Damn, Chris! Another amazing repaint! You have become my go-to guy for ideas, colors, paint info, and even materials and "outside the box" ways of reworking a figure. Hats off and know you lead the way for a lot of us out here having a lot of fun repainting figures! Thanks so much!
A version with normal shades is commercially available. Note that the regular version comes with a batarang to put (or not) in his right hand. Btw I live in Europe so maybe it's not available in your country or it's the exclusivity of a shop? Edit: I hadn't started the video yet when I read your comment so yeah, Chris talks about it himself.
Looks amazing Chris I especially like how after you made the suit grey how it made the details pop out and ready for final touches to add extra emphasis to them and with the lenses just makes it look bad ass
My god! Chris, your another animal, a different breed of artistic talent man. Wow! I love this, this gave me some real badass vibes almost like if you put this piece on a corner of a high shelf he’s looking down over you😅 so menacing, bruiting, and beautiful. Killer piece man, can’t wait to see more🤘🏼🦇🔥
the key with painting is eye is to never use white white. When i do figures I always use a pale skin tone then i paint in the iris and pupil. its not too hard but for the biggest takeaway is never use white for eyes.
I like this version better. Gargoyle base and no batarangs on the hand. And also the art this statue based on has no eyes, it's like a comic book version art style so it's good that you paint it only white, there's no eyesculpt in there at all anyways. That fleshtone is amazing, glad you finally put that tutorial to use
It could be an amazing idea trying to do only a bronze wash after the black primer (with some patina effect) to make a Batman bronze statue; this figure and its pose are perfect to do something like this
Great work Chris. I am confident if you painted some eyeballs it would still look killer with your talents. I feel its the only thing short of making it a 10/10.
That method with the lighter colour before grey was very interesting. Hairdressers use a very similar method if they want to dye dark hair: before, they "lift" the dark pigments to get the hair light. Only after that you will be able to see the artificial colour.
Hi! great video! I have a question you may find stupid but the thing bugg me. You do apply shoe polish to your customs a lot. Don't they smell of it afterwards? and does the shoe polish actually holds? Also you dilute it with water 50 to 50 or in different proportions?
I would like to see Chris pull off a cosplay for Moon Knight: The white suit, the black and white suit, and the Mr. Knight suit. If he can do that, that would be epic. But does he have the gumption?
Hey Chris! Big fan here, absolutely LOVED this video. And I was wondering, would you do a custom paint job for the McFarlane dark knight returns Batman? It’s one of my favourite McFarlane figures and I would love to see what you could do to it. Love your stuff!
Love these custom collectables videos Chris! If memory serves me correctly weren't you working on a very large Iron Man years ago? The one you showed part of in your Hulkbuster video
So I have this same one that is black and red, unopened, and was wondering is this going to increase in value because of it's collectability? It's a Jim Lee statue so how many of these are there?
I purchased this on release and kind of wished it wasn't black/red though I don't hate it. All black is amazing and if I had known they were bringing out one I would've waited. I wouldn't attempt this myself, but nice job.
If you need a cheat for eyes, use the same trick artists do, the pupils line up with the ends of the mouth perfectly, if you want them looking to the side use a compas to measure the mouth and the pupils will line up on the opposite eye 👌
I think it looks amazing, especially the mouth section but with the eyes I’d say I would have added a slight gradient along the outside, the pure white is cool if it wasn’t going for super realistic, they eyes just look a little unfinished, I think it would possibly help with the buggy eye issue
I think the only thing I would’ve done differently was add a bit of gloss to the cowl because it leather, but wow man this looks so epic
Yeah man I get we’re you’re coming from! I guess I’m a sucker for a nice matte finish 😁
@@CosplayChris Hey Chris doing the moon knight show cosplay will be so cool
@@knightwolf2361 is he gonna do that?
Should have toned down the eyes a bit too with watered down black shoe polish.. amazing work!
@@Rafael-qd3yq I really don't know i hope he does

I like this pose a lot more than the realistic one McFarlane offers. The face plate came out amazing, flesh tones are hard and you did phenomenal
Heck yes! This was amazing. I saw that in the store and was wishing it wasn’t black/red… miiiiigjt grab one for this

the red and black is more unique tbh
Looks incredible mate! Not that any of your customs have been bad by any means, your skills have improved so much. So much respect.
Been watching you off and on for ages, and you're definitely getting custom figs dialed in...this is amazing work.
Man, that is wicked. Absolutely love the way you brought out those flesh tones.
Looks amazing Chris I especially like how after you made the suit grey how it made the details pop out and ready for final touches to add extra emphasis to them and with the lenses just makes it look bad ass
These are the best toy video ever
It kinda reminds me of the 90s crazy toys but absolutely awesome batman suits. Miss those
Wow😮 the way you made him look even better 👊👊👊👊👊👊👊👊
The final result is incredible, you nailed it!!
Thanks, it's been a cracker of a day so I needed a nice relaxing CC CC video to unwind

The ochre trick and the mouth plate looks good! Great job, Chris!

