When making 4 trips to Texas in 2021 to see if it was the right place for us, we fell in love with Fort Worth. Clean, wholesome, polite, and just nice. We love the cowboy culture and conservative politics. We visited in August to see if we could take the heat. Well, we wanted even more cowboy culture and conservative politics so we bought property 1.5 hours southwest of Fort Worth, lol! True about the scenery, pretty it it's own way but redundant. The sky is amazing, as well as the sense of spaciousness. I'm from the Pacific NW and yes, it is very beautiful. But there is something much more important to us than scenery and good weather, and that is the sense of freedom you have in Texas, which seems to be fading away here.....
@@VIPRealty check out Cannon Beach and Astoria on the Oregon coast. My favorite places that will be missed. Fly into Portland for an easy and beautiful drive the the beach. I may become a “sun bird”, one that goes north in the summer!
Thank you so much for this! Great video. My husband & I have been trying to find the best spot to move in the south & we’re pretty set on Fort Worth. A huge part of my childhood was spent living in Fort Worth & I can’t wait to live there and start a family! The pros out way the cons for us. 👍
@vVIPRealty I’m kinda late to the party but I loved the video. My gf and I are considering moving to Texas and Ft Worth is on the list. I currently work for Coke A Cola and she’s in retail. I’m hoping to just transfer and make the transition as easy as possible but will change jobs if need be. Also, is there any outdoor activities such as hiking or lakes within and hour’s drive? Thanks for the help and hope to hear from you soon!
I'm from midwest but have lived in Far North Fort Worth for 20 years. A lot of people moving here. Most of the new homes being built are in this area. Great place to raise kids, good schools, shopping, restaurants. From May to October, Be prepared for the Heat and humidity like you have never experienced before.lol
As a Fort Worth resident, I will say Fort Worth is the most Texan big city in the state. The southern/cowboy culture is significantly stronger than Dallas, Austin, and Houston. It’s a slower city and a smaller scale
I'm getting ready to retire and thinking of getting the heck out of Southern California please comment if I should my electric bill this summer is over 400$ I' pay 4.00 a gallon for petro and groceries are around 300$ a week. and crime is up almost every year. And bad traffic every day.
One more ‘Con’ for ya: Major Flooding/Flash Flooding (caused by Major Storms & Major Rain Events… some at ‘Historic’ levels. These Events don’t happen frequently, just from time to time). However, it’s not ALL of Fort Worth that gets Majorly Flooded, just certain parts…more so than others. I imagine that this (flash flooding) is one of the Primary Reasons why the cost of living rates are so low in Fort Worth. This very same ‘Con’, could be applied to (certain parts of) ‘Dallas’, ‘Houston’. ‘San Antonio’… etc, etc… as well.
@@grips1446 I'm not from Ft. Worth, but I was raised three hours west in Abilene. There's a vibe in certain parts of Texas that is... not very open-minded. It is a rugged, masculine, white, and conservative culture. That's what people mean (in my experience) when they say 'Cowboy Culture.' It values strength, honesty, and quite honestly can struggle with self-expression that falls out of the narrow range of its culture. It's taken me a long time, but I've learned that it's not necessarily a bad thing. It has its place. But if you're trying to be artsy, effeminate (Texas is like Sparta, even a lot of our women are rugged and tough), or push boundaries, it's not the place for that. If you fit the culture and want to feel cozy, safe, and like the people around you are genuine, then it's amazing. Dallas is really the place to be progressive and push boundaries. Just my two cents from my time in Texas.
Lol! I agree. I live on the Dallas side. I don’t dislike Ft. Worth, I’m just not a big fan of the vibe there. There are specific spots that I visit from time to time, but that’s about it!

Yes there's certain roads that get flooded all the time due to poor drainage or construction but its nothing like houston here
