Some will say it's not even funny And there you stand, not even trying They say it is in line with the aging Sometimes noise is just your mind But the lesson is vague and the lightning Shows a deer with her mind on the moor And now something with the sun is just different Since they shook the earth in 1904 As I lower down I hear it's a message And it's 1902 telling people to get out If there was a just a way I could tell them It's been long, but you are right The singing is slow and so quiet Like the sound when you sweep off the floor And now something with the dirt is just different Since they shook the earth in 1904 When the night is young But the bridge is up Something passing by our shore The only one you can tell it to Is the only one that will know As one… Goosebumps
I'm an aspiring song-writer myself, and I can truly say that The Tallest Man on Earth has been one of my biggest inspirations. Everything from his entirely unique style of play, to his ever-poetic lyrics....he is just one of a kind
I like this version better than the one album one, I guess his type of music lends itself better for live performances. My new favorite artist, well for the next little while anyways. :)
jeg spiller mye av hans musikk på gitaren! og en ting skal han ha! han er helt sjuk på gitar å fingerspill!+ at han stemmer gitaren på forskjellige måter hele tiden! han har lært meg mang nye grep og melodier! thanks!
does anyone know the correct chords he uses, like in this video? the ones i tried looking up are not right. if any of you know, i would appreciate it. thanks
Hey, he's not using the standard tuning in this video. The original version is played capo 5, and you tune down the high e string into a high d. So its standard tuning, you just change the e. Ill try my best to write it down to you. (32020x) = Low E 3rd fret, A 2nd fret, D open, G second fret, b open, high e muted, i hope you understand what I mean! So the intro is : G (32020x), C (33220x) , you play that 2 times. He then plays G (320000) C (332010) Am (x02210) D (2x0210) as the intro. Hes using a 'hammer' when he plays the chords Am and D, so you just sometimes take your finger of the b string. Hes using this chords the whole way through the song, hes just playing a bm ( x24430) in the bridge ( and the night is looong..) You can probably figure out the makeup of the song by yourself. I hope it helped! Alex
I think you are alone on this one. For every 100,000 people that know who Bob Dylan is, maybe 2 have heard of The Tallest Man on Earth. I have answered you twice. This dude Kristian is very talented, no question, relevant today, no question. I own an album of his, I think he's great, but it's really no more than that because I am talking about a living idol.
trolling has a wide spectrum, the umbrella term for trolling generally refers to the worst cases, in reality the majority of trolling is harmless, but the minority and often the worst, most offensivee trolls get noticed. I love trolling on videogames, its great fun, also a couple of sarky comments here and there when someone has said somthing absurd is fine as long as it doesnt descend into strings of insults.im not sticking up for those really bad trolls just saying not all trolls are the same.
Matter of opinion. He doesn't write and release music anymore,he is barely relevent musically present day but he is still influentia to some folk musiciansl,he was an inovator for HIS time. Which is over. back to what I said so?
I tend to thumbs up things I enjoy and what would you classify as a good song? My comment didn't even have anything negative to say about the tallest man.
Is he actually referring to a historical event?Lawl. The only thing I can think of is the use of Thomas Edison's recording cylinder.Which, without that, we would of never had this little gem.
Goddammit, every time I try to rage on TH-cam people want to have a respectful discussion and shit... You know what man I wrote this long ass reply only to realize at the end that "this century" means since 2000... which makes your comment quite valid indeed. I apologize. Thought you were calling this guy better than Dylan or something... my bad. Though now that I think about it: Samuel Beam and Colin Meloy could give Matsson a run for his money IMO. What a great competition that would be.
dude, it was a joke. try not to take things so personal ok. life is too short, so why not chill out, be cool and enjoy it while it lasts, ok? anyway, take care and good luck in life. :)
Dear Sweden,
Thank you.
Sincerely, Canada
Im so folked up right now
I’m just amazed and a little jealous that a Swedish person can write such poetic English.
He’s swedish??? Omg
@@gleam6370yes he is
Some will say it's not even funny

