    Looks like you never lived anywhere else in the U.S.A. Terrible weather in Dallas, TX, really, really? I have lived in Miami, Tampa, Houston, grew up in New Jersey, all these places have worst climate than Dallas. Dallas gets very hot, but is not humid, dry heat, I prefer Dallas climate than 60 or 70 percent of U.S territory. Miami weather, oh my goodness, you get that humidity in your face when you come out of the airport, most of you have no idea, Dallas not even close.

    Great vid homie. I'm from Oak Cliff. I would recomend to folks moving here to live/rent close to Dart light rail. Yes, the raìl is very reliable, but the Dart buses, not so much.
    For attractions, check out reunion tower, JFK exibit, Ft. Worth stockyards, Ft. Worth zoo, Ft. Worth water gardens and definitely State fair of Texas.
    Yeah, if your job requires you have to take a toll road to work, expect your toll bill can be $50 - $100 per month.
    Dress appropiately for the summers in Dallas. I used to walk 20 mins to the light rail, and be sweating profusely before 7 am

    I may consider calling you when I get ready to leave Dallas. I have been here since I was a 2 year old in the late 70's. I have to disagree with you on some points. Sure Dallas has opportunities. But some other cons you missed where high property taxes. My taxes have more than doubled over the past 8 years. That's with doing nothing to improve my house. I need a new roof that is over 25 years old but instead I save my money for the ridiculous amount of property taxes I pay. Crime is going up. We don't exactly get a bang for our buck when we pay property taxes. City council voted to reduce the police budget. Our streets are in bad condition. Many people choose to put their kids in private schools rather than DISD. I'll put it this way. If you are a Californian who just sold your home over there for $1 million then you have so many options over here and that will unfortunately drive up values which will drive up property taxes which likely won't be as bad as what Californians are paying. But it's bad for the folks who have lived in the same home for 10, 20 or more years and now are forced to leave their homes because property taxes are too high. As far as southern hospitality goes, I'll have to disagree. I remember growing up in the 80's and Dallas feeling more like it was still part of Texas with the Southern Hospitality. But not now. Let's face it Dallas is no longer part of Texas. Soon with the people running it Dallas will be like Austin has become. I have been considering moving to Ft. Worth or a suburb outside of Ft. Worth like Keller, White Settlement or some other city out there to escape the lunacy that has become Dallas.

    The tolls in Dallas are easy to pay. They are not very expensive and you can pay with quarters and a debit card also most of them. Have an employee there that could help. HERE IN SAN DIEGO, there is No quarters allowed and there's no person working the toll 99% of the time. IF THE CARD READER DOES NOT READ THE CARD ( MOST OF THE TIME) YOU GET A NICE HEFTY BILL IN. You should give the option of traceling via toll ways or interstate roads. I moved up here 40 years ago and I don't drive on toll ways. It is a waist of money.

Nine hours later, i arrived in Toronto, and in March, it was too cold for me to go to the airport parking garage and smoke a cigarette.
      BTW, the Toronto airport was the first time I saw a 7-eleven in the six months that I left Dallas for Brasil. I bought a huge coffee.

    I lived in Plano from 80 to 93 and construction was everywhere even back then, but at least there were no toll roads yet and lots of good country back road shortcuts. The heat was fine for the first 5 years but when I hit about 27 and bought my first home, the heat started wearing on me, it was best to stay indoors or go shopping in an air conditioned mall. Would I ever move back? Probably not, it's way too crowded now, I went back in 2014 and barely recognized the place! Even so, people there were always friendly, more so than anywhere else that I lived. l have good memories from working there (TI) and living down there.

I used to be tired all the time in summer in Dallas. But on the other hand I live in Minnesota now and I would love 55 degrees in January. He is also right about opportunities - Texas is very pro-business. I am so sick of our horrible governor here in Minneapolis and the anti-capitalist mentality here. People are very diverse. Wow nows my time to shine haha. Not too often but i was in the last tornado that swept through 20 miles of North Dallas. I was at work at UPS and all of a sudden the lights started flickering and i saw a wall of dust and papers and boxes flying around everywhere i thought the building was freaking gone but what happened was all the doors were open and we caught the outer ring of the tornado so it was literally blowing *THROUGH* the building. I was about 30 feet high on a platform and had to climb down a ladder in the dark holding on so i dont get blown away. We all huddled together like scared chickens for about 30 more seconds and then it started going away but that was so crazy. 2 trailers got picked up in the air with people loading inside and miraculously they were okay, one person broke a leg or 2 but both lived. When i left work that night it was a huge mess i didnt realize how bad it was because it was completely dark. No power on the streets, the whole street behind us disappeared both 711s, the whole shopping center. Several shopping centers the whole line down. A home depot, my planet fitness. Trees were *EVERYWHERE* that night i really understood the power of nature. Luckily not a single person died in all the destruction. Theres still empty businesses down Walnut Hill. Like nothings been done. They havent even demolished some of it they just swept away the mess and left lol. Im sorry to hijack this comment, just wanted to share my story. Yall have a great day.
      And ps, tornadoes dont happen too often around the city. Quite rare. I did see one when i was like 5 too but i forgot mostly what happened. We are all taught how to take cover though in school, idk if thats a nationwide thing. Tornado drills.

    Secret to anyone who hasn’t been to or lived in Texas...Austin is better than Dallas and maybe New Braunfels or Fredericksburg are better than both.

      @@VIPRealty After which cities? Austin has better food than Dallas. Of course Dallas has a lot more restaurants, but if you compare like for like, such as Franklin BBQ or Terry Blacks BBQ vs Pecan Lodge, Austin wins on Texas bbq front and Austin invented breakfast tacos, home of Torchies and Whole Foods, Hopdoddy Burger...the list goes on. Also Austin has HEB which is a lot better than Tom Thumb or any grocery stores in Dallas.

    • @VIPRealty
      @VIPRealty  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jakehowie442 Not sure about that. I go to Austin a lot for work. Austin does have good good. However, imho there's no comparison. Dallas has some of the best steakhouses, bbq, Mexican, etc in the country.

    • @jakehowie442
      @jakehowie442 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VIPRealty Austin has less restaurants and less variety of cuisines. Though, the food spots like Franklin bbq and Terry Black's are better than almost anything in Dallas when comparing like for like. So I don't know how Dallas has better BBQ? Dallas does have better Mexican food and Korean food though.
