I was arguing with a guy about the whole childfree/legacy thing. He was telling me that I was selfish for not wanting a legacy and I asked him what his great grandmother's name was. Then he got all mad

Idk my great grandmothers name on my father side. My grandmother was a slave, was bought with money and brought to America by her ex before my grandfather. She had 16 children and my dad was like the 14th. He is a lot older than my mom. So naturally idk if I would have ever met my Great Gran on my dads side. My great grandmother on my mom side name is Elizabeth.

Just compare how much sperm cost in sperm bank and how much surrogacy cost.
I can’t believe that these men try to pressure those women to have children.
But it’s not all that bad thankfully, my man for example doesn’t want to have children and we are both confused why would anyone pressure women to have them, just find a woman who wants children and leave childfree woman alone.
There are also men there who say, I love you too much to put you through that risk, since it is still risky to have children, you still can die from it even today

The guy was a little bit all over the place. I agreed and disagreed at times but the part where he said it’s not shocking that men are attracted to younger women because their faces are smoother etc, it’s like they don’t get that they’re advertising that we’re objects. Sure a 40 yr old can be physically attracted to a 20 yr old but you’re not mentally attracted to them. You have nothing in common. That’s why it’s off putting. Also the older I get the more 18 to 25 yr olds look like actual children to me so I’m more suspicious of men like that now.

They got rid of men having multiple wives because most men would never be able to compete with the popular rich man. So it's one man, one woman so more men can compete. Men think it's women who want monogamy, but it's really men who fought for it.

    • @CharlieApples
      @CharlieApples 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

Men with multiple wives back in the day weren’t popular, they were just rich nepo brats with powerfully and wealthy fathers. Why would they be popular? Other men resent them for “hoarding” marriageable women, and women resent them for marrying other YOUNGER women and expecting the “old” wives to just accept that she has to make room for and play nice with the teenager your husband is porking in your own bed.

Women will continue having no kids, as long as the men don't step up. The happiest marriages these days are the ones, where the men also clean and cook at home, one parent wakes up and let's the other one sleep in and next day of the weekend for example it's the other way around. As long as men give the bare minimum raising kids and house chores and emotional labour, women will continue to opt out. Rightfully so. 11:31 I don't think it has anything to do with "biological wiring". Marriage since the beginning of time have always benefited men and was never for love and men carried on those old beliefs. Marriage back then were for carrying on wealth and power and control between two kingdoms, etc. They didn't care who the woman actually was-only what she brought to the table and could help them get what they want.
Women nowadays have finally woken up to the scam of marriage (and yes, also not wanting to get pregnant and deal with the pain, costs, mothering alone, etc), which is why they aren't swiping on a LOT of men because a LOT of men still have self-reflection to do to see how the patriarchy isn't on their sides either and how toxic masculinity is damaging, not only themselves, but to the others around them too.

Yeah, it gives the same energy as when people used to say black people were "biologically" meant to be slaves. The only way biology plays into it is men have always been physically able to overpower women and children. That's all it is. The more physically powerful were in the position to make all the rules, and had the strength to force it.

I've wanted to change my name since I was a child. My last name is actually quite rare for black folks. I've never even ever seen/heard of a wyte person who has the last name either. So, I like that aspect. But then, I can easily make my own name that's just as rare.

All I’m going to say is women who are happy and content on their marriage and with their children, a big part of that is because of the husband and father. When he is doing his part, women and children strive and the family unit is strong. When he is not - well you see broken families everywhere, mothers and women and children who lack trust in any man. Men play a vital role for women who may want children and marriage. If the man ain’t right, no longer are women just accepting him cause he is a man. I don’t blame women for having high standards- in today’s world they have to. 🙏🏽😌

I'd like to address the white guy and scripture. The behavior of the people mentioned in the OT are not recorded for you to follow them or to use as the law. The Bible is set up like a text book with questions. First, you are to read the laws given by the most high IN THE first 5 books and then determine who followed the instructions provided. It is a test to determine if you will obey God. Deuteronomy 13:3.
Now regarding David and having multiple wives. Yes it states that God said he would've given him more, BUT God already established the law that states a king shall not have more than one wife. Deuteronomy 17:17. Not only that but David had sinned by having more than one wife and anyone could've called god out on that for him to clarify like he has with other laws. And if you look at what happens when the men of the bible had more than 1 wife, they suffered for it. So the examples are given for you to learn why God establishes his laws and what happens when they are not obeyed.
For regular men, God already established the law that they are to have 1 wife and cleave unto her. Genesis 2:24. So no women do not have to accept polygamy marriesges. It is optional bc there are women just like today who do not mind sharing a man. Exodus 21:10. And if the first wife accepted the husband having another wife but then changes her mind and wants him to get rid of her, she has that right and God will command that man to obey her voice just like he did with Sarah and Abraham when she told him to get rid of Hagar and her child.
So the lesson is that men are to have 1 wife but if the parties involved agree upon inclusion another wife, then he can have one but only if he is able to provide for them all without diminishing their finances.

This is so true. I didn't want kids, doctors said i was infertile. My ex refused to wear condoms and I stupidly stayed with him. He said if we naturally have a kid, that's what nature wants. I ended up with twins. Life immediately changed forever. Then got pregnant with a third after he sabotaged my BC method of ovulation tracking. It's all about THEM. WE don't actually want them most of the time.

The thing I find the craziest is western women who marry Korean men and take their last name! In Korea it is not a thing to take your husband's last name. Yet western women often do this. They'll conform to everything the husband wants on the basis that it's his "culture" meanwhile he's just disrespecting her yet she desperately wants his last name despite it not even being cultural to do so. I'm assuming it's cause they want a Korean last name or like the idea of being owned or something idk.

Everyone does not need children, nor should everyone be around children. Many people are abusive, have no patience, and are just not good for children to be around. I’m saying this as a person who was physically and mentally abused in preschool and as an ex early childhood teacher who was very successful. Protect the babies, y’all.

The problems with what the guy was going on and on about…in the Bible a man and a woman “laying down” together is considered marriage in the eyes of the Bible god. So, every time a dude sleeps with you, he’s your husband. How many husbands have women had in their lives? And how many wives have the men had? Gene Simmons of the band Kiss was off the charts.
