@@andrettransformeryou can still use the brakes if that were to happen. And it was only on cybertruck. If you know you had cybertruck before recall just take the pedal cover off easy problem solved.
I had some of the same problems as you on delivery day. I ended up with 11 problems on my list but this car is still SUBSTANTIALLY better than my 2019.
I find it somewhat comical that people in the comment section are proving what I said within the first 10 seconds. It’s definitely not nitpicking that my TURN SIGNALS don't work. You can like or even love Tesla and still be critical on their shortcomings. Being a yes men doesn’t help the company. It’s because of people that are willing to be vocal about their criticism that we got this MUCH BETTER built refresh. And lastly, the car overall is great and i love it as my daily, don’t listen to the Qs that will try to convince you otherwise. I don’t gain anything from talking negatively. I am just genuinely relaying my experience.
Tesla bots, cultists and shareholders will defend Tesla till their last breath. Clearly there is some things that aren't "in spec" on your brand new performance. The turn signals issue is just too funny, they should have kept the stalks or at least have buttons that don't stick, kinda dangerous and frustrating. Anyways, hope you get those issues fixed and enjoy it for what it is and don't focus too much on the bots and cult.
You are helping to perpetuate the mainstream media FUD that Tesla build quality is garbage compared to other vehicle manufacturers. That’s why we are criticizing your video. Nitpick any other car and your list will be much longer.
@@JremiahJones I am not a yes man, just someone who appreciates Tesla. I also am sick and tired of people constantly bashing the most innovative company on the planet. And finally, I am not a whiny spoiled kid.
I have about 400 miles on my 2024 M3P and have had it for a week. I’ve not had any issues with turn signals or other features that I’ve noticed. Only thing that I found wrong on delivery was just a minor scratch/chip on the rear bumper diffuser
For the squeaky arm rest I found a solution! You can easily take it apart by pulling onto the plastic section underneath and separating the two. Then just add RTV silicone to all the connection points and it's done. Those are the reason for that squeak. Mine is dead silent now.
I went to the service center and they said it was a minor issue and they were not prepared to help me fix it.If possible, I hope you can make a video. I believe people would like to see how it is done. Especially for those of us who have no experience.
A good example of fixing something and breaking something else is: On both of my vehicles, not Teslas, when they went in for air bag recalls panels were not perfectly put back properly, rattles in the dash emerged, on one vehicle that I could visibly inspect behind the glove compartment was a missing screw. Never take your car in for any super minor issue if you can help it. Mechanics are mostly very heavy handed in most dealerships and will take shortcuts to speed things along.
Picked up my 2024 LR about two weeks ago and I have none of the issues you mentioned on this video. Even the center control seems pretty solid on my car. There was two VERY small paint “dimples” that you really have to look for to actually notice. One of which I noticed on delivery day and the other that my ceramic / tint guy pointed out. But to be totally honest, these are so damn small I’ll probably have pain chips bigger than these two imperfections. No big deal. I find this build so much more solid than the 2021 LR I gave back on a lease, and that car didn’t have really any paint issues or bad panel gaps.
I have the refreshed M3 LR and it has been more than 3 months and the car is perfect. No squeaks rattles or creaks. Build quality is much better than prior. So far my turn indicators on steering wheel work fine no issues as of yet. I love my car it puts a smile on my face every time I get to drive it
I received my car ten days ago, and instead of having it delivered to my home, I went to the dealership to pick it up. I thought it would be easier to complain if there were any issues with the car. When I arrived, there were two Model 3 Performances, and one of them was mine. I inspected the car multiple times, nearly for an hour, while other buyers of Model 3 and Model Y, who came later than me, drove their cars home. I determined there were no issues and drove home. But when I go over bumpy roads, I hear a rattle sound from somewhere on the passenger side, haha. And I just checked the taillight after watching your video, and my car also has a gap on the passenger side... Fortunately, there are no other issues. But I can't figure out exactly where the rattle sound is coming from. I usually always listen to music when I drive, so it doesn't bother me much, but when my kid falls asleep and I turn off the music, the noise is really annoying! I hope I find and eliminate that noise. And I wish all your issues get resolved smoothly.
Tesla is well within industry standards at price point. If content creators generated a large volume of views from scrutinizing the other auto manufacturers, this would become clear. What we have is an online industry of polarization that produces an inordinate amount of attention. There's a nearly endless stream of people that can't wait to be brutally honest about their recent $40k to $100k Tesla purchase.
I took deliver of my Ultra Red M3P on 6/25. It was a great experience. The only issue with the car was a scratched front skid plate. It had to happen when they drove the car off the truck. I found it because I used your inspection checklist. I have an appointment for the replacement.
I went to pick up my M3P last week. Before I walked out to inspect it, the sales rep told me they found “a scratch” on the bumper. It turned out to be a 5 inch wide dent with a dozen little scratches on the dent. I declined delivery because it would have to be sent to a body shop to replace the bumper. I was pretty upset Tesla didn’t tell me ahead of time before I drove 2 hours to pick it up. The back of the car was also pretty dirty (white exterior) so even if it had more blemishes it would be hard to tell. Now I’m waiting for another VIN, but don’t know the timeline. I’m curious if others would have declined to accept delivery or just opted to have the bumper replaced by Tesla. Declining is a huge hassle with outside insurance and financing because they were both based on the prior VIN.
