    I did this while on a 100 day juice fast … I retained 7 inches😮while losing 50 lbs (swear to God) I couldn’t believe it either…the only difference is I wore twist instead of braids.. for easier quicker take down ( I have the same length of hair and this would take me 1.5 hours after wash day)
    ( wish I could add photos to comments 😢)..
    MY SCHEDULE
    *Every 3 days• i moisturized my hair with aloe vera juice (instead of water), oils and homemade flaxseed gel on the ends to finger curl.
    * Every 2 weeks• I retwisted the perimeter
    *Every month• I wash, condition ( with twist in), moisturize & retwist my entire head …
    The repeat the process !!

      Twists would for sure be such an easy process to take down and they’re faster to put in too! I wish 😩😩 lol.. and congrats on your juice fast!! Juicing for 100 days is phenomenal and you had phenomenal results! 👏🏾🙌🏾💪🏾

    I’m so happy I came across this video! I have fine hair, medium density. I’ve always hesitated to do styles like mini twists and braids without added hair because I’m self conscious about the thickness. I'm so excited for your hair journey, I'm around the same length and I want tailbone length so bad! But, I know once I reach that point I'm going to want hip length. I have been doing the same hair-oiling routine, msm and hair infinity as an alternative for nutroful and it's been amazing. (if you ever do a try out, I'd love to see you review it after all the hype years ago). Fingers crossed we continue growing these inches. 🤞

I’m currently using the hair growth vitamin but MaryRuth’s and I like it so far. Planning on taking it for the whole year. I’m excited as well! It took a min for me to get to this point- failed wolf cut, excessive shedding/breakage (iron and vitamin d deficiencies), not caring at all. But I’m all in now lol and I’m so happy to have you along for the journey 🙋🏾‍♀️🫶🏾❤️

    I wear twists. They seem quicker. I don’t have a problem with them but do you think it’s better I switch to the plaits too? You said you wash every week, but do you re-braid every week too? Can you wash each week but just re-twist or re-braid once per month or will that just tangle it too bad?

    • @SharatiaBanks
      @SharatiaBanks  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Redoing the plaits in the video was my 29th day (basically a month) of having these plaits. I’m redoing them every 4 weeks but washing every week. Personally, I if I wash twists weekly they’ll start to knot and tangle so I’d end up having to redo every two weeks or less. Too much of a hassle lol so it depends on the hair type. But I wish I can do twists cause you’re absolutely right. Wayyyyy faster to install

    How do you prep your hair before installing your braids? Do you do a protein treatment ? Do you also detox?

    • @SharatiaBanks
      @SharatiaBanks  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Since my hair is in this style, my focus is moisture not protein. When I take them all out to redo, I’ll do a protein treatment then but as of now, deep conditioning weekly and redoing each plait every 4-5 weeks 6:00 I’ll redo the whole style 3-4 months. And I just did a full soak, just allowing my hair to sit in water last week. It was relaxing 😌😌 but I use a clarifying shampoo so I don’t think it’s needed as much 🤗🤗

    Can me wearing my hair in a puff be a protective style. Also girl thanks for all the tips ❤❤. Also I really don’t know what else to do to like grow my hair 😭 I’m like 14 with like 8 inches it’s so tough because I can’t style my hair like how I see on like social media.

    • @SharatiaBanks
      @SharatiaBanks  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Technically the ends have to be tucked away in some form to prevent tangles, knots, or friction for it to be a protective style. So if you wear a puff, twist the ends and make it a bun. Hope that makes sense 🙏🏾

    I noticed that a Lotta people claim that they have waist length hair but only to them because i will agree about how our hair draws up so until i see your hair from scalp to waist i will agree with you so get your tape and lets do the length check together

    • @SharatiaBanks
      @SharatiaBanks  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +27

      using a measuring tape would skew the claims as our bodies are different. the waist is the smallest part of our tummy area and it's different for everyone. if I put my hair on someone that's 5 feet tall, the hair would be longer. if I put it on someone 6'2 then it would be shorter. so, no. im not gonna measure it that way. I am however, will continue to do what you see at the end of the video 🤗

    • @virendavictoria5174
      @virendavictoria5174 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      The answer is right on spot...waist length isn't anything related to measuring tape but rather a person herself.

    I just tried washing my hair in twists and they immediately began to lock up

    • @SharatiaBanks
      @SharatiaBanks  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeaaaa same! That’s why with my hair type, I don’t do twists, especially this small. Plaits are the sweet spot. It stays stretched so no tangles/knots. The only things is, depending on how often I wash, I have to monitor near the roots to make sure there’s no buildup. But yea, no twists for me

    dear pls help I don't know how often I should oil my scalp.......I wash my hair every week I have 3c-4a hair type and high porosity.......so how often should I oil my hair.

    • @SharatiaBanks
      @SharatiaBanks  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      start slow, but it also depends on how thick the oil is.. if it's a thinner oil, often is okay. if it's thicker, limit the amount. I'd say start by doing it a couple hours or the night before wash day to see how you react to it. then increase it to 3x a week. also, take in consideration the state/ condition of your scalp.
