The reason to listen to more Dimash is not "better" or "worse" than SOS - it is to experience more Dimash. Each song has Dimash singing (which is enough), but it also has it's own special dynamic that makes it special. For example, "Unforgettable Day" has a great melody (how a song that I know not a word of can become an ear worm days after I last heard it, I do not know) - but has the highest note anyone has recorded being sung. "Ave Maria" has an incredible heavenly feel and all without a single word ever being sung.

You must watch his music video/ mini movie The Story of One Sky! He took 3 years to compose it he wrote the screenplay, acted in and sang all the vocals! It’s his personal masterpiece, be prepared to be moved by it because it is a call to the world about the futility of war!

I prefer Sinful Passion and quite a few other songs to SOS. But on the subject of MVs, there's a special reason to see the Story of One Sky music video, even if you see the live version . It's not just a vocal masterpiece; there's a powerful message that comes across even more with the footage.
As a Dear, I don’t think Sinful Passion is better than SOS but it displays some additional vocal flexes such as that yodel and that last run was 21 seconds on one breath so it displays his breath control. Stranger from New Wave 2021 is a better representation of his range. He sings about 4 octaves in that song from very low to very high. That should be your next listen. It has all the elements of vocals, performance and charisma. Thanks for reacting to him.

Sinful Passion - The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. Moreover, in the final part he added, with an oriental technique (from the Kazakhstan region). The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band name is A'Studio (Kazakh pop music group based in Russia, "Alma-Ata Studio", Almaty city). The dead singer (who Dimash was a fan of) left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poetess Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, who is the long-haired keyboardist, who we see in the video that accompanies Dimash.

Hi BP, so glad you're extending your Dimash journey, although I loved your reactions with your friends to SOS 🤗. I hope you will react to the MV 'Be with me' (an ode to his idol Micheal Jackson, to his friend Jackie Chan and he raps in his mother tongue). Totally different and shows you the extreme versality Dimash holds. He is in his own league for sure.
There is a video with English subs. His voice is unmatched and can't be compared to anybody as nobody can do what he does with his amazing voice. He trains every single day and ensures his voice is in tip top condition. Mariah used to be able to hit a whistle note but can't do it any more, unfortunately. I could never choose one song over another with Dimash, all are so good and incredible in their own right. Yes he's from Kazakhstan, sings in 14 languages with his incredible 7.2 octave range. Have you heard him rap, cos he does!

Dears will give you great recommendations, and all of them will be worth listening to. To add a few (some might already be in the comments): Olympico, Stranger, Daybreak, Story of One Sky, Ave Maria. There all live performancs of all these. I've been listening to Dimash every single day since August 2019, and it's almost impossible to say one of his songs is better than another. But what we do have a 100% guarantee on, is that he puts something completely different on the table with every song, and each performance of a song. By now, we can only expect the unexpected with Dimash. Or, you could maybe react to an entire concert. Stranger Concert, Almaty (and more) is on Dimash's own channel in 3 parts.
Whoa! It's almost as if you're following my browsing history, with Dimash, Ren and The Big Push. I discovered The Big Push and Ren almost 2 years ago, and only recently discovered Dimash. Dimash has voices and range that shouldn't be possessed by just one human being. SOS is one of the best songs I've ever heard.

Nice reaction. SOS is amazing and always one of my favorites because it was the first song I heard him sing. For me his other songs just add on to his abilities in usually a surprising way. SOS is the pinnacle for me. It's like when he starts that song, a curtain is parted revealing the existence of magic in the fabric of the universe. I get non-stop chills listening to SOS, and I can't stop my eyes from tearing. If I'm watching a reactor listen to him for the first yime, I sometimes sob.
Is that ridiculous? Sure, but the only way of preventing it from happening is to NOT revisit the song, and that's simply not an option.

I love all the different flavors of Dimash. Each song is unique and extraordinary. I have my favorites and both SOS and Sinful Passion are among my favorites. SOS was my introduction to him so I think I will always have a special place in my soul for it (though I prefer both the Slavic Bazaar and Singer versions of it over the digital show version).