There is no way that I would want anything repaired and/or repainted on my brand new car, because years later the new paint never wears the same as the factory paint does.
I took my 2019 Model 3 into a SC back in March and they had a 2024 Model 3 that they were using for test drives. I was able to drive around in it for 30 minutes and within that time, I noticed the exact same problems you highlighted in this video regarding the turn signals. Sometimes they worked, sometimes they didn't. It was like a "fun" mini-game. Alongside the no stalks, any interest I had in upgrading disappeared pretty quickly. If I decide to get a newer one, I'll either get a 2023 or wait until they do another refresh in the future in hopes they roll back some of these bonkers design choices.
Took delivery of my new 2024 Model 3 RWD (not Performance) in July. 1) The Frunk hood looks misaligned. Passenger side has a bump up at the lip and there's more of a gap on the driver's side than the passenger. I saw it at the dealership but I was so excited that I figured I'd deal with it later. 2) The driver's door doesn't feel solid when I shut it. It's like it hits and then rattles a bit before resting. 3) There's some rattling noise on the passenger side when I drive over slightly rough roads. I'm way less concerned with this though. I'm new to Tesla so maybe these issues are "within spec" but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask. Unfortunately, my appointment is 7 weeks out. Never had to wait that long for a service appointment with any car company before.
Yeah, you wouldn’t like it with the extra horsepower, the bucket seats, interior lighting, cooling seats, additional screen in the back, quieter interior, smoother adjustable suspension, sleeker front, nicer rims and hardware 4. I am keeping the stalks 💪😂
My 2024 Tesla Model 3 Long Range did not have any of these issues. Mine was made in China so not sure if that has anything to do with it. The only issue I had was a creak coming from the lumbar support in my driver seat. The service center fixed the problem promptly and no further issues.
Besides the turns signals and weird looking interior lights my M3P came out pretty nice with no squeaks and misaligned panels. I can’t lie I feel like others got it worse than me tbh. My blue on black is pretty much perfect. I love that thing man. Though u saying it’s not a luxury car gave me a wake up call. $57k that’s def luxury car price 😅 But side note: running 10.9’s in 1/4’s and being faster than 99% of cars on the road is def a great feeling that we share 👍🏽 I like your stuff man keep it up
i said the same thing but at the same time it’s worth it bc we don’t have to spend maintenance on nothing but tires. and charging is way cheaper then gas. and being faster then 99% cars definitely makes it worth it 🤣
While all new cars should be perfect, many aren't. Not sure if Tesla is any worse than any other brand, but what is different is the degree of scrutiny that these cars receive. As someone who has owned lots of cars over the past 50 years I've experience a wide range of issues. While my 2019 Model 3 had some very minor imperfections, they were certainly no worse than any of the other cars I had purchased in the past 20 years. This included models from GM, Toyota, Honda/Acura, Subaru, and Ford. What was notably different from all the other vehicles I purchased was that the Tesla had zero major issues. By comparison my Corvette needed new rings, had an unfixable fuel gauge issue, leaking diff, etc. The Toyota pickup had horrific piston slap when cold and had a habit of throwing fan belts. The Prius experienced a complete failure of the heating/cooling system and a failed catalyst....in addition to exterior plastic parts that started decomposing after 3 years. The Subaru was actually one of the best, but it had AC that was never really cold, and nobody could fix it. The Hondas all had issues including a leaking power steering pump, a failed fuel pump, and loss of power much beyond 100k miles. The Ford was probably the worst, with gauge issues, knocking, leaking main seal, etc. By comparison the Tesla experience no serious issues and required no maintenance. Current Toyotas have huge issues including V8s with bottom end failures, V6s with bottom end failures, Tacomas with transmission overheating and debilitating failures, and poor panel gaps. To make matters worse, Toyota has no spares available. This in addition to Toyota having been caught cheating on fuel economy, emissions, and safety submissions. By comparison, Tesla's biggest issue was with the aluminum accelerator pedal cover coming loose....and wiper issues on the Cybertruck. If Tesla had anything close to the problems that Toyota has had in the past 6 months there would be riots in the streets. Instead there are videos about paint imperfections and panel gaps. While none of this excuses the issues your 2024 car has had, it does seem that there is a double standard here.
Having same issue with turn signals. Loud squeaking from front driver side on rougher roads that I need to take it in for but other than that everything has been good on new M3P. My front underside doesn't look like yours in the video, nothing hanging down on mine.
My Tesla Model 3 Performance was delivered on June 18. I did a surface level inspection at the showroom on the day. It was all shiny and new from Fremont, CA. The only flaw I could find was the mounting for the side view mirror. It was not flush with the window. Since this is the same on both sides, I chalked it off as a design flaw. Everything else seems to be OK. I was thinking about getting some PPF applied, but then was quoted $3000+materials for coating from front bumper to A pillar. That is too much. BTW, your videos are enjoyable to watch and very informative.
