@@uglygiantbagsofmostlywater yeah if I'm doing a touch up, I go with matte spray. If I'm stripping and repainting the full fig very detailed I'm do the bath.
It never ceases to amaze me just how big of a difference it makes by adding a touch of black shoe polish wash to these figures. I also have to say that the slight touch of silver on all the buckles, spikes and straps completely makes the figure pop in the best possible way. As always you’ve done it again! Excellent job!👍🏻😎
4:27 From what I understand, the level of fidelity in a figure's sculpt has no impact on production costs. The amount of moving parts and paint hits is where it apparently gets costly. I'm not surprised McFarlane sacrificed paint for greater articulation compared to earlier "figures," which were glorified statues.
You know? I'd love to see you do some "kitbashing" with these models, mixing 2 or more collectibles! Like (in this case) you could mix this Batman with Batfleck's Batman for a heavy metal Batfleck or something like that.
Awesome work, love your channel, it's inspired lots of my customs, although not to the level of detail that you put in but a lot of fun, I've started making TH-cam shorts of my customs I've been making recently and name checked your work where appropriate!
Hey man I take apart mcfarlane figures all the time if you submerge the figure in boiling hot water he fully comes apart including the diper area!! no cutting needed! Thank you for being badass.
Hey will you do the, the batman 2022 McFarlane action figure when it comes out! It's pretty weird don't want to judge based on the pics we got but hey just letting you know
I hope to see some more Batman figure makeovers from the Arkham series and maybe a makeover of the eaglemoss Arkham Asylum Batmobile and the toy collectible version of the Arkham knight Batmobile. Would live to see what ideas you would do for them.
Thanks for these videos on customization. Just wanted to ask if the shoe paint stay on the figure permanently or do they rub off? Do you need a protective coating just to keep everything on the plastic?
I actually ordered three of him I wanna have one original , I just made one like yours it is not as good as yours but I like it and now I'm waiting for the number 3 so I try to make one with a cape ! But the figure is fantastic ... really !
To take off the parts you want to paint separately you don't need to cut anything, just heat the figure up with bowling water, or an hairdryer and pop off the piece.
you did a awesome job on that Batman I have the same Batman might do something similar to that I do not know but the only thing that I won't do is cut do any cutting on my Batman cuz I know me I probably really mess it up and then I really like that figure too much have a great safe day
Great video as always Chris. Random question - does your hand shaking get worse when you're trying to do small fiddly things like when you're painting these figures and things like trying to put a screwdriver into a screw?
I really like this figure for the sheer badassery of its look. I picked up the one that came with the red guitar. The guitar itself is a bit of a disappointment, as it's made of a softer plastic, and gravity bends the fret bar downward while the figure holds it.
Just coming from being a mini painter. As long as it's a heavy body acrylic or specifically made model acrylic you should be safe with washes. Don't know what it is about the cheaper ones and activating whenever another paint or water touches them. Definitely look into something like vallejo for it though, they'll work a shit ton better with stuff like that. with their metallics though the more expensive ones are great but the standard line ones can be a bit shit
Loved it Chris! For future McFarlane figs tho, no need to cut the diaper, you can super easily detach the legs and then slide it off in one piece!
Yo Justin love your videos man, keep up the good work!!!💯🔥🔥🔥
You’re a gem! Thank you, Mister J 😎
I was about to say the same thing... a small flathead screwdriver is all it takes, then you don't have to glue shit!
Hi
A big account had to tell him for him to finally listen. I always skip your cutting, it makes me cry. LOL
Dish soap and hot water bath helps remove the coating that makes paint bead away. Helps paint adhere far better. For anyone interested in that trick.
I was typing the same thing until I read your post. What also sometimes works (if it's not the mold residue) is just praying it with a matt varnish.
@@uglygiantbagsofmostlywater yeah if I'm doing a touch up, I go with matte spray. If I'm stripping and repainting the full fig very detailed I'm do the bath.
Why do you cut the diaper off instead of just disassembling the thing?
Never ceases to amaze me with how much potential exists in these figures if you put a bit of work into them. Another 10/10 Chris 👌

