I figured you blew a seal on the turbo but then the fuel cutoff wouldn't have worked. Bet you blew the head gasket again to.Really thought the cat would be faster to. I would have lost that bet

11 lb of boost on a Polaris is very impressive. How did you turn the fuel up by rolling the pan that's geared inside the pump? I know the injection pumps can be taken apart, despite the manual saying they can't because I've done it to mine........out of curiosity, but not to turn the fuel pump up lol😂. I hope you can find a way to make the turbo worked on the Polaris because I've never seen one hole shot that fast! The 455 was it 30 really fast compared to a stock machine, it really seems to help driveability. The Arctic cat was buzzing Right along too. I look forward to see what the issue was on the Polaris that caused the runaway. Crazy. I'd be willing to bet you're holding the record right now for the fastest acceleration and top-end ever on a Polaris diesel 😎

I've turboed 2 vehicles in the same manner you have done here. My suspicion from real life experience is 2 things. You need a dump resevoir for turbo drain oil and second, your scavenge pump isn't big enough. It backed up and pushed oil past turbo seals. The pump is good enough for normal tooling around but high speed runs use alot more oil. That's where the resevoir comes in handy.

Wow that's crazy! Hopefully you'll get 'er back up and running without too much trouble. Just out of curiosity, is that red lever a fuel shutoff? or some kind of compression release? Sorry if its a dumb question, I'm a gasoline mechanic but i do know there's not a whole lot to stop a runaway diesel lol.

I’m surprised the shutoff worked, does it shut off fuel only? Or does it engage the decomp or some other way to stop a runaway on motor oil?