They say it is in line with the aging
Sometimes noise is just your mind
But the lesson is vague and the lightning
Shows a deer with her mind on the moor
And now something with the sun is just different
Since they shook the earth in 1904
As I lower down I hear it's a message
And it's 1902 telling people to get out
If there was a just a way I could tell them
It's been long, but you are right
The singing is slow and so quiet
Like the sound when you sweep off the floor
And now something with the dirt is just different
Since they shook the earth in 1904
When the night is young
But the bridge is up
Something passing by our shore
The only one you can tell it to
Is the only one that will know
As one…

This guy changed my life

I just absoluteky love this version... i love it so much better than the album version
You can tell this guy is in it for the music. 100%
This live version is gorgeous! And he plays the guitar so hard, it's like a workout, and now he's all built up
I fall in love with him over and over again with every performance.
It's funny how I just stumble on musical gold like this. Thank you youtube and thank you Tallest Man on Earth.
I love this song and find myself quite often singing it while thinking
The sound makes me feel kind of nostalgic
So magical and earthy.

BEST. SONG. EVER.
Fantastisk låt!!!!
This guy and John Darnielle give me optimism for the future of the human race.
Such a hauntingly beautiful voice. Can't wait to hear & see him playing live tonight @Fri-Son, Fribourg
He is just unbelievable!! How was he at Fri-son?
Fanny Comba it was stunning!
I like way better the interpretation here than the studio version. Just wished the little melody around "1904" were here too.
Sooo good. Love him
Brilliant !!
wow beautiful stuff
Music is an art. There is no best or worst singer ever. You like or not it's all. I should not have to explain that. (sorry for my English)
Amazing.
saw him live, he's great.
Great. Keep it.
Great!
I LOVE IT!!!! :)

ANNND AMAZING
My freakin idol.
I dream of being this man’s drummer someday
Grandios! Vielen Dank, Mondayblues has no chance! ;)

Without a doubt, our generation's Bob Dylan.
No words.....

oh man, thank you so much! i really appreciate it :)
Alex
No problem ! I hope it helped :)
ultimate guitar version 3 is the correct tab
He has a fiery playstyle in this video compared to all his other videos
I know he's not exactly a household name, but in my opinion this guy is untouchable right now.
The pride of Sweden!
it's open C with the high string tuned down to D. so CGCGCD
and from Chile too
that strumming though

His English is amazing! I'd be damned if I ever learned Swedish that well.
The Bob Dylan of our generation.
saludos.

said the truth itself
wow.
ah, so youuuuu're the one guy that keeps disliking all the good songs!
He just released an album last year..

since he's married, can I marry his voice :D?
Anyone know what tuning he's using? I'm tuned to EADGBD but it doesn't sound quite right...
I just realized the song wasn't taped in 1904.
I can play this song on guitar :) Also, FUCKING AMAZING
although i prefer the album version, i loved this performance!
Combination of the Dustin Kensrue and Jesus.
Maybe its just that i have the flu, but this guy gives me chills sometimes ;)
Is he actually referring to a historical event?Lawl. The only thing I can think of is the use of Thomas Edison's recording cylinder.Which, without that, we would of never had this little gem.
As one. We must move
He sounds beautiful even when tuning his guitar
Anybody know what kind of pickup he's using?
love getting stoned to this tune. amazing

Reminds me of Bob Dylan !
best comment ever
I'm pretty sure that is an LR Baggs M1
Juan Mata?
how did it have nothing negative to say about the Tallest Man?
He's actually better live* (*I know in a studio it's different) but, seriously, this guy is talented. Got me a dude-crush
dude, it was a joke. try not to take things so personal ok. life is too short, so why not chill out, be cool and enjoy it while it lasts, ok? anyway, take care and good luck in life. :)
forgive me for ranking but Bob Dylan is the best hands down. ever
I am sorry to say that I actually have not, I will certainly give him a fair listen
2018??
sure
