    Would you or do you use filters on your action camera? I'm intrigued to find out, if people froth these things or not.

      Hello and thank you for your video. I found a solution to use the PL filter with ND8, ND16, ND32, etc. filters....
      The advantage of Telesin filters is that they are placed on top, but the disadvantage is that it is impossible to combine two of them.
      The advantage of Freewell filters is that they screw in place of the original protection but again, it is impossible to combine two.
      So I found a compromise.
      I bought a Freewell PL filter and 3 Telesin ND8, ND16 and ND32 filters.
      So instead of the original protection, I put the Freewell PL filter and it stays fixed all the time. And above, I can put the Telesin ND filters.
      What do you think?

  • @Robertsson
    @Robertsson 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I have the same exact filters (same boxing) and I can say these are easy to use, and are cheap as well.
    Using them on a GoPro Hero 10.
    Strangely, not in all situations are there differences when using the CPL filter.
    Is there a rule on how to position it on over the GoPro lens? Like: CPL inscription up, or with the TELESIN inscription up?

    I have the freewell set of 4(8,16,32 and Cpl) and the freewell nd1000. I really like what you can do with them but I have rarely used them for no other reason than finicky. The freewell ones you need to remove the gopro lens and put on the freewell. Not a big deal but I have found on the go it adds a risk of losing a lens cover. Yours look like an easier option to use.

    • @RalphMayhewPhotography
      @RalphMayhewPhotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah there’s a few companies out there making filters like these. My experience of Freewrll in the past has always been good. Being able to push the Telesin over the top of the lens and not expand the size of the whole unit by too much is really handy.

      You point out a problem with the Freewell filters (it's the same with Polar pro), we have to screw and screw again each time we change the filters and we risk wearing out the Gopro system.

    • @RalphMayhewPhotography
      @RalphMayhewPhotography  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've not played with the G9-4 but looking at it, I would be cautious if the two can work with each other. I think the lip of the cage around the lens mount would not making the application of a filter possible.

    Is there a way to use nd filters with the gopro 11 and get motion blur with stabilization on without getting the notorious jitters in the video that occurs when shooting at a fixed lower ss other than turning stabilization off and adding stabilization in post editing?

    • @RalphMayhewPhotography
      @RalphMayhewPhotography  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wouldn’t you just use a low ND and shoot with hypersmooth on? 🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @justinspirational
      @justinspirational ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ralph Mayhew Photography if you're going for motion blur the ss is low (around 1/48th-1/120th) and as far as I've heard hypersmooth doesn't work well at such lower ss (only works well at higher ss) and creates jitters in the video at such low ss making the footage unusable (and why people turn off hypersmooth off when shooting like that and add stabilization in post

      you need to have a gimbal for it to work

      Use 4x the amount of shutter speed instead of 2x. Its an optimal balannce. For best performance get a gimbal.

    Anyone knows why are these telesin nd filters cheaper than the rest?Is the quality worse or something

    • @RalphMayhewPhotography
      @RalphMayhewPhotography  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My experience is the quality is good 👌 there’s a huge markup on some filters and different filters use different tech and different glass resulting in different price points.
