Wow, I love the simplexity of the lyrics, arangement and finger picking all combining to create a beauty that soothes my soul and heart. My only child, my son Rory, died in a drowning last year in France. He would have so loved this song. Paul Schwartz (Rory's Dad)
only people who feel music rather than listen to music can hear the genius ensconced within this.....i played acoustic guitar for 25 years professionally and learning his music opened an entire universe of what is capable out of a acoustic guitar....some people have to get past the initial vocals but they will suddenly grow on you
today I have been very depressed. this song sums up every emotion I have felt today, spot on. my hearts learned to kill, I walk upon the river like its easier than land, hear come the tears? but like always. I let them go. love is all from what I've heard, lol but not even love can end the wars. much love everyone.
Well I walk upon the river like it's easier than land Evil's in my pocket and your will is in my hand Oh, your will is in my hand And I'll throw it in the current that I stand upon so still Love is all, from what I've heard, but my heart's learned to kill Oh, mine has learned to kill Oh, I said I could rise From the harness of our goals Here come the tears But like always, I let them go Just let them go And now spikes will keep on falling from the heavens to the floor The future was our skin and now we don't dream anymore No, we don't dream anymore Like a house made from spider webs and the clouds rolling in I bet this mighty river's both my savior and my sin Oh, my savior and my sin Oh, I said I could rise From the harness of our goals Here come the tears But like always, I let them go Just let them go Well I walk upon the river like it's easier than land Evil's in my pocket and your strength is in my hand Your strength is in my hand And I'll throw you in the current that I stand upon so still Love is all, from what I've heard, but my heart's learned to kill Oh, mine has learned to kill Oh, I said I could rise From the harness of our goals Here come the tears But like always, I let them go Just let them go

I find this from a comment on the video for "Mr. Tambourine man". I don't see Bob Dylan in him, I see the folk concept. But anyway, I really hear "Boots of Spanish Leather" in this song. It essentially has the same chord structure which is roughly G- Em - C, vs Dylan's G/C , Em7, D7/F# Really reminds me of Boots of spanish leather . Amazing tune.
Yes the rising bass from E-F#-G is central to the Boots of Spanish leather chord progression. The two pieces mesh well together and I often transition from one to the other when jamming at home.
6 People saw this genius, and their heads exploded. As their neck stumps fell over, they bumped the mouse just right to hit the dislike button. It's tragic, really.

his music instantly realised me from a 10 year writers block once I tuned my guitar all the way down to OPEN C and Capo's it is was entering another universe I never saw. I owe my music to him thank you for taking my love of acoustic guitar and connected it to my soul ....now I can pick up a guitar and turn the knobs on any direction and play and write melodies that never would have been possible
i saw him last year, it was magical. there was no stage and i sat in the first row. it was like he was playing just for me in my living room... i love that he seems to be aware of every single second of his concert.
Dylan has said, "I dont know where those songs came from." as if inspired, by a separate entity. He knows what he did early in his career, was brilliant. That kind of creativity, only happens once in a lifetime.
+Lucy Ren Meh, thanks for the opinion, but that song just doesn't do anything for me. Can't understand half of what he's saying and the melody is nothing special. "Love is All" on the other hand sends shivers down my spine even before the first word is uttered...

Trying to learn how to play this song makes you appreciate the song all over again. Absolutely no idea how he plays it and sings at the same time, unbelievable performance
This is just such an awesome performance......this bloke is amazing....blimey, songwriting and fingerstyle guitar skills that an angel from heaven must have dropped and let fall to Sweden !
I thought the same thing after hearing this song/artist last night for the first time, I love it! He's great. Awesome tone on guitar too, I like how he gets that chunky muffled clean but that nice twangy reverted highs. Nice stuff from this guy.!
that the most beautiful song that i heard this year can come from one man and not even a band blows me away, so simple yet so pure. made me pick my guitar up again.
His lyrical content and emotion driven screeches gives you chills. This mans music is the music i will teach to my children, share with friends, and have played at my funeral.

Rest his soul x
I'm sorry this happened Paul, & I pray that Rory is in Heaven now.
Sorry for your loss
So sorry. I hope you have found peace. Xxx
that's poetry, he's a near master
When he sings "Here come the tears," it really brings tears to my eyes. I love this song!
my friend laughed at this when i showed it to her... we're no longer friends

haha , ha and ha
He's Bob Dylan if Bob Dylan could sing. And this is 100x better than the album version. Bye friend!!!
Why would she laugh for a such beautiful song?… I don’t understand 🤷🏻♀️
Correct
I have listened to this song everyday for about 11 months now. Sign of a good'n.
Manly tears were shed.
J'adore, j'ai découvert par hasard. Une voix peu commune et de belles mélodies !

Leaves me speechless.
Oh how I adore this song!!!
This song makes me cry

Great!
FINALLY he's doing a show in Sweden! MOTHERLAAAAND!
He's the tallest man on earth. Shouldn't be too hard to find.
I wonder what's the story behind this song. Such a good song.
thank you gregory :D

Seems like we all have similar taste for music. So please, let's talk together like friends...
One of the most authentic musicians of the 2000's+
Ever*
Super authentic american accent.
He speaks English in an American accent. He is Swedish and learnt English in that accent.
Never heard of Josh Ritter then.

@@stevensimmons695 Im back!
Alone on an evening hike I once heard this voice echo through the Grand Canyon. Interesting to find out it came all the way from Sweden.
I have no idea what this means but I love it.
Really shows how connected we as people are
Good choice of music for Grand Canyon I'd say!
Been coming back to this for years and years now.

5 years to the day later and it's still amazing
+Devraj Roy Everything 5 years 10 15 , years on , this guys stuff is pure brilliance
It has one of the best guitar riffs of all time and incredible lyrics. Pure brilliance, as beckett said.
If I might be so bold as to say hes voice is a to the point or even slightly better than Dylans?
Pontus Nordborg I’d say for sure. I’ve always thought of Dylan as a fantastic songwriter and a great guitar player, but not a great vocalist.
I just found this guy the other day. Best misclick ever!!! His music it truly beautiful
You're a beautiful lady.
cowmagnet hahahahahahahahah
This is soooooo much better than the album version. Not that the album version is bad, but to hear someone do it better live I rare.
Keep coming back to this one.
Bob Dylan and mark knofler
I like to think that this song is about flyfishing.. in a very poetic way
erimol237 I can see it
He should do something with First Aid Kit. Think he would bring out their nuances superbly, and they only live a couple of hours drive apart. :)

Utter perfection. This song has so much emotion
He's so beautiful, so sexy, so gorgeous, so talented, so fantastic, so amazing, so stupidly awesome. Wish I could marry him.

Definitely one of my favourite songs, always makes me well up
