I felt so bad when reading the offer between Lupin and Harry, Harry purposely made Lupin feel absolutely terrible so that he could go to his family and see them for one last time, Harry made sure that Lupin would be with them and not him in his last hours, and I must say Harry was smart to constantly keep it as three people knowing and he made a good choice with Neville.

I wonder when Dumbledore started to suspect that Voldemort made a horcrux? I think it could have been before the Dark Lord dissapeared or just after because if he had died there would be his body in the Potters' house.

@@andrzejzborowski4920 Dumbeldore answers this in HPB
Dumbledore paused for a moment, marshaling his thoughts, and then
said, “Four years ago, I received what I considered certain proof that
      Voldemort had split his soul.”
      “Where?” asked Harry. “How?”
“You handed it to me, Harry,” said Dumbledore. “The diary, Riddle’s
diary, the one giving instructions on how to reopen the Chamber of
      Secrets.”
“I don’t understand, sir,” said Harry.
“Well, although I did not see the Riddle who came out of the diary, what
you described to me was a phenomenon I had never witnessed. A mere
memory starting to act and think for itself? A mere memory, sapping the
life out of the girl into whose hands it had fallen? No, something much
more sinister had lived inside that book . . . a fragment of soul, I was almost
sure of it. The diary had been a Horcrux. But this raised as many questions
      as it answered.
      ...
“Then you told me, two years later, that on the night that Voldemort
returned to his body, he made a most illuminating and alarming statement to
his Death Eaters. ‘I, who have gone further than anybody along the path
that leads to immortality.’ That was what you told me he said. ‘Further than
anybody.’ And I thought I knew what that meant, though the Death Eaters
did not. He was referring to his Horcruxes, Horcruxes in the plural, Harry,
which I do not believe any other wizard has ever had. Yet it fitted: Lord
Voldemort has seemed to grow less human with the passing years, and the
transformation he has undergone seemed to me to be only explicable if his
soul was mutilated beyond the realms of what we might call ‘usual evil’
      . . .”
“Yes indeed,” said Dumbledore, and he raised his blackened, burnedlooking
hand. “The ring, Harry. Marvolo’s ring. And a terrible curse there
was upon it too. Had it not been - forgive me the lack of seemly modesty
      - for my own prodigious skill, and for Professor Snape’s timely action
when I returned to Hogwarts, desperately injured, I might not have lived to
tell the tale. However, a withered hand does not seem an unreasonable
exchange for a seventh of Voldemort’s soul. The ring is no longer a
      Horcrux.”
“But how did you find it?”
“Well, as you now know, for many years I have made it my business to
discover as much as I can about Voldemort’s past life. I have traveled
widely, visiting those places he once knew. I stumbled across the ring
hidden in the ruin of the Gaunts’ house. It seems that once Voldemort had
succeeded in sealing a piece of his soul inside it, he did not want to wear it
anymore. He hid it, protected by many powerful enchantments, in the shack
where his ancestors had once lived (Morfin having been carted off to
Azkaban, of course), never guessing that I might one day take the trouble to
visit the ruin, or that I might be keeping an eye open for traces of magical
      concealment.

I remember going trough the book and begging Harry in my head to accept Lupin's offer to come along... The final book is so dark and tragic. Anything that could be a help in any way seemed like a blessing. Harry Potter is a story that simply becomes more tragic the more you think about it. How Dumbledore was playing a painful game of chess behind the scenes... Knwoing each movie could and probably would get people killed. All to just stop evil... Even as he was dying himself he kept playing. And then you got Snape... A man who probably hated Harry... But still managed to find a way to love him to honor his love. He legit died for Harry to honor Lilly. I do prefer film snape to book snape. But i'd like to think that book Snape is mostly the same Snape only more stubborn as to admit the good in him. And then you got Harry... Wich went along in the dark. Not really knowing what he was doing until the very end. But then just accepts it. Like ''Ok, i have to die''. It's a great story. And i'm so thankful for the great story J.K. Rowling has given us. She made so many of our Childhoods. When the final film came out it really did feel like ''Now, i'm in the next phase of my life''. It was like going from Childhood to adulthood. And for that i'll allways be greatful to her.