Amazing job! I like having my red and black Jim Lee inspect one in my PC case with red leds though 😁
Chris, such awesome work! What a way to brighten our day and the positivity at the end!
It was already beautiful, but you made it extraordinary. Awesome video.
Man, you have everything there ! Good work, and thanks for the recommendations !
looks great Chris keep it up
I just ordered the red one. Maybe some day I'll do what you did. You make it look so good and it's a great instructive tutorial
I'd love to see you keep the red and black version the same....but just add more flair and detail! Great video!
Very cool Chris!!! And you're absolutely right the face plate wash came out amazing!!! A paler version would not have looked as good IMO.
It turned out awesome.
Awesome great job 💯 better looking

Wow that looks awesome !!!! You arena true master Chris
You’re amazing Chris❤️. Don’t ever change👍
Wow!! This was an amazing makeover! KEEP ON THE GOOD WORK!!!!
I can't believe how well he does the batman voice in the intro!
Batman looks good without a cape
Excelent work, congratulations!!!!
the white eyes looks menacing! would be cool if they do something like that in the sequel
Nicely done. I saw that in a store, the red and black like that just isn't for me but maybe the other version - can never have enough Batman statues!
Unbelievable brother this looks insanely cool
GREAT FLESH TONE PAINTING!
could you also pimp ou the riddler statue from mcfarlane, i think he needs some washes and stuff, to look more realistic. great job on this one
I would love to see a Batman figure like that one but under the rain. That would be amazing.
Woww
Your face painting technique is so awesome.
Awesome! On Top of Awesome!!
It could be an amazing idea trying to do only a bronze wash after the black primer (with some patina effect) to make a Batman bronze statue; this figure and its pose are perfect to do something like this
excellent work chris!
You’re killing it Chris! Looks bad ass, would be dope if u could make the eyes glow
that came out great
Totally awesome!
Fantastic work man that looks amazing!
I bought the red version and bought the black to repaint. I love the red version, would hate to paint over it.
Really like the skin tone that you made using the shoe polish, I think I will use your technique 👍
Wow!! Amazing!! Fucking awesome job mate!! 👍👍 It look's way, way better after, then before!! Nice done Chris!🙂👍
Brooo!!!! This is insane!!!! Such a great job. You made that 40$ statue into a 200$ statue. Great work 👏
the white eyes look great
Chris, did you use any specific color yellow and red or just a basic tone for the washes?.. Thanks
Great work, yet again. Absolutely love it.
I hope we eventually get a live action Batman movie that keeps the white eye lenses, love that look
I was waiting for someone to do this!
Great work Chris. I am confident if you painted some eyeballs it would still look killer with your talents. I feel its the only thing short of making it a 10/10.
Duuuuddeee you should repaint one of these in the OG blue and yellow. That would look mint.
Nice one 👍 👌 👏
I would have added some resin drops so he looked like he was in the rain. It looks awesome
In-cr-oy-able ! 💯💯💯
Sooo much better 👏
Very cool I enjoyed this video sir!
Simply the best
That has to be one of my favourites you've done so far, the other being the turtles
Clicked watched loved it looks absolutely sick love it job well done Chris 🙏🏼
Oh...i thought chris put the red on it....i was freaking out like "wow incredible concept!!
This turned out amazing but I think I still want the black/red one.

Looks amazing. For the watered down paints and polished for the mouth, what’s the general ratio you use for water:paint? Thanks!
Hi! great video! I have a question you may find stupid but the thing bugg me. You do apply shoe polish to your customs a lot. Don't they smell of it afterwards? and does the shoe polish actually holds? Also you dilute it with water 50 to 50 or in different proportions?
The skin and eyes are 💯
When all in black, I got super Batman Beyond vibes
What's a good liquitex alternative if we're not using airbrush?
I would like to see Chris pull off a cosplay for Moon Knight: The white suit, the black and white suit, and the Mr. Knight suit.
If he can do that, that would be epic. But does he have the gumption?
Amazing job! Can you please list all that was used on this projects such as all the types of paints etc?
If they made a Batman beyond with the same suit design I’d literally cream my pants
I love it definitely interested.

Love these custom collectables videos Chris! If memory serves me correctly weren't you working on a very large Iron Man years ago? The one you showed part of in your Hulkbuster video
I saw the figure at Walmart and will be buying. I haven’t seen a normal version. Just the Jim Lee red version.
It would be cool to get another one of these and make it look like a stone statue
I'd pay for your cross eyed "I'm vengeance" Battinson!
I much prefer these larger custom collectibles. Much more opportunities to really go to town on them.
12:38 the way the pink tape is sitting on his neck and chest makes it kinda look like the Keaton Batman cowl lol
So I have this same one that is black and red, unopened, and was wondering is this going to increase in value because of it's collectability? It's a Jim Lee statue so how many of these are there?
Epic model

I wouldn't attempt this myself, but nice job.
This is really cool, but you do know that they have a version of that figure in the grey and black color scheme already right?
If you need a cheat for eyes, use the same trick artists do, the pupils line up with the ends of the mouth perfectly, if you want them looking to the side use a compas to measure the mouth and the pupils will line up on the opposite eye 👌
Amazing man!!
Yo chris can you please do a video on the mcfarlene riddler. It would look so cool with your other batman
Amazing!
Great work
Great work!
I know how much you love your matte paints. But don't shy away from the gloss!
Wow, just that!
could you do the vox machina figurines next??? they look like they have so much potential like every mcfarlane figure
very cool i like it great! :)
