I have also studied up on raw feeding, I prefer rare, suppliments and nutrition and cook homemade for my three dogs. I’ve come to realize it doesn’t have to be rocket science or take lots of time. I have a 20 kgs male basset hound. Low activity level and sleeps all day. He's not a huge fan of dog food and won't eat unless I give him toppers. I'm wondering how much I can give him these cooked meals if I switch to homecook
I don't remember the answer but it's really available if you Google it. Basically you have to weigh your dog and it's a certain percentage of meat they need. The veggies are extra. I actually add a little more veggies than he did.
Wow you're the nicest pet owner. Some parents don't spend this much effort feeding their kids lol. On a side note I recently learned that most Coyote diets consist of 85% wild vegetables and only 15% meat from the occasional rabbit. So yeah, your dog is spoiled :-)

I'm wondering if I should feed my dog the same amount of homemade food that I do kibble he eats three cups a day of kibble I Blended his kibble to see when it is grinded up if it comes out to be more but it is the same
Hi there I am so glad I ran into your video. I'm tired of spending a lot of money for dog food I feel like they're eating better than I am, I have never heard of dogs eating eggshells, once cooked are they soft they won't choke once cooked? I have two small chiweenies puppies that are about 6 years old
If you are worried about egg shells, you can rinse them off and dry them. Then put them into a coffee grinder, or blender, and make them a powder. My dog also eats raw foods, and that includes raw bones. He'll eat a whole cornish hen, or a whole small chicken. He eats everything raw, bones and all. So a little egg shell is nothing to most dogs.
Not sure where you live. But, I find them regularly at Walmart, Jewel, and other stores. If you can't find it, that is ok. The heart is most of a muscle meat anyways. Yes, it is an organ (so is skin). But, the real organ meats are things like liver, kidney, tripe, etc.. So, don't worry if you cannot add the heart.
Just came across this amazing channel! I am currently transitioning my dog from kibble to homecooked. He’s a very picky eater and has lost a significant amount of weight. My question is, for weight gain, how much should i feed my dog this recipe daily? He is a lab pit mix, a little underweight. He’s currently 50lbs and needs to gain at least 5-8 more pounds just so his ribs are not showing
Lol! my dog would love this. By some bar cleaner and a scrubber sponge. Clean and wipe stove down. Then each time your done cooking spray 409 cleaner with bleach on stove and wipe down so it does not get build up again. The c Key is clean as you go.
Nope. I don't measure my food either. I just feed what I think my dog needs. He's always been a healthy weight. People get too crazy into exact measurements.
damsel In a dress ....I grew up on a farm and my mother always fed our dogs table scraps and egg shells. I guess I assumed everyone knew that the shells were good for them. I realized how wrong I was to assume this, when my lady friend was shocked when I gave her doggie an egg shell that I had crunched up. Laughing!!! (I started to see my life pass before my eyes.). BTW...if you ever raise chickens, you never want to let them eat any egg shells. The shells won’t hurt them, but it encourages them to break and eat the egg shell after laying it. You’ll soon run low on eggs.
The general rule is 2 to 5 percent of dogs body weight per day. 3% is a good starting point. Depends on breed, age, activity level, etc.. So you have about 150lbs of dog there. You'd need around 4.5 pounds of food per day for them at 3%.
Tonight I cooked my pup his first homemade meal, luckily he is a small dog so it’ll last him awhile. I made him ground chicken with peas, carrots, bell pepper, and sweet potatoes and liver . I also added hempseed oil, ginger, and sardines. I noticed you didn’t add any extra supplements, are they not necessary? I did cause I was told he wouldn’t get all his nutrients and they’d have to be added. Love the video!
Earthling1984 okay! It was an extra cost so that’s a plus, I was just worried switching him to a homemade diet and him not getting all the nutrients that dog food has especially since he’s also still a puppy. If he has a variety in his diet, he should get all the stuff he needs?
I feed my dogs your other two recipes and they love it! I am going to cook this today. I also put a little bit of dry dog food on to for a crunch element. Now that I don’t use much dry dog food I can afford to buy a better brand as it last way longer. My 3 dogs are super healthy.

All that protein is great but I would add a few more items like kale, flaxseed, coconut oil or sweet potatoes.
Do you need to give other vitamins and supplements to this recipe?
Where do you get chicken heart? I’ve went to 4 different store and no one had them? Is there Pacific day you get them at the store?
They say 2 to 4 percent body weight for home cooked. If you want weight gain, feed 4 to 6 percent for a couple weeks.
The only proper recipe on youtube
If you cook 2x/day on your stove you still gotta keep it clean.
Do you feed supplements in addition?
No supplements
Lol! my dog would love this. By some bar cleaner and a scrubber sponge. Clean and wipe stove down. Then each time your done cooking spray 409 cleaner with bleach on stove and wipe down so it does not get build up again. The c
Key is clean as you go.
What are your thoughts on brown rice and also quinoa?
Do you measure per feeding
Nope. I don't measure my food either. I just feed what I think my dog needs. He's always been a healthy weight. People get too crazy into exact measurements.
I make my doggies food as well. Never heard of adding the egg shells.
damsel In a dress ....I grew up on a farm and my mother always fed our dogs table scraps and egg shells.
Is this recipe safe for dogs with renal failure?
Wow this would last for alot for my chihuahua👌
How do you figure out the serving size for your dog? Mine are 70lbs. And 85 lbs. thanks for any info 😊
The general rule is 2 to 5 percent of dogs body weight per day. 3% is a good starting point. Depends on breed, age, activity level, etc.. So you have about 150lbs of dog there. You'd need around 4.5 pounds of food per day for them at 3%.
Hi Qhich other food do you give your dog together with this one you just fixed?
Tonight I cooked my pup his first homemade meal, luckily he is a small dog so it’ll last him awhile. I made him ground chicken with peas, carrots, bell pepper, and sweet potatoes and liver . I also added hempseed oil, ginger, and sardines. I noticed you didn’t add any extra supplements, are they not necessary? I did cause I was told he wouldn’t get all his nutrients and they’d have to be added. Love the video!
Basic answer, whoever told you that didn't know what they were talking about.
Earthling1984 okay! It was an extra cost so that’s a plus, I was just worried switching him to a homemade diet and him not getting all the nutrients that dog food has especially since he’s also still a puppy. If he has a variety in his diet, he should get all the stuff he needs?
@@caitlinbautista1186 my dog doesn't chew bones or eat sardines do I add bone meal?
I'm glad he makes food that humans can eat
Looks great I do meatloaf and stews I wondering as to potions my 7 months old is 78 pounds and would like to know as in to cups per day?
They say 2 to 5 percent body weight per day. Depending on age, breed, activity level, etc.. 3% is a good starting point.
