- As a watch enthusiast I am a sucker for nostalgia. It is one of the many facets of the watch hobby that I love. Watches become more than an extravagant purchase. The stories we associate with them; the memories that these luxury items carry with them live beyond our lifespan. It is easy to get caught up in the newest or next watch purchase. When we slow down, however, and remember that watches are for wearing, we create those memories. It is then when we are reminded of the beauty and magic on the wrist. Make every day excellent with your beloved timepiece.

That, my friend, was THE best video for a Rolex Submariner, let alone ANY watch, EVER! It's besides the point that the Rolex Sub is, after long deliberation, my chosen next watch! My first watch was given to me by my Dad, for my thirteenth birthday (I'm 57 now)! So, I'm a one watch kind of guy, and that ONE watch is now going to be a Sub.👍
Wow, I’m flattered. These type of comments are exactly what I imagined a perfect comment would be when I was filming this project. It really was a passion project. I always say this, I envy the guy that buys one great watch, wears it everyday and never wants another watch. The Rolex submariner is the best one watch, get it! 😁. I am fortunate enough to own several watches from the Rolex and Cartier collections. So I can easily go a couple of weeks wearing one of my other watches. However, every time I put my ceramic sub back on, I'm reminded why this watch is the epitome of a masculine sports watch.
It's just that watch that does everything and goes anywhere seamlessly.
So if you are truly a one watch guy, you will not find a better choice.

Absolutely stunning piece of filmmaking. Completely enveloped what it feels like to own this watch and be looking forward to passing it down to the next generation at some point. I’m a decently financially stable hard working blue collar family man who rarely ever spends anything on myself. Put 2k a year away for a few years for when the 124060 came out. Got it before the extreme hype near retail. Wear it every day. Have gotten 3x redeemed in enjoyment. Really enjoyed seeing you lift weights wearing it. I do the same thing all the time. Are you the elusive one watch man!? 😅 I envy you 1000%. I’m so deep into the hobby now that it’s too late for me. Unless I decide to sell it all. In that case the Submariner would most likely be my choice. Some say it’s a boring choice, but it’s a damn near perfect watch that becomes unique to the wearer over time. I like this video a lot. Well done! It’s a premium piece of time keeping luxury yet it’s meant to be worn, incredibly reliable, and durable. They were watches that were designed to be used. This would be a better Rolex commercial than the commercials that fantasize what it means to have the watch and wear it every day. Five stars. Thank you for sharing.

114060 is pure class with out the cyclops wort true classic sub best one to date in my opinion 🔥👌

yeah, I upgraded from the 114060 to the 124060. It took a little time to adjust to the latest 41mm (tapered lugs) version. Seemed like the outgoing version had more wrist presence. However….I Totally get it now. Rolex really know what they’re doing. It’s masterful and all about symmetry & proportion. Now, I feel like my 124060 ‘pops’ but with more elegant curves.

@@TN48005 my brother as the 124060 he not mad on the claps is definitely to big for the watch he doesn't like the noise the rotor makes gritty grinding noise, apparently The new movement uses a ball bearing on the rotor which makes it more noisy .

This video is one of the very best I’ve ever seen. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻It makes me reconsider selling my 114060 (I don’t wear it in public settings, only in private and at home).
For me it is quite the opposite, I wear my 114060 on most days, I try to live my life in it because I know it can handle it. I want this watch to tell the story of my life one day. Don’t sell it if you don’t have to! Enjoy that beautiful watch every single day.
@@ChristopherNegroni I think I will probably keep it since it’s my favourite of all my watches (and my only Rolex). Your video impacted me and reminded me why I got it in the first place. Problem is I’m a public servant with frequent media exposure and just don’t want to be judged which is why I wear it on private occasions. The only one of my watches that would be recognised in public is my 114060. Basically nobody except my wife knows I’m a watch nerd 😃. I’m really into acquiring the Santos medium your wife has (my wrists are 6.4 inches). Since I have a big birthday coming up! It seems really all round but also refined and elegant. My daily wearers are a Speedy, two Grand Seiko 37 mm SBGR251 and 253. Both are low profile and alternatives to 36 mm OP’s or Datejusts. I have a classic blue “Walter White” Monaco Calibre 12 but it tends to get less wrist time as it is bulky and flashy (although I love it for what it is), and a couple of Hamiltons and a 20 year old low key brushed A17345 Breitling Superocean 40 mm. By the way I also binge watched when I had down periods all those TH-camrs you mentioned in your latest video. Like therapy at times 😉
@@linushyden7634 yes please keep the Rolex. I believe you’ll regret it deeply later in life. Maybe there will come a time where you can wear it more. I really like the watches you’ve chosen in your watch collection so far. Speedys are basically only recognized by watch enthusiast, but it’s still a great watch that anyone can be proud of. And the Walter white! I’m such a huge breaking bad fan, I was never a fan of that watch until I saw it on Walter white. In a way it was the perfect watch for that character and it was poetic the way he left it at a phone booth after it had been through it all, maybe signifying how he’s leaving all that behind.

Rocky's collection was a little Rolex heavy for my taste although I have to admit that the discontinued triple black GMT with the green hand is an aspirational piece for me (I had to choose at the time between the GMT and the submariner no date). I'm in awe that you would suggest to do a collection review. What a friendly gesture! I will email you and we can discuss if you think my story fits your parameters.

@@TMPSpodcast you’re entitled to your opinion. I know for a fact these watches are built to withstand much much more than sitting on its crown. They don’t write “superlative chronometer” on the dial for just any reason. This movement is sent off to be tested, and than cased up and tested again in multiple positions to withstand the rigorous use of everyday life. So it is my opinion that it is perfectly okay to place your Rolex on its crown 😊 welcome to the obsessive nature of a watch enthusiast.