Idk why Dumbledore is seen in such a negative light. He was fighting Voldemort, he didn't have to. He could've run and hide but he didn't, he also didn't care if he died for the cause. As for the "manipulation", Dumbledore knew how to kill Voldemort and had to keep it a secret otherwise he would've never been defeated. We aren't just talking about an evil villian, we are talking about an IMMORTAL evil villain. If it wasn't for Dumbledore, Tom Riddle would've ruled the world forever.
I agree that it was painful what happened to Harry, and he wasn't given all the facts by Dumbledore BUT they did get the job done. And after Harry finds out the complete truth in the end he realised that this was the only way they could've won and he FORGAVE Dumbledore for keeping him in the dark.

Dunno, always made sense to me considering Voldemort was exceptionally good at legilimancy. Most other Order members were in some capacity on the front lines and always at risk of capture or being spied upon while Harry was viewed as someone who was just being protected. If he is off the grid for an extended period of time it makes sense, he is hidden, like the Potters before. However if someone like Lupin, McGonagal or any myriad of Aurors were to disappear like that, it means they are working at something.
On another note, Harry always knew that nobody really knew what Dumbledore was up to so it's possible he had a clear understanding that he might not even himself realize the whole reason why so few had to know. I'd imagine Snape also knew about the Horcruxes given he treated Dumbledore and just so happened to deliver the one thing that could destroy them, so it's not like it was just those three that knew.

Snape must have also known about the horcruxes. He knew about the ring that cursed Dumbledore's hand, and he new that Harry also had to die. It was OK for Snape to know, since he was a master at occlumency. But he also couldn't directly help hunt horcruxes in order to be a double agent. He did help though, by sending the Sword of Gryffindor (which can destroy them). So I think Snape was the only other person who knew.

How else does one come back from an apparent death? There's a library full of magical knowledge right there at Hogwarts. Did no other teacher have any curiosity? Given that Harry didn't know he was magic, I don't believe he would have become an Obscurus. Also, Obscurus typically arise while the host is quite young, rarely living past the age of 10. Harry was already 11 at the beginning of the story, so the chances of him later becoming an Obscurial is low.

He thought the best way was for Harry to destroy all the Horcruxes, including himself, with no one else knowing bar Snape, that way no one would get in his way and minimal chance of Voldemort finding out. • @zalvian22
    @zalvian22 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Why does this merit a theory? The books literally tell us exactly why the Order didn't help Harry. Dumbledore feared the Order had already been penetrated and that Harry shouldn't tell anyone what he was doing. Not to mention the fact that until Harry retrieved Slughorn's memory of his conversation with Tom Riddle, Dumbledore didn't know for sure a horcrux was involved, he only suspected it, and obviously if he didn't have strong evidence of what (and more importantly where) they were looking for, they'd only stand to alert Voldemort to the danger if the Order ever did look for anything.

  • @LyleFrancisDelp
    @LyleFrancisDelp 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

One might ask why DD didn't include the Order in on the knowledge of horcruces. The more people that knew, the greater the chance that VM would know they were being sought out. He would simply hide them in more unattainable places, making the job of locating them even more difficult....such as simply depositing one in the Marianas Trench.

I think as well, that if the older wizards in the order of the phoenix knew about voldemorts horcruxes, one of them might have realised that harry was also a living horcrux, albeit an unintentional one. Especially as they knew about the connection with the wands, and harry picking up voldemorts thouhts. Think this was another reason for dumbledore to keep it quiet, given that harry was not supposed to realise it himself until the end.

Hello Harry Potter Theory. I have written a long comment but please read it all. I just wanted to give some suggestions for a video (I took the video ideas from the whole comment section and wrote them in my comment. I have a few ideas of my own in this list to, though).
    A. You can make a video on the mistakes in the books, meaning a few mistakes done by JK Rowling while writing the books. I spotted quite a lot while reading the books. I don't remeber all but I will tell one so that you can get an example: In the first book, Hagrid said that Harry's parents were Head Boy and Girl while their time at Hogwarts. But then in the fifth book it is said that James was not a prefect. I know they don't relate but it's weird, right? Not being a simple prefect but suddenly being Head Boy??
    B. If the Dursleys would have kept Harry away from the Wizarding world, would Harry have become an Obscurial?
    C. Was Harry a death eater?/How would the story have changed if he would have been one?/Could Harry have been a death eater under cover?
    D. Who all did Voldemort kill to create his hocruxes?
And great video by the way!! I love your content! Please make the videos suggested.......and it would be totally great if you could also include the example I wrote if you make a video about the mistakes in the books.!

