The Hannie Corner I remember selling my gameboy color to GameStop when I was 14 for less than a dollar. Like, why. That 64 cents or whatever wasn’t worth it. Kids are super dumb.
You guys think that's bad? When I was around 6 or 7, my older brother (by one year) traded our SNES AND ALL OF ITS GAMES for an ACTION FIGURE! A GOD DAMN ACTION FIGURE! JUST SOME GENERIC FIST-SIZED ACTION FIGURE!
I had the pixter. My mom emailed the company to complain about the pen placement because I’m left handed. Their response was basically “where else would we put it?” Sigh
Never owed one (I was a teenager when they came out), but I was working in a toy store at the time they were on the market. So I was quite familiar with them. I handled them in their packaging, I stacked them behind the counter, I sold them to parents, I may have even play a store demo of one (though I'm not entirely sure). They looked cool for a kids toy at the time, but I was rocking the Game Boy Advance back then and felt that it be a waste of money to buy one.

Mine was purple with green trim while his was blue with green trim. We didn't have any cartridges, but they were still a lot of fun! We mostly used the stamps to either stamp in a scene or a face, rather than free hand anything. We made all sorts of creative and interesting scenes and faces, just to crack up when we used the explode animation to blow them up. It also had a feature that allowed us to send creations back and forth between the devices. Sometimes we would steal each other's devices just to sabotage each other's most coveted saved art work. It was a lot of fun
I COMPLETELY forgot about this thing. This video unlocked memories I forgot I had. I must have been 4 years old when I got that original model. I remember picking it out at Toys R Us and deciding which of the cartridges to choose.

This video made me think of my old Vtech smile! My sister had a pixter, and we would play in the back of the car during the many 8 hour+ trips my family made.
When you do old leapfrog learning toys, theres one I vaguely remember. It was this handheld one where you twist the ends of this cylindrical toy to answer trivia or math and they have a multiplayer where you toss it to someone else hot potato-style. It also used cartridges with different games on it. I had fun with it with my brother when we were in grade school.
Not only do I remember the Pixter VERY fondly, I actually had TWO of them! One for me and one for my sister. Not only that, we also had SEVERAL cartridges for it, some of them are even duplicates of each other! I especially had a lot of fun playing on that thing... while it lasted before my parents gave them away. I'm genuinely surprised this thing isn't getting any info online AT ALL! Some examples of cartridges I enjoyed were a safari game, an frame-by-frame-based "action" cartridge, a racing game, and even the Rescue Heroes cartridge!
You should do a video on Adventure Quest. That 2D side scrolling anime style RPG. It was all browser based. I'm sure a lot of kids played this back in the day.
The Pixter was great! Man did I waste so much time on that thing growing up. I had so many game cartridges. I would haul them around in a gallon ziplock bag wherever I went lol! I had troubles figuring out what this toy was since my sister had the same toy when I was little. After watching one of her video diaries, I finally found out what the toy was called, the Pixter.
My baby game system of choice was the LeapFrog DIDJ. It had full blown 3D games on it like Star Wars The Clone Wars. I got the bundle with Sonic 1 on it. It was Sonic from the Genesis, except you had to do simple math problems to get checkpoints.
I had one of these and my parents got me the Dora game for it. You could create your own episode using scattered clips and I just filled up all the slots with Swiper saying “Oh man.” A bunch of times
This video dug up an obscure childhood memory of being on a super long road trip and playing with my Pixter in the back seat. I only remembered tic tac toe and being able to erase drawings with the lady bug effect. I also remember having to cover my head with a blanket because the screen didn't show up in bright sunlight.
holy shit someone else other than me knows about that little green piece of joy, I only had that and the rescue rangers one but god I loved the dino one. I don't even remember what you did in it but I do know that I loved it so much.
Nice classic Fujifilm shirt sir. I actually do phone support for the digital camera. I remember seeing these things on the market and being like "oh thats where all the balm pilot screens went."
Well, Nintendo likes to pretend that DS thing is still around. But also the idea that (basically full) Switches are about to become a thing every kid has is........kinda weird feeling. Like I'm happy about how wide spread tech has become but it feels a little off.
I had one of these. No games or extensions. And all I remember in the way of audio is the jingle "You got the pixter you got the power!" Unless it was something else called pixel something. Some drawing toy and it was either this or some off brand ripoff that had an advertising budget.
I managed to dig up my old original pixter with some type of dinosaur game in it. Also you should do the tiger electronics handhelds from the late 90's.