I’ve now had a Tesla loaner longer than I’ve had my new 2024 Model 3 LR. Several I ssues with the paint. It’s black and in sunlight there were 5 places around the vehicle where fifty cent piece size grey spots would appear. It was under the clear coat. Additionally the front driver’s side wheel clicked at low speeds. And finally there was a rattle in the headliner. They had the car for two weeks. Upon receiving it back the car was filthy: dusty interior, finger prints on windows and glass, dirty foot prints and gravel/rocks in front seat floor mats. All was fixed but there were 2 new issues with the paint and the trim on the driver side door (the part the sits along the widow) just lifts off with your fingers - it’s no longer anchored in place. Such a disappointing services experience. Still love the car but would love some attention to detail and care.
Shame on Tesla for not having their own people do pre-inspection on all their vehicles prior to someone receiving them. I ordered my model Y in 2021 during the pandemic and got it one year later exactly. And because of your videos and others like you I was able to do a pre inspection on my model Y flawlessly. “ no problems at all “ I hope everything works out for you the way you want it to. Thx for the content.
The turn signals work 100% of the time if you click more towards the right of the button. Also if you hold your finger in it it will disable them for 5 seconds
My question, for all the new model 3's. Are the doors and the rest of the interior still making a lot of sound during bass heavy beats? My 2021 M3P, and my friend's 2023 MYP made the same noises. I suppose it's still the same or is it now better?
Do you have any issues with your ambient lighting? I am waiting on my order to arrive. However I have seen in several new builds the ambient lights look like they have bubbles/cracking occurring.
Do you have the same issue with turn signals when in FSD or is it during normal driving? Probably not a huge issue where I live because most people think they are optional anyway
I think i definitely got lucky with my M3P theres only 1 barely noticable panel gap on the back drivers side door, and I had my passenger AC vent making noise when I moved it but i got it fixed and I havent had any issues so far especially mechanically. Super happy with it being my first tesla too and not ending up on one of those horror stories where I get it and its a lemon out the gate
Thank you for not letting this slip and posting the video. Tesla honestly needs to do better. I didn't notice that I had a kink in the top of my 2019 Tesla model three long range until after a month of ownership. It looks like the entire top of the trunk had been damaged, but it was so slight that it almost looked like it was part of the vehicles aero. Fortunately, three years later I was rear ended, and then the body shop was able to fix the damage.
I’ve got to give you a heads-up. At 30,000 miles, the issues you’re noticing now will seem pretty minor. I’ve had my Model 3 for four years, and it’s at 30,000 miles. Honestly, panel gaps are the least of my concerns. The squeaks, rattles, and sensor problems are what really stand out. Unfortunately, these cars aren’t built with the same level of durability as some others. If you’re expecting it to be flawless like a high-end luxury car, just know that even if it starts out that way, it might not stay that way. My car is still under warranty, so I’ve been able to get these issues fixed, but I didn’t even bother with the panel gaps because they didn’t seem worth the hassle. They gave me a loaner with similar mileage, and it wasn’t in great shape either. If you want to always have a car in good condition, you might want to consider leasing and swapping it out every couple of years.
I've been researching and watching Tesla for the past 2 yrs in hopes of getting a Model 3 P next year. It kills me that you have to inspect a brand new car to make sure it was built right. If you buy a fully loaded Mitsubishi Mirage it will be built perfectly, but good luck on one of the most advanced cars on the road. Craziness.
As an Australian who’s owned a Fremont 2020 Model 3 LR and now a 2022 Giga Shanghai Model 3 LR. The build quality is light years ahead from Shanghai, the one complaint is the trim has been rattling from day 1. And while they have definitely improved it, in contrast, the Highland M3P it seemed perfect in this regard.
Jeremiah, you have a great grasp of what's important when you buy a Tesla. I have a 2018 Dual Motor Model 3 and I love the car very much. I had to wait years to get my car and it was reserved online an hour before its reveal to the world. It came with a couple of fish eyes on the hood very close to the Tesla emblem. I really wanted to refuse the car and wait for another, but they told me that I'd have to lose my place inline, pay the current prices and loose my lifetime free data. I accepted the delivery and for the first week I had terrible anxiety about the paint and what other things might be bad that were not known yet. The car had only been out to the public for about six months and it was the time of production hell in Fremont when Elon was sleeping at the factory. The small things really don't matter of the long run.
@@shou635 My mother in law just picked up a brand new Lexus (she works at the plant so no convincing her to get an EV) and I did a quality check on it. Found uneven panel spacing, flexing material, and other issues. Every new car is going to have issues. People just love to put Tesla under a microscope because they're new. At the same time I believe putting them under that microscope is why the refresh 3 is such an improvement over the previous. There's a balance.
Wait until you get any hand-built British sports car like Mclaren or Aston Martin. You'll realize that no car is built perfectly. You just notice it more when the price goes up... And since there's no engine or transmission (or in fact tons of other moving parts and components) on a Tesla there's nothing else to complain about...
