@@CliffsHowTo Interesting. On our system the recorded playback was fine except that exactly every 2 hours(2:47, 4:47...), the playback would skip by seconds/a minute. This condition would last for ~15 min, then playback would be fine until next 2 hour mark. We replaced the hard drive and it seems to have fixed the issue.
Yeah, if you replace the drive with one that has a higher rpm, you may need a higher amp power supply. Exactly what you need would be based on what you bought. I went through this when I replaced the drive in my TiVo. Check the specs of the drive you had, Vs what you relaxed it with. You should be able to find the proper amps on google.
@CliffsHowTo I got the Seagate Skyhawk 4TB Video Internal Hard Drive HDD. Is there a specific website that sell the exact cord I need that'll plug into the lorex box
I got a storage device corrupted message, replacing this would fix it?
Possibly. I’d try it. That’s cheaper than a new unit for sure!
What was the reason for replacing the hard drive?
The recording playback was choppy.

Did you buy it from lorex or it could be from anywhere and any hard drive?
I bought it from Amazon. Link in description.
So no format needed? Just plug and play ? Thanks
I didn’t need to
Any idea of why my HDD is not being recognized? I'm upgrading a 1TB WD Purple to a 4TB WD Purple.
Maybe too large? I think I read that the DVR will only recognize up to 2TB, which is stupid! But that may be the issue.
@@CliffsHowTo thanks, Cliff
I figured it out. It was the power adapter
Hello, yes I have the same issue the NDR not recognizing the hard disk, let me find a new power adapter Thanks
@@omarr7825 the problem seems to be a lower amperage. Hope it helps
@@Milutinovich Can you share the specs and a link to the plug you found?
What is the max hard drive size you can add?
2TB I believe
Manual says 10TB
I replaced but it still doesnt see an hdd. I hear it can be the power adapter but dont know which 1 would be the best amps

I didn’t have that issue, so I’m not sure. Try googleing the issue.
Im having the same welcome screen issue. Did you get it resolved?