That’s absolutely sick dude, top 5 best modified Batman look, Great job man keep it up!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🦇🦇
One of your best McFarlane improvements
I just brought this figure and knew it could be better. I found your vid and you made me a believer. Great job.
Love it man! Just bought this magnificent figured today. Thank you for posting this too!
Love when you do anything Batman related in your videos
I love your positive attitude and good vibes👍❤️. Keep up the good work
One basic paint Batman in to one Badass Batman great work brother !!!
NICE. Always a great piece.
Looks dope!
Can't wait to see you do the Battinson figure, as soon as they release it.
This is sick! I'd love to see a Batman Who Laughs custom collectable!
Man this is amazing. I'm going to try it with my figure. Thank you.
This absolutely crazy, I will do this to mine, hope I can do it as good as you, this blew my mind 🤯
Wow Chris what a fabulous job. Major difference
Amazing work
🎶 you'll need your knife, check. Rope, check. Dagger, check.
Murmaider, murmaider, murmaider!
That trench coat looks sick as hell on the death metal superman also!
Dats BADASS. I hope we get more like this ina future so we don’t gotta do it ourselves
it looks sick! McFarlane should use this as a sample to paint his action figures
Nicely done! You brought that figure to it's full potential.
Damn way better looks great. They need to hire you to show them how figures should look.
Awesome work, love your channel, it's inspired lots of my customs, although not to the level of detail that you put in but a lot of fun, I've started making TH-cam shorts of my customs I've been making recently and name checked your work where appropriate!
This is awesome! Great work bro! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
OMG.... perfect job! ♥
I just got into death metal , that was a banger of a series . Thanks for making this video👍🏾
Wow! I wasn't interested in this figure until this video. Now I'm definitely going to get it so I can turn it into this.
Loved this one. The Death Metal Batman is one of my favorite of the McFarlane figures. I can’t wait to see which figure you do next.
Literally saw this on Facebook. Commented and now came here because i didn't realize there was another video. I just wasn't ready this time.
Good job bro, the figure looks much better with those changes 😃👍
Another excellent video Chris great job bro
Awesome ! I do the same few weeks ago but not in brown, such a great figure with a lot of details ! McFarlane is really great in sculpt
Another masterpiece! The simplest techniques go such a long way.
That's awesome I just purchased this figure man, but you're version is far more better.
Also a thin coat of matte clear and washes or paints stick perfect to the figures.
Awesome custom love your work
Great custom as always Chris! Now cosplay it 😉
That really is a dope ass looking suit even without the coat on it.
There’s a Toy Bat-Hog bike For metal Batman to ride on too Chris. And great video too .
Ver very cool Chris good job
I dig the bat vest look!
Looks awesome. What would make it even better is if you added some white paint to the black lantern ring on his left hand
McFarlane be like "here's an awesome sculpt paint it yourself"
Looks great! I am inspired!
This came out awesome. You should do his motorcycle too, it's just as gnarly.
And maybe curse of the white knight cycle too
Hey man I take apart mcfarlane figures all the time if you submerge the figure in boiling hot water he fully comes apart including the diper area!! no cutting needed! Thank you for being badass.
Maybe the Marvel Legends Ikarus figure for your next custom collectible? Great base. I think you could do wonders with it
Please keep these videos going Chris. Love them. If I can suggest the next figure? Damian Wayne or Bizzarro. I love those figures.
Practico, sencillo y excelente video gracias por compartirlo
You should cosplay this Batman , it would be awesome
400% better at least. I'd live to see old McFarlane era ears on him, though.
I have the same figure and now after watching your awesome custom job im gonna do the same it just looks so damn cooler job well done my man 👌👏👏
Hey Chris, will you do a repaint of the batcycle for this figure?
Hell yeah!! If I may suggest a future custom, get a Negan figure from McFarlane and use the Jeffrey dean morgan head to make a flashpoint batman??
That would be awesome.
Chris it’s not hard to pull the legs off on the McFarlane figures so you won’t have to cut them. Just pull in them a little and they should pop off
That was so cool!!
Love you Chris

Radical man.
You really should have given him some dripping sweaty eye shadow. Just me, but that would have looked awesome
Wow. Now That is a upgraded!
I would have used a lighter brown to dry brush the wraps on the scythe to make it look like leather wrappings over the wood.
Thanks for these videos on customization. Just wanted to ask if the shoe paint stay on the figure permanently or do they rub off? Do you need a protective coating just to keep everything on the plastic?
Once done it actually reminds me of a Jim Lee Batman style
There really is no need to cut the figure. It can easily come apart and be put together.
Hey Chris - You should try making a Live Action cosplay costume based on this Action figure.
I think it'll be a Nice Challenge for you.
Outstanding! :D
Awesome custom
Do the dark knight movie mcfarlane figures
I actually ordered three of him I wanna have one original , I just made one like yours it is not as good as yours but I like it and now I'm waiting for the number 3 so I try to make one with a cape !
But the figure is fantastic ... really !
Please make a ccc of the MK 11Noob Saibot figure from McFarlane
You don't need to slice any of these parts. A little heat and the figure disassembles very easy. Then just pop back together after paint.
massive improvement! ~what glue do you use so you don't get the frosted edge when using on plastic?
Oh man it's like watching recreating a Batffleck haciendo cosplay de Batman Death Metal. Ufff
We need some "find the happy medium" merch
Do regular acrylic paints do it too? Planning to repaint Fearstate Scarecrow once I find him because my god the vibrant colours they used💀
Love it!
Im doing this. Im gonna buy this fig just for this.
Did you added some laquer at the end? Amazing custom
To take off the parts you want to paint separately you don't need to cut anything, just heat the figure up with bowling water, or an hairdryer and pop off the piece.
At the end
Awh yeah ok looks alright. Not too different
*shows comparison with original*
OH F$!@ IT LOOKS AMAZING
Well done dude
you did a awesome job on that Batman I have the same Batman might do something similar to that I do not know but the only thing that I won't do is cut do any cutting on my Batman cuz I know me I probably really mess it up and then I really like that figure too much have a great safe day

you should do the batcycle as well !
Loved the custom Chris, just a question, does the shoe polish leave a pungent smell on the figure? sorry for the noob question

Hot Toys or Side Show need to get on this and give us a 1/6 figure.
Definitely should cosplay
Hey Chris, What ever happened to the Logo Cosplay Project?
Great work, but Chris you don't need to cut the figure, you can remove that part by removing the legs.
A blank canvas is a perfect way to describe McFarlane figures now they have no detail
Any chance we will see a McFarlane grim knight custom?
12:43 That before and after shot looks like a completely different figure 🙌
