Hey! Was really awesome to have you play against the AI, and certainly couldn't have had a more dramatic finish. Although I'm still confident those CPUs got paid in some way, I have to say well played! I don't plan on stopping making Mario Kart AI anytime soon, so I'm hoping one day me and my silicon counterparts can have our revenge :)

@@PlasmaWolf6890 feels almost like coding buff on the blue shells tbh, in all my years playing Mario Kart ive never seen 3 let alone 4 blue shells in 1 long race no matter the lead.
@@TheTiger896Items are based on distance and placement - the further ahead 1st is, the more commonly blue shells get pulled
@tarosykes I know this, but in other races, the leads were huge too, and there wasn't more than 2. If you can mod in a super AI races you can adjust the distance needed for more blue shells

Wow. What a finish. This is what I like to see. I like these movie quality videos. Now we need a super movie of all these types of videos combined into one compilation for the ultimate experience. I cannot wait for when that happens.
It's a testament to how good the AI is when it takes 4 blue shells in one race to knock it down to 2nd place.
lol the one time blue shells decided to be on team human. Probably saw that ai styling on him so hard and they were like " aw hell naw. aint NOBODY allowed to do that well in mario kart." Those blue shells that day ignited with the fire of humanity's hope as they flew true to defeat the almighty ai that dared to believe one could win at mario kart on sheer skill alone. They flew one after the other to give the humans one last chance. Those 4 brave blue shells may be no more but their legacy will live on forever in history as the day they gave humans one last stand against the ai menace in mario kart. Well fought Red Falcon, you have given humanity perhaps its last victory over the ais, but at least on this day man has not been crushed by the march of machine just yet. Never stop fighting until the bitter end.

Its so cool that you can train an ai that adapts to changes on the track like items or enemies, instead of just learning the optimal button presses with no randomness

Rainbow road is long and a pretty hard and weird track for humans, but of course the Ai will perform very well on it. There are not a lot of shorcuts, and taking very good lines is extremely rewarding. It's a good track for AI.
Skynet saw the Singularity was getting too much attention, so it sent those 4 blue shells to ease our fears.

I'm glad that Falc was showing actual Machine Learning research footage instead of Generative Algorithm art during the section where he was talking about AI. Mario Kart and videogame "AI" is much closer to the real thing (which doesn't yet exist) than quote-unqoute "AI Art" and things like ChatGPT.

VIDEO IDEA: Mario wonder but i cant touch THINGS, like the colors video from a couple months ago but with things like pipes, question blocks, and bricks.
If you had used the Ultra Shortcuts in Coconut Mall and Rainbow Road, as well as the regular Shortcuts in Bowser's Castle, then you would have absolutely smashed that AI 😉
shortcuts and items are the two things that are still on our side for the moment.
You miss a wonder effect that is in the final level or the final boss that is most of all wonder effect!
That last race was so sad and so rage inducing lmao. I honestly feel like calling it a "super AI" works best for Rainbow Road and Yoshi Falls as it seemed the most optimized there compared to the other tracks. Still feeling salty the AI lost to rng...

Upon viewing this video for a few minutes, I was thinking that this AI was built against the internal bots. So, of course it has little idea on what to do with those items. It learned the lines of the course. The real rematch probably should happen against this AI's child... one that has learned against thousands of on-line training against real Humans. That one will probably have some lethal bite to it. (Posted around 10 minutes in. No idea if 'Team Human' wins.)

item election is connected to first players location. so the farther ahead, the more blueshells for everyone
I wonder if the hidden item mechanic, where items are distributed not by place but by distance from the player in 1st, could have been a part of it. As rainbow road is a long track, and the Super AI most likely was very far ahead most of the time, it is rather probable that many CPUs would be in the threshold where blue shells appear most, especially later on as the differences in progress became more prominent. However, I don't know for sure if this mechanic is actually in the game this was done in, so I could be wrong.