@@nikimaslarski2805 You're talking about apples and oranges. Not even Honda or Kia come with so many cosmetic issues. If you've ever owned Mc or AM then you would know that there is no such thing as a bad factory paint job in that range of cars. No bad fit. No poor stitching. YES, British brands have issues but not these kinds of issues.
Great video. My New Model 3 Performance had small scratch marks underneath on the front spoiler right side & two impact spots right side on the spoiler. If I wasn't OCD I wouldn't have noticed it. It was like 94 degrees on delivery day with hot asphalt & I inspected my whole car & got down very low to inspect for any scratches. But I didn't notice the scratches until I was in my garage at home & reinspected me car. My car was drove from the dealership to my garage the same day & didn't stop. I suspected the delivery truck did the damage.
I'm surprised they haven't fixed the issue with the tailgate. Both of my Model 3s ('19 and '22) had issues with the trunk lid clipping the pillar and bending it. In one case, Telsa had to replace the whole trunk lid and it took 4 weeks - thankfully they covered the repair.
Maybe I’m mistaken but I really think these subtle alignment issues are common with most car manufacturers. The more you start looking for it the more you really see it everywhere. I’ve seen very few “perfect” cars.
I just ordered my 2024 Tesla model three performance August 11 I’ll be sure to keep you posted after my delivery date, and how everything went! Watching your videos has gave me so much peace of mind, knowing that all of these issues are strictly cosmetic. I’m super excited to receive my Tesla and I will be looking for accessories once I receive my delivery date!
Longtime ice car enthusiast here and looking to get a used 22 model S or 24 M3p. My brother is trading his tuned 23 bmw m240i for a 22 model s this month. I’ve been tracking my performance cars since the mid 90’s. The amount of performance you get from either Tesla, not to mention the plaid, is insane for the cost. I’ve owned multiple modded vettes and every older vette owner puts up with questionable build quality and interior for the performance per dollars spent and their reliable/modable drivetrains. Vette interiors up to the c6 gen were very generic and cheap. It wasn’t until the c7 and c8 that they started to look the part interior wise. You can only do so much with a budget when you allocated the majority to the drivetrain. I don’t expect perfection in a high performance car under $60k and I’m willing to deal with interior noises, panel misalignment etc because the performance and drivetrain reliability is otherwise excellent.
I like your honest review your Tesla's M3P built problems. While I don't expect these built issues with a cheap Honda or GM, the tech and performance of my M3 LR RWD is next level. On my car, I found four issues, driver side rear door gap, charge port door misaligned, trunk door misaligned, and rear right taillight gap. You mentioned the MY being dialed in, I saw a new 8 mile Y with misaligned front doors both. The gap was 1 -2 mm wider on top and more narrow on bottom. It's sad that Tesla is not fixing problems that shoud not have happened in the first place.
I have a Tesla model 3 performance -21 and I have been to service centers and mobile service has visited us A LOT. I´m sorry to say that I´m never going to buy another Tesla. When my wife and I have saved up to get a BMW we will get one. Faults we have gotten: All cameras stopped working so no autopilot, automatic wipers, automatic lights, sentry mode or anything else related to cameras. This took Tesla 4 times to fix over 8 months. When Tesla finally fixed it they damaged some bits behind the glove compartment which led to a LOT of rattling noise. They also gave us the car without the frunk even assemblied. We had to do this ourself if we didn´t want to wait for mobile service (over a month waiting time). The trunk opening did not work as it should. Took Tesla 3 tries to fix. Was fixed with firmware update in the end. The car was chipped at delivery by the way. Tesla did NOT fix this but just put a bit of touch up paint on it. This was before I even drove it. Also several dents and stuff on the interior at delivery. "Within specs". The upper control arm began to make a horrible noise. Took Tesla 4 months to fix. So we drove around with a horrible noise. Some cables had to be replaced behind the charging port. Unable to charge otherwise. The spoiler had the clear coat peeling off so it was replaced. It wasn´t really attached to the car correctly so the new one fixed that issue as well. Several alighment issues on the body panels. The trunk was scratched on the paint so it had to be taken to body shop for a repaint. High pitch noise from the rear motor when driving around 45 mph. "Within specs". And then we have all the rattling noises and squeeks etc. I am not lying: We have had over 20 appointments because of this over 3 years. 2 door panels have been replaced because of it. The wood panel in front have been replaced and a lot of foam is not stuck underneath it so it doesn´t rattle. Both b-pillars have been fixed with textile tape to stop rattle. Several clips have been replaced because of rattle. The vanity mirror rattled. A interior trim at the c-pillar has been replaced but not it rattles again. There is a rattle on the front dash board that has been fixed but it back again. It´s really ridiculus how many errors and rattles this car has. It´s a never ending story. And now Tesla says that they are not obligated to fix rattles anymore so they will not fix anything related to sounds. I like the technology of Teslas but this is my first and last one for sure. And by the way: Here in Sweden it´s not a cheap car. It´s the same price as a BMW i4. With a lot of add ons the BMW is more expensive but the starting price is the same.