AHHH I had a Pixter color and I forgot it even existed until this video. When I think about it I can vividly remember a specific sound effect for certain drawing tools! Great video as always :)
I still have my old pixters somewhere. They were genuinely great for little kids (like myself at the time) I remember getting a gameboy advance for my birthday and never touched my pixter again :(
I had one when i was a baby but i barely remembered it. I knew i had "some game console esque toy with a color screen" but i didnt know what it was at all until now. Thanks billiam!
Incredible, watching this was like unlocking a memory. I always saw commercials for these when I was a kid but I'm glad my family got the Gameboy Advance/ Nintendo DS rather than one of these knowing their capabilities. However, the Pixter did remind me of one piece of tech I had when I was a kid. It was a blue and silver toy which was interactive in the same way the Pixter was - it was not backlit and could only do one color. The "power" button also "opened" the toy and would push a cover screen open. I wonder what that one was called...
my brother has the green one w the dino cartridge! i was too young to play with it when it came out but i remember using it from like 2004-2008 and we definitely still have it
bro i was OBSESSED with the fairly odd parents cartridge for this omg. i mean i feel like i was obsessed with this thing in general. i remember being in the back seat of the car in my own world playing pixter
Just so good Jumpstart DvD was great so remember crying at the end of the 2nd Grade Disc you know the one that you could make your own character. (Bro that deep research I forgot there was more then just one Google page 😂😂)
I used the heck out of this as a kid! This and the Leapfrog stuff. The music cart for the original was a ton of fun, and the Color Pixter had some really nice games for the age range. Like the world explorer and spongebob games I especially remember. I think if it still works by the time I have kids the Pixter will be a great way to introduce them to handheld tech without needing to worry about youtube autoplay or the, getting scammed.
I saved up my money for daaaaayyyys to get this. I can remember the commercial so clearly. I also remember playing with it for like 1 week and then adding it to my bin
Never had one of these, but I did have an original Leapster, then a Leapster 2 when that one broke, and also a Leapster but for the TV. Pretty interesting devices that I’d love to see on the channel!!
I had the fashion Pocket Pixter growing up, and while it was very annoying, I did love this thing, and happily brought it with me when I went to Disneyland for my 8th birthday.
WAIT A SEC I HAD ONE OF THESE!!!! I bought it at a yard sale and it came with the Barbie Fashion Show game that I played once (wasn’t into Barbies despite the other boys in my family liked Barbie). The screen ended up getting pressed too hard and it wouldn’t show the actual image anymore.
This video dug 10+ year old memories up from my childhood. (21 y.o rn) I loved the pixter color a lot but eventually it got pushed aside by the Nintendo ds. Me and my brother both had pixter colors and I'm pretty sure we wore them out near the end. I definitely remember playing the Barbie Doll cartridge a lot along with Scooby Doo, and Spongebob. By wore out I mean it was just old, no amount of AA batteries could help it any longer. Eventually I remember having a hard time even drawing on it because the touch lag was so bad, or it just stopped registering that it was even touched at all. I'm pretty sure that's why my parents just ended up getting me and brother each a ds. We loved Pokemon more anyways lol I'm pretty sure my parents gave us the pixters in 2004 because we were still in touch with my uncle. (Not deceased, we're just choosing no contact for reasons)I have good memories of playing the pixter for entire car trips to his house.
Can I suggest a "Was Weird"? topic? Creatures Was Weird? They were a franchise (it still technically exists but it's not really the same). There were three mainline games for the PC.
I remember this! I remember playing the dinosaur one all the time when I was younger, but I haven't thought about it much in years. Thank you for reminding me of my childhood.
Damn remember getting hyped for the Pixster color and than I upgraded to the Leapsterpad because that what all the cool first graders had in my school. I also remember there was some jingle when you turned on the pixster. It’s weird that I thought the Pixster was cool when I was kid and nowadays I see a bunch of kids with Kid versions of the Amazon Fire and Samsung Tablet.
I had the purple one and my grandma got me this for the holidays when I was super young, I think maybe when I was 7 or 8. I played it a lot during car rides.
