      I know the screws wouldn't line up but could you ziptie the shark byte vtx in the space where the vista usually goes? Then you wouldn't need to flip the arm assembly?

    I converted my 2fiddy to Shark Byte a couple of weeks ago. You can still keep a slammed frame by 3d printing a 20x20 to whoop adapter and mounting in the rear, which is what I have done. I didn't want to mess with the height etc as it flies so good slammed and with Tommy's PIDs.

    Joshua, idk if you have a pin-vise for instances like the arm screw hole tolerance being too tight, but I cannot recommend a kit or two off Amazon enough. They come with insanely good bits, I have no idea what kind of bits they are or anything like that but they’ve made pretty short work of anything I’ve needed to drill a hole 3mm or smaller into. I know it’s not the safest thing to be cutting carbon fiber without using water and gloves and probably a dust mask on top of those safety precautions, but I thought I’d mention the fairly cheap kits that really made a difference in my experience.

    People looking to buy iFlight Beast F7 AIO FC “Banggood (version 55A)” know that the description on the website is incorrect. FC image taken from version 1.2 with MPU6000 gyroscope. In fact, in version 2, a BMI270 gyroscope is installed, which shows a frequency of 3.8 kilohertz for me. Barometer: DPS310 will only be supported in BF 4.3.0. I wrote about these violations to Banggood, but they don't give a damn.

    Thanks for this build walkthrough. Looking at many options, a digital shark byte or DJI upgrade for HD video seems to increase the overall build of an fpv by 30-40% ouch 🤑. So glad I started with analog, as there are more economical builds, but obviously at the expense of lower quality HD video.

    Looks and flies great. But having to take the FC off to change an arm is a deal breaker. More time in the air and less time on the ground is always better, I don't want to be spending too much time swapping arms out in the field.

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The frame only is like that when you have a 2 high stack which is not how it's intended to be built.

    • @BowserMG
      @BowserMG 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JoshuaBardwell I thought using a Sharkbyte board like you did was a great idea if the goal was to keep weight down to a minimum. So a 2 high stack would be the only option? There another way to mount the Sharkbyte?

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There isn't currently a shark byte vTX that will fit in this build without stacking on top of the FC. You could mount the 5R.1 vTX in the rear sideways but it would hang out over the sides and that's not ideal.

    Mount the vtx in the back using the sharkbyte adapter plate

  • @mr-huggy
    @mr-huggy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    There's a AIO mount and a 20x20 mount, you could of mounted the 20x20 version of sharkbyte with the Iflight AIO making the build easier. The frame is basically built to use only AIO's and DJI Vista which makes it a problem when you want to do things different.

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 20x20 sharkbyte vTX is not 20mm in size; it just has 20mm mounting. It would not fit in this frame unless mounted sideways, in which case it would hang out the sides of the frame.

The frame is going to be a pain if you need to replace FC OR VTX. Because the camera cage screws, and sides have to come off, just to get top plate off. arms will be easy to replace, 2 screw., even with the small motors still got some pep. built for Sunday Cruzen, BTW don't use aluminum screws 😜

      would recommend you look at the new brotherhobby 2004 motors. In terms of flight performance there isn't a ton of difference between 2203 and 2004. The new BH 2004s have a 5mm shaft.
      Outside of that, the stanfpv 2203s, tmotor 2203 or the fpvcycle 2203 motors are all good options, all made by tmotor too, the stans require some motor output limit but also work very well with a 21700 3s pack.