I just took delivery last week, I have several similar issues, and just noticed that front under tray flap hanging down, Did they fix yours? I had the squeaky armrest, but fixed that myself in 2 minutes. Several minor paint issues, and my chargeport alignment is off, they were going to do a mobile tech, but a day before said I needed to bring it in, and the next appointment was…. Oct 16th…. It was Aug 19th at the time… but I had planned to get PPF put on, now I have to drive around for almost 2 months praying I don’t get any paint chips…. 😣
It’s unfortunate you are having all these issues. You think Tesla would get this right after 7yrs. of building model 3’s. The crazy part is, you even have a check list and it’s a thorough one. I also have several of these issues and it’s a nightmare with service. Other than that, I still think the pros outweigh the cons. ⚡️😎
@Jeremy, the underside of our front fascia is ripped very similarly to yours. We noticed it at Tesla’s delivery center before signing for our Ultra red M3P and mentioned it to the attendant. And we have an appointment for it to be repaired.
How do such things get unnoticed at delivery. Where is Tesla^s pre-delivery quality control procedures? I think they off-load the responsibility to the customer. I can remember when I went to pick up my car, I had my Tesla check list and was amazed at all the people walking around their cars holding a check list. Ridiculous but smart from Tesla.
First off with the door alignments, you dont want the trailing edge of the panel in front to be flush with the leading edge of the next panel. If they are flush or pushed in, they can create wind noise. A millimeter of difference is fine. As long as the body lines match up i wouldn't be concerned by that.
I'm really sorry to hear you are having a few cosmetic issues. You are correct about vehicles undergoing exterior refreshes..sometines the first runs will have the most growing pains. I know you are aware of this, so I'm just a little confused about your video. I did not get the performance, I stuck with my LR. I just got it june 27, and its tinted, front PPF only, and Modesto coated. It could be the fact that Tesla had more time to hone their skills ,because my M3LR has none of your listed concerns. No under belly damage. No trim issues. Heck, the front bumper is so tight fitting I can't get my finger nail in the grove. I compared it to my friends 911...its just a tight as his 911. The rear bumper is the same...super tight. I was super impressed with everything. Like I said it's possible a fresh run had a learning curve to work on. The under belly seems like it was damaged when being unloaded. Just a thought. Hope you get all your concerns resolved. I personally love my M3LR. Went with white paint and white interior...and it qualified for the tax credit due to the long wait.
Mine had a chunk of plastic missing from the front bumper lower spoiler thingy, on delivery. Delivery truck drivers aren't very careful. The car had been delivered from China to NZ, and been on and off several boats and trucks before it got to me in Christchurch. Tesla replaced the damaged trim, although they claim I caused the damage... I took it back to them a couple of times to get interior rattles fixed. I had a nasty one in the center console, somewhere down under the phone charger area, and another one up around the rear view mirror. There is another rattle somewhere on the top of the dash in near the windscreen, but it is minor compared to the others, so haven't had it fixed yet - am kind of waiting for someone to do a YT video on this one, and fixing it myself. The front tyres make a thrumming noise, when turning at low speed - I'm assuming that is just what they do. And you get quite a lot of mechanical feedback through the steering wheel, which I haven't had in any other car I've owned.
Just got my new Model 3. The only complaint I have is there is a rattle when the bass is a bit heavy on some music..... I'm gonna fix it once I find the location. Too many people nitpick these cars compared to other brands. Plastic cars....this is what you get with mass production vehicles. Go with Porshe or Lambo's if you want hand made with little robot manufacturing.
Only two issues a month of using my M3P: (1) For some reason the arcade apps refused to download. I took it into Tesla service and they were able to resolve the issue after a day. (2) Turn indicators can randomly jam. It's rare but annoying when it happens. Pressing harder or off center will get past the jam. Otherwise, I feel fortunate with my instance. It's such a joy to drive I want to accessorize and make the most of it.
I bought a 2024 Model Y Performance and even though I would have loved the extra acceleration of the M3P, the M3P's lack of stalks alone is enough to make me think I made the better decision buying the MYP.
So, Ive been around a long time and owned more cars than most people youve met. Ive bought and sold probably 200 cars. I can tell you without reservation that most of these "defects" you are calling out exist everywhere and from every manufacturer. Ive bought 6 cars this year including a '24 Model 3 performance like this one, 2 toyota trucks, a Porsche 911 and a WRX and all of those cars have had build issues. My Tesla actually has the least build quality issues of all of them. I am nowhere near a Tesla fanboy either - I like them and have a bunch of stock, but if you want a perfect car youre going to have to spend a lot more and get something where the manufacturer knows people are going to be anal retentive just because they can. I can remember a time when new cars were way way worse built with multiple actual issues from the factory and not this minutae. Sorry, cant gve you a thumbs up on this one.
