Cobra Kai is an American martial arts comedy-drama streaming television series and a sequel to the Karate Kid's original movie directed by Robert Mark Kamen. The series was created by Josh Heeld, John Harwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, who repeated their roles as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence in the 1984 movie The Karate Kid. Thirty-four years later, the Cobra Kai examines the story of "Miyagi Verse" from Johnny's point of view, his decision to reopen the Cobra Kai Karate Dojo, and the resurgence of his old competition with Daniel. The Cobra Kai also plays Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Mariduena, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni Dechenzo, Martin Kove, Vanessa Rubio and Peyton List. This series boasts high ratings on both TH-cam and Netflix and has received widespread positive reviews from critics. The third season was also nominated for an "Outstanding Comedy Series" at the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards. The first season started on TH-cam Red in 2018 and the second season continued in 2019. Initially a quiet and bullied student, Eli joins Cobra Kai Dojo and gains confidence after learning to "flip the script". He eventually joins Miyagi-Do and becomes the 2019 boys division champion in the 51st Annual Karate Championships. Demetri Alexopoulos is a main character in the Netflix series Cobra Kai. He is portrayed by Gianni Decenzo. After being the victim of bullying for years, Demetri joined Cobra Kai Dojo alongside his friend Eli, though Demetri left after disagreeing with the dojo's ethics. He later joined Miyagi-Do Karate in the hopes of learning self-defense. He often serves as the moral compass of the group, believing that violence should be a last resort. Who Was Right?
