Did you do a 60mph sudden brake test? Just wondering if they fixed the severe suspension safety issue with the rear wheels lifting off the ground?
Would love to see a comparo between this and the Jetour T2 when the latter comes out this year. These two could really make a splash given how they offer much more value compared to the Bronco and Wrangler. The warranties of these new players are also class-leading. Of course, there's the 5dr Jimny, too, which undercuts these units though also sacrificing some niceties. In all, it's great to have so much competition in this space now. At best, they'll force the traditional nameplates to either apply downward pressure on their SRPs or force them to up their tech/features moving forward. Consumers win.

The hybrid variant would be perfect ✌️😃 or the latest Hi4-T with more low end torque plus much better fuel economy win win for city driving and off roading fun ❤🎉🎉

@@peterpan121983 i meant "safer" in terms of proven reliability of other brands (in consideration of the price). Dont get me wrong, I honestly wanted this when I saw one a month ago... its just the price :(
@@ronramos1613GWM has been in operation sine 1984. The Tank 300 is widely popular even in Australia. If you doubt its reliability, just watch videos of it going off-roading - in some cases even surpassing legacy brands.
@@ronramos1613 kuha ka na sir. 2020 pa na launch itong tank 300. Since then it has already gained legendary status in off-roading. Just do do your own research na lang po. I have driven one and it's out of this world better than a jeep, better than a raptor. Plus hindi po basta2 nayuyupi ang tank even if it rolled over 4 times down hill.. walang dent walang damage. Saw it on a russian offroading video. It's got nappa leather, cooled seats, 9speaker infinity sound system with a huge subwoofer at the back. The body is very sturdy its got underbody guard offroad capabilities is upthere with the biggest names like land cruiser, patrol, jeep etc.. NVH is top notch, suspension is crazy smooth. Drove this without braking on the rough road with 2 huge speed humps the thing literally floated like it was nothing.
When you are doubting the reliability and build quality of Chinese cars because of stigma, you should watch how Russians review China cars. You'll be surprised how tough Chinese cars are.
Lol a bit more torque? This thing moves the moment you step off the brakes. 380nm torque is equal to your ranger 2.0 diesel. So a bit more torque really??
design and tech are a marriage of the some brands.😂 Toyota, Jeep, Ford and Mercedes....😂
What is exactly the target market of this? We all know ph is brand conscious. Is it marketed towards offroaders? Then they missed out on making it front IFS. Solid axles are way much preferred for those people. Is it marketed towards typical SUV buyers? Then people will just go with the 7 seater SUV which is also capable offroad if you have the 4x4 variant. Is it marketed those towards having a Sunday car / weekend car? The brand doesn't even carry weight at this point.
Really, GWM Ph shot themselves on the foot by pricing it akwardly and no mans land. Cheaper than Jeep but not solid axle, an FJ replacement but without the heritage and brand and aftermarket PARTS and support we have. Pricier than Jimny but is actually bigger all around and still not solid axle.
Is GWM the same as Mahindra?

@bear3806 30k saving? What does that even mean? You do know that even a 100k increase doesn't matter to buyers at this price point (that's like 3% of total srp only). Also, this is about 250k pricier than these SUV's top of the line range. Longevity and PARTS is what counts in this category. Does this thing have a mature market in the country? Do you have IMMEDIATE spare parts of if it breaks down? If you're looking for pure comfort then you can't beat Nissan Terras. In modern tech like automatic parking etc and parts maturity, you can't beat Ford Everest. So what role does this fill? A cheap Jeep? A high tech Toyota FJ Cruiser (btw is 600k cheaper)? You can't beat an FJ in terms of parts and quality. You also can't beat a Jeep in terms of branding, yet this vehicle is a bump away towards that brand. So what is this 2.7mil suv for? It's also nearly 2 times more expensive than the new 4 door Jimny that is used for fun. These are legit questions btw. This is like the Geely Okavango scenario all over again. Great vehicle, but terrible parts circulation. Not to mention this is a 5 seater. So why get this when you can get a 4x4 SUV with 7 seats? If you're targeting the luxury offroaders, then why settle for this when you can have a Jeep or a modded FJ cruiser? What about this cars after market parts availability (or does it have any at all)?

While i do appreciate it's attempt, i'm not a fan of it's execution (and msrp) - they should've not copy-pasted the design of the jeep and when for something more unique since that's they're niche anyway. Ride comfort isn't a selling point anymore since all of the modern suv's are great rides.

Its my political stance against PRC for bullying us and if you buy them is directly funding more their govt coz IIRC almost are state owned (partial).
2ndly, the quality and the blatant trying hard immitation of their models. Parts availability and after sales service is questionable. Main selling points nila mostly are the loaded features na sa dami eh yun din ang dami ng masisira. Tapos etong model na to ganyan kamahal? Are they trying to fool everyone na theyre are a premium brand or a pedigree?
I rather buy the base model or the bare bones variant of a toyota/japan model than a a fully loaded ch!nk one. Again thats my stance because its China. Kung di sila kupal sa pinas and even to the rest, then perhaps, parhaps ill buy their chinese motorbikes 😄
This Tank 300 is a mix of Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler in terms of the Exterior Design. The Interior is taken from Mercedes G Wagon.

by closing the doors, i can already hear how thin the body is.
Like a tank it is slow and heavy. Shouldve put in a v6. The engine will get stressed with a car that big. Overall though the suv is a good value
it would be more expensive if they put in the 3.0L twin turbo V6 mild hybrid.
Not just because of the bigger engine but because of taxes.

Hmmmn. Too much expectations by GWM phils. This is just under 1.9m in australia when it was launched. And only compared to the new mahindra scorpio n. But if GWM phils introduced this as an alternatve to bronco or the new land cruiser, it will sound cheap. Lol. If I have the money, will rather buy the raptor and spend the extra money for the accessories. Goodluck GWM for the overpriced Tank 300.