I took delivery of my model y performance just over a month ago. Went on a road trip 2 days after and the front aero shield and front fascia came loose, started dragging on the highway making a loud sound inside and eventually a chunk of it broke off. Called the service center near my destination and they replaced it that next day no cost. And a few weeks ago i had the trunk lid taillight replaced due to excessive condensation when it rained. Tesla service came to my house for that so it wasn’t an inconvenience at all. Also the interior drives side trim has a gap where it meets the trim on the dashboard compared to the passenger side, but i don’t care much about that. I overall love the car but had a few hiccups with it😭😭😭
that's how it is taking any vehicle to the shop. you start things put together at the factory apart and they never go back together as good or they mess something else up
I've had a long range dual motor M3 for a little over a month now (took delivery 7/9) and the first issue has just arisen. The air bag status indicator is showing "OFF" with an adult in the front passenger seat and is staying on all the time. The service appointment is over 2 weeks from the time I reported it.
I own an M3 LR AWD, and I've been experiencing issues with the turn signals, particularly the left one. When I need to use it, I often have to press the opposite button to get it to respond correctly. I believe this is something that could be addressed with a software update to improve their responsiveness. Until then, I'll manage with the current situation. The car is extremely quiet and performs well overall. Thank you for all your informative videos.
Thanks for posting this. I have several of the flaws on a Model 3 I just picked up two days ago. The passenger door is misaligned, for one. Glad I leased this car vs buying it. It’ll be recycled into a taxi in 3 years.
Personally I’m extremely biased. I LOVE Tesla, however there are things they can improve on so I’m not gonna say they can do no wrong but I will never shit on them to other people. I love my model 3 and I love Elon. I loved them even long before I ever owned any of their cars
I have a 2024 Model 3 Long Range Dual Motor which is 5 months old and after 5 Tesla service visits they cannot fix the steering wheel buttons. All 6 steering wheel buttons that randomly stops working. Sometimes it's 1 button or 2 or up to all 6. It is super annoying and it's a critical safety issue. Sometimes you need to wash the windshield, or a cop is behind you but you need to make a turn but you can't because the turn signal button decides to get frozen. This also happens sometimes as well the left blinker will turn on even if you push the right blinker button. I had my steering wheel replaced and that did not fix it. Had to replace the steering wheel as well because of a creaking noise. Also have pop, crackie, click noises from the rear latches and child seat anchor areas ( this noise started after couple months of driving ). Driver seat creaks upon accelerating and decelerating ( that's also super annoying ). This is my second model 3. If you go into the service menu and under steering wheel buttons if you rest your finger of any of the 6 buttons the icon turns orange. Even if the button is frozen. So the computer knows you are pushing the button but nothing happens. I have my 6th Tesla service visit coming up soon and if they cannot fix it I will just install after market stalks. Would not drive any other car because I love using FSD despite it's problems. If there was no FSD I would not buy the 2024 Model 3's. Also I did talk to Transport Canada about the steering wheel buttons. ( They said they will have to wait and see as more data comes in ). Turn signals, windshield washer, and high beam buttons are critical for proper safe driving. I think this is gonna be some really serious problem on Tesla's hands as more people buy the 2024 Model 3's.
I have the exact issue with the passenger side tail light, it's a bit of a bummer, but it does not bother me too much. The car is a joy to drive. Did our first road trip (Marin county to Orange county) last weekend. Supercharger station in Bakersfield was 112F with no shade...lol. We had a blast though! Two stops each trip. Took delivery 6-22
Yea I didn't end up upgrading my 1y old M3P for the sole purpose that it didn't have stalks. No thanks to button turn signals. Such a shame, I really did want to upgrade. Looks great and performs faster. They got the outside design right but not the interior
If all that has to be done to a car I don’t consider it to be new I’d decline delivery and ask for another model 3 sending it to a body shop was the last straw for me.
It seems you got really unlucky. We call it a "Monday Car" 😉 My mod3 Performance which I recently have got here in Austria was coming from China and was perfect, so far. I just found out that I do only have got 460HP instead of 480HP as the US version have. I had troubles with the delivery center, because they were extremly busy here in Vienna. So I had to wait quite a while, like others. And Yes the blinkers need a bit of "training" But it is a great car for the money ! Hope they will sort out everything with your car.
I took delivery of my '24 M3P about 2 weeks ago and have the SAME front passenger door alignment issue as you. I also put in for a 4 wheel alignment as the car was pulling slightly to the right like so many owners. I won't go to my service center till 8/8 and I hope they don't tell me that my door is within spec. Honestly, it depends on the service center and your relationship with the service writers. It's got to be either the stamping at the factory that is the cause or the mounting point at the hinge that is off. When multiple cars have the same issue, it might be an issue inherent to the manufacturing. Otherwise, I have not other issues. So the '24 is much better built than my '21 LR w/ Boost.
I've had my M3P for 2 weeks in Australia and only issue is the wireless phone chargers not working. Everything you've mentioned in the video is thankfully fine on mine.