One thing I didn't get is why the locket "horcrux" in the half blood prince was so difficult to obtain, it weakened Dumbledore severely. The golden trio would of has no chance obtaining the locket if it didn't get stolen beforehand and the actual locket was still in that cave. Even though getting the other horcruxes were hard, they were never as brutal as that.

By telling Harry to keep it between the three of them, Dumbledore unwittingly cut off Harry's use of Order members for gathering intelligence. For example, while planning to break into the Ministry, the trio could only work from the information that they gathered outside of the Ministry. It would have been better if they could have gotten Arthur, Tonks, and/or Kingsley to them how things were inside of the Ministry these days. They could have had worked out a much better plan, and could have still kept Sirius' House by doing so. Harry would have given the Order members a sense of purpose and rebellion by simply going to work daily and occasionally reporting it. As it was, most of them felt that there was nothing for them to do. That Harry's rescue from his house was their final mission. The Order was leaderless.

I think frankly its a balance between how many to tell and how many not to. I think JKR went too far with only 3 of them any the wiser but you know how word of mouth spreads very fast and Voldemort is a very accomplished Legilimens. In canon, no wizard other than Snape (I think all the tier 1 wizards (Dumbledore, Voldemort, Grindewald) are implied to be good) are accomplished in Occlumency. Occlumency is an obscure branch of magic after all.

What I am interested in is, if Dumbledore couldn't start to look for Horcruxes sooner. He had the diary since the end of the Chamber of the Secrets and he probably figured out what it was soon after. So that means he had approximately 2 years to look for other Horcuxes, before Voldemort returned. I imagine it would have to be way easier to search for Horcruxes without Voldemort around.

  • @Daeomyn
    @Daeomyn 4 ปีที่แล้ว

The thing you missed was that Harry, being a horcrux himself, couldn't die unless Voldemort did it himself. Dumbledore had lots of time to think about the prophecy and probably reasoned that Harry would be the only one guaranteed to survive until the very end when it was possible for Voldemort to be killed. Add to that Harry's mental defence of Love and friendship that both repelled and pained Voldemort when he entered Harry's mind during the battle at the ministries, he was the only one safe from Voldemort's Legilimency.

  • @AliAngelpie

Hocruxes can be anything so sense Harry can actually detect which object is a hocrux when he’s in the general area makes things different . But then again the order of Phoenix is quite large and if all of them went searching there wouldn’t be enough on the front lines actually fighting death eaters and doing other tasks . It would also be quite suspicious and Voldemort would probably catch on that they’re all hunting his hocruxes .

  • @tiffanypersaud3518

Thanks for the vid. I started disliking Dumbledore while reading the books, in how “tidy” and “elegant” his logical plan was to use the “swine [already set] for slaughter”. Harry was just a teen, as was Ron and Hermione. They would have no support in their secrecy.
Harry, like a Gryffindor, is so loyal, even to a fault, that he went with it, almost without question. I wished there was more conflict and doubt within him about Dumbledore, as to whether Dumbledore cared for him, or whether Dumbledore treated him as a valuable Chess piece, a knight that advanced through ranks/obstacles, to be sacrificed at the opportune time. Personally I wished so because Harry grew up as an emotionally abused kid, and I always admired his uncanny sense of self-worth despite that. A kid’s sense of self-worth can become so eroded due to abuse that the effects can even linger into adulthood, and they can continue to allow themselves to be used by others. Was Harry doing this? I’m not sure.
Then I remembered the choice. Harry’s mother chose to shield him. And Harry chose to shield the others at Hogwarts. It was his choice that made things make more sense to me.

It's implied that there was also another reason not to involve the Order. When he was a headminister of Hogwarts, Dumbledore removed all the books containing information about horcruxes. He believed them to be the darkest of magic and did not want anyone knowing how to make one. And it worked, as proof that even Tom Riddle had to ask Slughorn. Letting me people in on the task would mean more people later on knowing what it takes to make a horcrux so that knowledge would keep living.