Your search for this toy was similar to mine. I remembered it, had no idea what it was called, searched the internet, asked my family who had no idea what I was talking about, and then I accidentally discovered the name because I was just watching your video on leap frog where you mentioned it 😂😂😂 thank you, this has been driving me insane 😂😂😂
THANK YOU I had this distant memory of this thing, and for the past like 6 months i have been searching like crazy thinking i had some leapfrog thing as a kid but nope i had a pixter. The amount of satisfaction and relief i feel finally knowing im not compleatly insane is just amazing
My grandma had the green one at her house for years! my cousins and I used to use it a lot and draw each other the ugliest way possible on holidays. I remember being bored at her house and just turning it on to draw anime catgirls or pokemons with the sound of the ocean in the background and the sharp smell of sea breeze and cinnamon cookies
This video bring back weird memories. Like I know I had one when I was younger but which one? I look at the regular one and the color and I remember seeing these images but???
Do any of you remember a 2000s drawing tablet (2005-2009 maybe) that connected to the computer ? The pixter reminded me of it, it was a big white board with I think a purple border and a yellow stylus. But it functioned almost like a Wacom tablet, like you used the board to draw but could only see the drawing on the computer screen. If anyone knows what I'm talking about let me know! I've been trying to remember for years!
That brief picture/drawing of robot baby gave me real nostalgia holy crap. That was my favorite toy as a kid. I might still have it but I remember it's bottle not recognizing the doll anymore. Also it's constant crying. And sometimes it's crying would sound like a grown man trying to sound like a baby. Anyway thank you for resurfacing those wonderful memories even for a brief joke :,)
The thumbnail of this video was a huge nostalgia bomb! I had totally forgotten about my Pixter though I played with it constantly when I was 8 ish! I'm pretty sure I had one of the Pixter 2.0s, but it totally could have been one of the originals. Definitely not the color one though. I never did get any of the cartridges for it, or if I did it wasn't very memorable. I do remember chewing on the ridges of the drawing stick, and the sounds effects have definitely stayed buried in my brain, hearing them again was wild. So, thanks for making this video. I definitely would have completely forgotten about this decently large part of my childhood if you hadn't!
I remember one of this, i got one from a hand me down from my cousin living in the United States, i just remember the sound effects of putting a stickers on a painting
I had one of those. I vaguely remember it being pink? I had no idea what the hole in the top was for because my legal guardians never bought me any cartridges and I never saw any in stores. Thanks for clearing up the top hole for me lol
i had one of these! there was a music game that i liked where you could combine pre set sounds to make "songs" it was the original pixtar i believe bcse i remember it in black and white! god i almost thoight i imagined this device! i also remember a ghost stamp in the drawing game that went "a baba ba boo" and me and my brother loved it until he threw up on it and it broke. r.i.p. i also had a leapfrog laptop in the early 2000s that had a small black and white screen similar to the pixtar, it had 12 games or something - i liked the logic puzzles the most.

My baby game system of choice was the LeapFrog DIDJ. It had full blown 3D games on it like Star Wars The Clone Wars. I got the bundle with Sonic 1 on it. It was Sonic from the Genesis, except you had to do simple math problems to get checkpoints.
11:12 Jotaro! Wow so great much good 11/10 amazing
"That wasn't just cold brew, that was cold brew concentrate. That was alot."
9:36 *Goes for second sip*
I had one of these and my parents got me the Dora game for it. You could create your own episode using scattered clips and I just filled up all the slots with Swiper saying “Oh man.” A bunch of times
Holy cow I had been looking everywhere for this!! It was a distant memory that I only knew how it looked like thanks to an old xmas pic
This video dug up an obscure childhood memory of being on a super long road trip and playing with my Pixter in the back seat. I only remembered tic tac toe and being able to erase drawings with the lady bug effect. I also remember having to cover my head with a blanket because the screen didn't show up in bright sunlight.
I loved the Pixter, it was so cool as a kid. I especially remember the Dinosaur cartridge
YES THE DINOSAUR CARTRIDGE!!!
The dinosaur one was the best
holy shit someone else other than me knows about that little green piece of joy, I only had that and the rescue rangers one but god I loved the dino one. I don't even remember what you did in it but I do know that I loved it so much.
Nice classic Fujifilm shirt sir. I actually do phone support for the digital camera. I remember seeing these things on the market and being like "oh thats where all the balm pilot screens went."
I would like to see a video about Humungous Entertainment and JumpStart games. :) I loved those as a kid!
"Ken, you made one fatal mistake in our relationship, you pissed me off"
Well, Nintendo likes to pretend that DS thing is still around.
You never fail to create good content. Keep up the work man. Maybe you could cover Shaman King, Xiolin Showdown, Megaman NT Warrior or Mucha Lucha.