I took delivery of my M3P last week and the one thing that stuck out was the LED strip on the dash being higher where it meets my door LED only on my passenger side. Its super annoying and looks like a step instead of a level horizontal line. Unfortunately I can see the right side of my dash just is isnt flushed to the bottom section of my dash making the LED higher. Im afraid of having Tesla mess with the dash as Im afraid if they need to dismantle the dash, it would cause a squeak or rattle because right now its completely quiet and like you, my biggest fear is having interior rattles or squeaks as Im super sensitive to those things and it would drive me up the wall like it did in my older Model Y that I sold. Im really surprised and shocked that your getting your whole dash replaced! Please update me on how that goes as I would be interested to see how well or bad that repair turns out. Wishing you the best on your repairs bro! Other than that, honestly I love this beast of a car and would definitely buy it again if I had to do it all over again! No regrets here😁
Hey dude hope you are doing well, I wanted to ask you I will be picking up my Tesla model 3 Highland Standard range RWD in 2 days and I wanted to know what is the best charging limit for my situation as within my job I work with my private car so I use on an avrage 150 km a day, what do you think I should set my limit on? thanks
Model 3 rwd have LFP battery. You can charge to 100% or discharge to 0 whiteout any problem. Tesla says to charge to 100% at least 1 time per week. I suggest you to do so, and charge to 90% when in the other day of the week.
I don’t think normal people are so nitpicking when inspecting other types of new cars, but when it comes to Telsa’s a lot of people go way overboard with their level of nitpicking.
Just test drove a LR model 3 and noticed that arm rest issue immediately. The Y interior feels sturdy, but the wood trim does make it feel like you’re in an Apple Store. Not as punchy either compared to the 3. I can only imagine the P3 😂
Maybe that explains why so many Tesla drivers around me in California often don't use turn signals. I drive an R8 Spyder, a car that is more expensive than any model Tesla and because of my AMS Performace tune, it is quicker than every Tesla other than the Plaid. Yet somehow I so often seem to encounter Tesla drivers who actually look my way as if I should envy them. One guy in Malibu, in the Ralphs parking lot, decided to park in the red, right next to the entrance. I couldn't move forward until the opposing lane traffic passed. I pulled up next to the guy. He lowered his window and turned to me as I honked. I said, "Dude, you look like an intelligent enough man to realize that you're not in a parking spot." Shook my head and moved on after I noticed he was also sitting there reading what looked like the WSJ.

Turn signals buttons need to work properly. For those wanting stalks, should try out the 3rd party options.
Honestly, if Tesla only had yes men like you we’d have never gotten the much better put together refresh that we did.
@@JremiahJones I am not a yes man, just someone who appreciates Tesla. I also am sick and tired of people constantly bashing the most innovative company on the planet. And finally, I am not a whiny spoiled kid.
Needs to be a recall for the turn signals, it's such a common and potentially dangerous problem
Agreed !!!!!!
I'm hoping they redo the wheel with physical buttons and offer free retrofits
Never had this issue with the stalks in my Model 3.
I have that problem with my model X as well. It’s a safety issue.
Totally agree!
I have about 400 miles on my 2024 M3P and have had it for a week. I’ve not had any issues with turn signals or other features that I’ve noticed. Only thing that I found wrong on delivery was just a minor scratch/chip on the rear bumper diffuser
I've had mine slightly longer and fewer miles, but same, zero issues with the blinkers.
Use 3M double sided tape. It won't smell up the car.
My M3 2024 is fine. No complaints. Great car so far.
put some miles on it then come back here
Who asked tho
I love my car it puts a smile on my face every time I get to drive it
Luckily my armrest doesn't due this on my refreshed M3 LR or that would drive me nuts 😮😮
Im happy that EU gets Shanghai M3s. Mine is premium build. It’s literally perfect. I love it
Same, I tried very hard to find something but I couldn't
You used "literally" incorrectly. Nothing can truly be perfect.
I would argue that the LG battery is not perfect for the M3P ;-), but congrats on 98% perfect.
Same here in Australia, my M3P (10days old) is perfect!😊
My friend bought Shanghai M3 and it is also perfect, he went over it with a fine-tooth comb.
The turn signal thing and squeaky armrest would drive me nuts...
It is probably a Seat belt bottom plastic piece which is rattling. Fasten your passenger seat belt when no one is seating. You won’t hear anything.
These owners are silly
What nit picking !!!!!
1000 miles in 2024 m3p from Shanghai and there are zero problems with mine. I guess I'm lucky because the build quality is perfect.
First world problems
I think I’ll keep my 2023 M3P. I didn’t have any issues and I really don’t think I will like it without stalks.
Same. Its perfect!
$57k that’s def luxury car price 😅
But side note: running 10.9’s in 1/4’s and being faster than 99% of cars on the road is def a great feeling that we share 👍🏽 I like your stuff man keep it up
i said the same thing but at the same time it’s worth it bc we don’t have to spend maintenance on nothing but tires. and charging is way cheaper then gas. and being faster then 99% cars definitely makes it worth it 🤣
While all new cars should be perfect, many aren't.
If you don’t mind me asking when did you order it ? I just ordered mine and am impatient
@@museh31 I ordered my M3P on April 29, 2024 and took delivery on June 18.
Would u recommend getting the long range over performance model 3 idk which to get
Generally the performance is just better all around. It gets similar range to the LR when you put on smaller wheels.
LR>. It’s the best in the line up. Performance has too many problems
Well, depends on what aspects are more important for you...
Moral of the story: if you find issues you can't live with, reject it.
Sounds like good dating advice
Got my car back and all issues have been addressed. /phew
Never buy a new generation model car. This is for ALL car brands not just Tesla
Craziness.