Its possible Dumbledore wanted every magical student at the school to reduce the risk of an obscurial considering his sister and Credence were one.

lupin prolly wanted harry to tell him about the secret and to go with him in order to protect them bc in the past when the potters were hiding they made peter the secret keeper bc lupin wasnt there, so i think he kind of felt guilty in a way and he didn't want the same thing to happen now with harry. Bc if he was the one keeping the potters secter they wouldnt be killed.

Love your videos, but your video pointed out something interesting. You said that the first horcrux was the diary, and at first I thought, wait, that’s not right. Because in the Half Blood Prince, in Slughorns memory of Tom, he already has the Gaunts ring. I thought I was implied that he made the horcrux with the murder of the Riddle family he framed on Morfin. But then I also recall Dumbledore says something relating to the diary (also in HBP) that implies was the first one he made. Something like he became less careful with the diary after he made more, which is why he left it with Lucius and told him the diary would open the chamber of secrets. It makes it confusing because in Slughorns memory, he’s not asking about the horcrux itself, but he wanted to know what would happen if someone made more than one. Which leads me to believe, since he had the ring, he killed the Riddle family first, and after getting the information from Slughorn, killed Myrtle and made the second

    I have a question/video idea,
We know that Harry's wand was the 4th most powerful wand after Voldemorts(it's maybe equally powerful), Dumbledore's original and the Elder Wand. Harry Potter is the true master of the elder wand but doesn't use it. So there are 2 more powerful wands, Now the question is what happend with Dumbledore's original and Voldemort's original wand after they both adopted the Elder wand.
And the next thing is after Dumbledore, Voldemort and Snape die does this mean that Harry Potter is the most powerful wizard a live? Because if you think that Harry is second tear wizard only surpast by Dumbedore, Voldemort, Grindelwald and probably Snape(who is recongized as second tear by many Potter head's).
Harry is using his own trusted wand so that makes him the most powerful wizard Dumbledore and Voldemort are destroyed) a live or is there someone/ some wand who/that I overlooked?

The excerpts that were included in this video do an excellent job at highlighting HOW MAGNIFICENT Rowling is a writer. My favorite one was the one between Harry and Professor McGonagall (02:27 - 03:17) "...I don't think so, Professor Dumbledore never told me to stop following his orders, if he died". That line for some reason struck me, left me without a breath. So beautifully and brilliantly written, this is why I am a fan!

Can you do a video on what happened to all the prophecies that were broken in the department of mysteries in the order of the Phoenix? Were the prophecies still true even though being broken ?

In my headcanon Dumbledore wanted to prevent a possible new Voldemort to rise by knowing about Horcruxes. Horcruxes are one of the darkest and worst kinds of magic. Both the victim and the caster will suffer in the end.

Great video! But What if voldemort wield the elder wand while fighting with dumbledore?what would happen?

@Oof Oooof69 first of all dumbledore didn't won against voldemort while wielding the elder wand, and voldemort is not a joke,so l don't think it's that easy to conclude

@Oof Oooof69 you are saying that if dumbledore desired to win(there is no way dumbledore would fight to kill voldemort or anybody, dumbledore would not cast a killing curse on some one because he was against the idea of unforgivable curses.dumbledore would not do it, he clearly knew voldemort is immortal but didn't knew why at that time.what dumbledore did at the ministry was quite clever,he knows what voldemort is capable of and he was clearly prepared to face him, some of us can argue that dumbledore can't pull of the unforgivable curses, but the fact is he doesn't need to,that's why I believe Albus is the greatest wizard of all time)
He would have done it,I think dumbledore fought with voldy with multi purpose thoughts,as you say to show the ministry, and why not if get a chance to dis arm voldemort, you should realise that if albus managed to disarm his opponent, there is a good chance the whole, battle would end right away,so why shouldn't he fight,I am pretty sure he did,and we shall not underestimate the power that voldemort holds,in some category we got to admit he is even deeper than our great Albus dumbledore.(it doesn't mean he is greater than dumbledore)
