer to the gut using it to put a point on Sindri's emotional state.

The way I see it with Sif is she dislikes Atreus/Loki sure, but pretty much every time we've seen her talk to Thor it's about how Odin is using him and/or ruining their family. There is also an optional conversation Atreus can have with her where he warns that if she doesn't stand with Thrud eventually, she'll loose her. Sif's main concern the whole game has been her family. As much as she is frustrated by Atreus' presence she realizes how much it is ultimately down to Odin, and Thor's inability to stand up to him. At least to me Sif's "turn" made perfect sense.

Yay, you noticed the importance of the second panel right away. And if we consider all God of War games, this scene - him being worshiped and loved by everyone - is the perfect culmination for his long and painful journey throughout the games.

From what Kratos was back in his days of mythical Greece... A monster, a murderous, bloodlusting, monster fueled by rage and a need for vengeance that destroyed his home realm... At the end of GOW3 he realises it all too late once his quest for vengeance was complete, the cost and he attempts to take his own life to release the power he'd gained, he was at his peek. Within him amongst the vast amount of powers he'd obtained was hope, hope that was freed from Pandora's Box... He released it upon his realm to the people he'd condemned in the hopes they would rebuild and he fell dead... Or so we thought. To see Kratos go from that to what he is now is crazy to think about, who would thought it would of worked so well, that a monster like that could change, "be better" and go from condemning his own land to liberating the one new one he now calls home. Fighting for justice instead of vengeance, having something TO FIGHT FOR something TO LIVE FOR!!!

Mrs. LiteWeight, i can say you are the ONLY person in all the playthroughs that i saw that felt the way i did when Kratos saw himself being worshipped. Every youtuber just, passed trough like it was nothing at all. It makes me question if people really understood what happened in the whole God of War Series, including people that have played every single game. It's very weird, in a way. Maybe we are just too emotional.

This is the only dream sequence in which Kratos wakes up not in a panic. In the others he is worried about something. Worried about the future. Worried about losing his son. Worried about becoming the monster he once was again. This last dream with Faye he doesn't wake up panicked because he is ready for whatever happens next. He isn't worried about his life or death. He isn't worried about Atreus. He is just ready for whatever comes.