What is your referral code?
As an Australian who’s owned a Fremont 2020 Model 3 LR and now a 2022 Giga Shanghai Model 3 LR. The build quality is light years ahead from Shanghai, the one complaint is the trim has been rattling from day 1. And while they have definitely improved it, in contrast, the Highland M3P it seemed perfect in this regard.
How long will I be waiting for my 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance from the order date?
I ordered a White/Black M3P on 8/23 and delivery was just set for 9/26. So, roughly a month.
Tesla owners think having your car not being built correctly is a minor issue
Non Tesla owners thinking their cars are perfect. We Tesla owners have seen both sides.

When is your delivery date? Im in TN and my delivery window is 8/29-9/7. Ordered 8/3. White on White Model 3 Performance 👌
At this point I would assume you got your car? How was it? Any cosmetic problems? Mine is coming Nov 15th!
Videos like this are very important for people waiting for delivery. Kudos!
How is build quality still an issue? Aren’t these cars mostly made by robotic arms?
@Jeremy, the underside of our front fascia is ripped very similarly to yours. We noticed it at Tesla’s delivery center before signing for our Ultra red M3P and mentioned it to the attendant. And we have an appointment for it to be repaired.
Too many similar to be random road damage. I have the same. Going in the 26th for service.
What year is your m3?
More of a nitpick-the vented seat holes are a magnet for dust / dandruff. So probably not as easy to keep clean as previous gen.
The only thing you need to know is that having no stalks sucks, but all the great things about the model 3 makes it the best ev on the market.
I bought a 2024 Model Y Performance and even though I would have loved the extra acceleration of the M3P, the M3P's lack of stalks alone is enough to make me think I made the better decision buying the MYP.
Any oil leaking from the rear drive unit? I guess this is a thing with the 2024 M3P. Although mine is dry so far.
My question is, do people who buy ICE cars do this same type of inspection? Are there no issues with a Ford or Mazda?
When dropping 30k+ on a car? Yes. Of course they do.
I overall love the car but had a few hiccups with it😭😭😭
Did they fix your arm rest?
Mine annoying too.
Fearing taking it to the shop because they make break something else is WILD 🙃
that's how it is taking any vehicle to the shop. you start things put together at the factory apart and they never go back together as good or they mess something else up
@@Xeyedjohn exactly, the "horror stories" I was referring to weren't just Tesla's
@@Xeyedjohnsounds like you need to go to better shops or complain. You’re the customer
@@KingTechHD ok
Can’t you not accept delivery until all is fixed?
Tesla must have gotten a really good deal on led bulbs on Temu!
Where you getting power for that valentine one from?
Was this a Fremont build 3p or china?
100% the turn signal buttons are capacitive on a moving panel. So many people keep mis-reporting that it's "physical buttons"
Personally I’m extremely biased. I LOVE Tesla, however there are things they can improve on so I’m not gonna say they can do no wrong but I will never shit on them to other people. I love my model 3 and I love Elon. I loved them even long before I ever owned any of their cars
Did you get an answer of how Tesla is going to fix the lighting bubbles/cracks?
?
Is your Model 3 built in the US? It definitely seems like there are a lot more problems than mine :(
I have a 2024 Model 3 Long Range Dual Motor which is 5 months old and after 5 Tesla service visits they cannot fix the steering wheel buttons.
Jeremiah, Check the rear drive unit. There’s several that are leaking oil in the rear drive unit. Could be the KAF fluid.
Got an Ultra Red M3P a month ago, it's perfect and the best car I've ever owned. Came out of a Merc CLS 63 AMG-S.
Yea I didn't end up upgrading my 1y old M3P for the sole purpose that it didn't have stalks. No thanks to button turn signals. Such a shame, I really did want to upgrade. Looks great and performs faster. They got the outside design right but not the interior
Just wondering is there a reason you’ve had three Model 3’s? Three cars over the span of it’s 6 year production run seems like a lot
If you don’t mind me asking when did you order your m3p
@@museh31 I put in my order about 3 days after it was announced so about 4/27 or so.
Having the same issues with turn signals. Using my M3P for Uber and everyone is enjoying it! Car is overall amazing.
Your last performance is what made me purchase mine…is there a regret in upgrading with this experience?
Can you refuse the car on pickup day if it doesn't meet your expectations or has these issues? Can you ask for a refund ?
I don’t think normal people are so nitpicking when inspecting other types of new cars, but when it comes to Telsa’s a lot of people go way overboard with their level of nitpicking.
Just test drove a LR model 3 and noticed that arm rest issue immediately. The Y interior feels sturdy, but the wood trim does make it feel like you’re in an Apple Store. Not as punchy either compared to the 3. I can only imagine the P3 😂
I have the same problem with the turn signals which sucks. Sometimes I’m trying to hit the turn signal and nothing happens as I try and try again. =\
They should just make those physical buttons, if they don’t want them to fial like that
This should be a physical recall. It’s a safety concern. I love my refresh but this is ridiculous
Love your channel. And yep left turn signal was my biggest issue. Same as you showed in your video.
