Patch Note Changes. Freeze changes do not really affect the build after testing. You can not chain stun bosses, but you should be taking T15 map bosses down in one freeze anyway. If anything the build got a buff as we now get a power charge every 2-3 seconds which gets us to max charges earlier in the map. Also not died to on death effects yet!
You can put wind dancer in the spare socket using your last 30 spirit, it will give a big boost to your evasion. Quality the gem for 4 stages and you can link it to blind or pin which will trigger from the shockwave when you're hit. Another option is grim reaper which gives energy shield remnants that allows you to get double your ES which helps while mapping, I'd consider changing herald of thunder for it.
I had, once more, strayed down a path of folly with my monk. Once more, you have set me back upon the path of enlightenment. After losing my shit over a couple deaths yesterday, I decided to go hard on ES. I burned around 500k gold wrestling with respec bugs, dropping ~half of my damage to collect some ES in, I've now realized, a *hilariously* bad way. At least correcting it "only" cost a couple hundred k. Hey, at least I have an absolutely insane ES helmet I should be able to fetch a pretty penny for, and my monk is again slapping with the absolutely bonkers weapon I got out of a regal and some exalts.
Thanks for the guide. I was going back to your previous video often to help with my monk build. I'm only on act 2 with it because its a build i run with my friend. I was expecting to die a lot on the monk, but i barely died at all. I'm surprised you didn't use wind dancer. Its such a huge boost to evasion. I'm at like 80% evade. I see you put on ghost dance, thats a good one too
Really, really appreciate the guide. I agree with you about the POE2 endgame, the discontinuity from the campaign is jarring and it felt like a degenerate version of POE1 maps bolted onto POE2.
I really dislike, that you are insentevised to not do any league mechanics, due to their high difficulty spike and one portal per map, untill u are super strong. Also that there is no progression in any side atlas tree untill that point, feels so off..
I invest a bit into reduced mana cost on the tree and make sure I do not use too many support gems that multiply the mana cost. If I 6 link the skill I will probably put inspiration in as my 6th gem to bring the cost down a lot
@@FuzzyDuckzy Inspiration is a great idea. I put Primal Armament in as my 6L and while the damage is great, the mana cost is not. Here's to hoping that the Freeze nerfs don't affect us too badly.
@@billunknown9335 I just tested and did not notice a difference. The only time this will matter is pinnacle bosses when you cannot get them down in one hit, but I assume they are harder to freeze anyway. Combat Focus also got a buff so we get to max power charges much quicker and you should now have 20% more resistances across the board
Hey! Thanks for the guide. I've cleared the first act 1-3 with my own "build" (randomly clicking nodes that sound good) but I'm looking for a more structured build now. Can you explain about the charges please? I don't understand why we need endurance charges rather than power charges, please. Thanks!
Answering my own question! Frenzy charges are gained when using "Combat Frenzy". We want power charges so that's why we need Resonance. This turns frenzy -> power (not endurance as I thought).
Does the nerf in the upcoming patch affect this build? "It is now more difficult to chain-freeze enemies by reducing the amount of Freeze Buildup applied after a Freeze has been applied."
I have not checked the new patch but it should be ok as you should kill bosses in one freeze and each mob will only get frozen once. I will have to do some testing
using this, planning to change after i get my third ascendance. using ice monk that oblitirates maps and bosses when avatar is poppped. avatar + bell + unlimited charges you basically stunlock boss to death and dps is great. i think sunde route is for late game when you have that good armor with around 700+ evasion to bump up your spirit
Probably is good. I only tried it in the campaign and it sucked but I had very few sources of shock and freeze so it built up very slow. I would think going avatar and elemental pen instead of crit would work until later on, but I did find crit really useful even when you only have 40%
Cast on death effects, the circles around mobs' feet that fill up and explode, and the purple chaos homing orbs have had me screaming, quite literally at one point. These cheap oneshots SHOULD NOT EXIST in a game with such obscenely harsh punishments for death.
It looks like the next patch is removing the crystals that explode and greatly reducing the damage of the purple tracking orbs along with reducing chaos damage by 40%. This should help a lot but not sure it 100% addresses the issue
You kinda crippled shattering palm with those gems :) The skill itself is amazing if you put at least +range, blind and some dmg gem. It can instantly blind huge area. Your spirit little bit on the lower side. With 200+ you could run more auras. For someone without enough ascendancy skill points to get the Sunder, I'd grab or anoit Heavy Frost. It will let them ignore all elemental resists on any frozen mob. Or just grab pen nods and jewels instead. Btw the first jewel you showed is insane!
Thanks for the feedback I will take a look at the shattering palm gems. I did try the pen route originally but it did not feel as good damage wise and shock was noticably worse. With the new patch notes I am also wary of going the frozen route since it looks like you can no longer perma freeze the same enemy (Although this should not matter too much since most stuff dies in 1 freeze) I have just realised I can fit wind dancer in so will add that too :) Thanks
@@renediffie monk it’s easy to get crit as you can get 15% base change with a half decent staff and one node on the tree. PoE2's barely 10 days old and takes a different approach from PoE1 as intended. PoE1 has already been declared to be fully supported by GGG moving forward so there's no need to "hope". PoE2's existence should not make you, as a PoE1 purist, feel the need to be "in love with it". Just in case you felt "attacked" by my comment, I am also playing in PoE1 right now after I've brought the 3 classes I wanted to play into maps in PoE2.