I miss Shaman King D: I had the entire manga collection and watched the show religiously on Saturday mornings
I still have my old pixters somewhere. They were genuinely great for little kids (like myself at the time) I remember getting a gameboy advance for my birthday and never touched my pixter again :(
I kinda remember this, maybe my younger brother had this? But I had a GB/C/A growing up. So I never felt the need to get another "system".
I had one when i was a baby but i barely remembered it. I knew i had "some game console esque toy with a color screen" but i didnt know what it was at all until now. Thanks billiam!
I have literally been trying to remember the name of this for over a year now! THANK YOU for the reassurance that I'm not insane and making it up
6:51 Don't feel bad about your drawing skills Billy, that Knuckles you did is actually pretty good!
OMG do a video on the Leap Start tablets and games ASAP that like the only thing that I ever had before my DSI
You take notes on your iPad with your Apple Pencil?
No no, I take my med school notes on my Pixter
my brother has the green one w the dino cartridge! i was too young to play with it when it came out but i remember using it from like 2004-2008 and we definitely still have it
My favorite TH-cam hipster
bro i was OBSESSED with the fairly odd parents cartridge for this omg. i mean i feel like i was obsessed with this thing in general. i remember being in the back seat of the car in my own world playing pixter
Pretty interesting devices that I’d love to see on the channel!!
ah, this was one of my favorite toys when i was a kid! i always loved the sound effects lol
Same with me, bought it at a garage sale and totally forgot about it until now..
This video dug 10+ year old memories up from my childhood. (21 y.o rn)
I loved the pixter color a lot but eventually it got pushed aside by the Nintendo ds.
We loved Pokemon more anyways lol
I'm pretty sure my parents gave us the pixters in 2004 because we were still in touch with my uncle.
Creatures with the norns? If it's those games you mean they were a pretty big hit and then they just... vanished.
I remember this! I remember playing the dinosaur one all the time when I was younger, but I haven't thought about it much in years.
Thank you for reminding me of my childhood.
You've unlocked memories I didn't even know I had..
Dude love your videos!! Very well researched and really funny, keep up!
I had the purple one and my grandma got me this for the holidays when I was super young, I think maybe when I was 7 or 8. I played it a lot during car rides.
Not going to lie, I never buy youtuber merch, but I would buy a Big Coffee Energy shirt.
12:15 that looks like it could be key art to some 90s sega saturn exclusive jrpg that was released only in japan
GOOGLE PAGE 3?!? *I LITERALLY CAN'T REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I WENT PAST PAGE 1*
Holy shit in just finished rewatching your old bionicle video!? I mean LITERALLY JUST FINISHED then you upload!? *WHAT'RE THE ODDS*
Thank you for reminding me that this was a thing that existed
That brief picture/drawing of robot baby gave me real nostalgia holy crap.
That was my favorite toy as a kid. I might still have it but I remember it's bottle not recognizing the doll anymore. Also it's constant crying. And sometimes it's crying would sound like a grown man trying to sound like a baby.
Anyway thank you for resurfacing those wonderful memories even for a brief joke :,)
I used to have the Pixter Multi-Media System when I was little. I didn’t have any games, so I just messed with the apps that were already in there
The thumbnail of this video was a huge nostalgia bomb!
I want hotwheels computer now
I remember one of this, i got one from a hand me down from my cousin living in the United States, i just remember the sound effects of putting a stickers on a painting
Holy sh- this unlocked childhood memories I didn’t even know I had. I forgot about this thing! I loved it so much! Dude! Take me back 😭
I had one of those. I vaguely remember it being pink? I had no idea what the hole in the top was for because my legal guardians never bought me any cartridges and I never saw any in stores. Thanks for clearing up the top hole for me lol
Anyone remember the jumpstart for grade 1? With robot character. Good times
That was grade 3, at least in America. Grade one had Frankie the Dachshund.
i had one of these! there was a music game that i liked where you could combine pre set sounds to make "songs" it was the original pixtar i believe bcse i remember it in black and white! god i almost thoight i imagined this device! i also remember a ghost stamp in the drawing game that went "a baba ba boo" and me and my brother loved it until he threw up on it and it broke. r.i.p.
i also had a leapfrog laptop in the early 2000s that had a small black and white screen similar to the pixtar, it had 12 games or something - i liked the logic puzzles the most.
Yoooo is that a mothafacking jojo reference!?
*NANI!?*
More than a reference.
