Game came out three day ago and it’s already my favorite game of all time. which is crazy because I’ve played the regular persona three multiple times and though I enjoyed it I’d only say it was in my top 20 to 15 games.
Imo it’s worth buying the game now especially supposedly them having DLC like The Answer later on Can’t say for FeMC then again, she isn’t canon in this timeline for P3

I’m going to give it a try. P5 was my first persona game on the ps4. I was 80 hours in and when I got a new ps4 my save did not transfer. I never got to finish. I am going to give reload a try on the ps5, thank you!!!
P3R is an absolutely incredible game. I’m enjoying it so much. I’m thrilled to have it. I don’t miss negotiations in this one at all but I really love what negotiations add to P5 and SMTV.
This is the first persona game I've ever played. Playing it on game pass PC but I'm definitely gonna buy it. I'm 5 hours in and it's all I can think about.
I agree it's a must buy playing it right now! 💙 Switching between Steam Deck and desktop PC and having a blast, my PC is also connected to my 4K Oled so is almost kinda the game is played on a Switch only with better graphics and frame rate.
@@pattycakeman It definitely depends on the scene and environment you are in. I couldn't avoid all frame drops but overall it does run pretty fine and enjoyable. definitely a big help. I am enjoying It on my ps5 but I will be going on vacation out of state for 3 weeks and was thinking of getting on steam deck but wasn't sure it was worth it for I've heard it drops a bit on tartarus@@Official_RetroMania
I'm enjoying it. Takes a bit to get going as the first couple hours is the setup (which i've already experienced in the other versions) and the usual "You've probably never played Persona before so let's spend too much time teaching you everything" phase. But once it opened up I became addicted to the playstyle that gets me with all of these games. Also, It's maybe a little more detailed than P5, at least as far as character design goes, but not so much that I don't see any reason that it couldn't be on the Switch. Most of the environments are much smaller than P5 and Tartarus is certainly simpler overall than any of the palaces.
I agree that some of the school design choices were a little bland, but just having way more NPCs populating the area really livened the place up. I know some people are bummed that it lacks the darker aesthetic of the original, but I'm really happy overall with the visual upgrades.
i've never played the OG versions but for a lot of the same reasons you said I'm enjoying it more than P5. 5 can be overwhelming @ times with so much to do, especially if your 1st persona game, but this one has some charm and the simplicity of it is great
Gonna download this game on pc, but I got the physical copy (of course) for my Xbox one x and man the 4k 30fps is still really solid. No frame drops or anything. I still love my one x.
I’m about 25 hours into Persona 5R and trying to understand what makes Reload different especially since it is updated graphically to resemble 5. On the surface it feels so similar, enemies, school, bonding, etc. Though I think I agree about the negotiation bit, it can be funny and/or weird the things the demons respond to in order to get them on your team BUT it can be tiresome after a bit and drag out progression/combat a little. It also looks and sounds amazing from all the previews and that is something I do love about P5. I don’t think I can name another game where I catch myself admiring UI menu transitions and the style upon style upon style they have. Pacing, as you say, is the main hang up. The two world set up (school v dungeon) is great but it can create moments where things don’t feel as fluidly woven together as you’d like and you end up with 7 days of socializing for the story to progress when you were excited to get on the the next dungeon or phase. This happened in P5 when I finished off the first boss/dungeon and there was a bunch of time left before he had a change of heart and I had to play hours of dialogue and errands and it felt like the worst kind of grinding because it didn’t really come with much reward. Probably not helped by my unfamiliarity with the series which may have prolonged the days a bit but still - I defeated the guy and then had to wait and wait for the climax and then wait some more for the next target to manifest. Not the best pacing IMO. So the debate really is, after SMT 5 plus eventually 100 hours into P5 am I still going to be excited for another 100 hours of mostly the same? If the story holds up as well as people say then maybe so. Just based on where I am with P5 and probably wanting some space between the two titles to avoid burn out, I think this will be a wait for sale purchase. Sort of a goto when I’m feeling in the mood for bopping to music while navigating gorgeous menus!
I would definitely be spacing out your SMT/Persona games. P5R is a masterpiece so just focus on finishing that incredible game first. P3R isn’t going anywhere
Persona 3 and 5 are the games ive played. I like the characters more in Persona 3 because they feel like they actually have lives separate from the MC. A problem i gave with Persona 5 is that it feels like they dont exist seperate from the MC and the characters from Persona 5 feel like after you beat their arc/palace, they dont do anything else and Persona 3 doesnt have those problems
I've said time and time again that the Persona 3 characters are the best , even whenever Persona 4 was huge many years ago. To the point that when I bought Persona 4 Arena Ultimax for the ps3 in that era , I was very excited to see the Persona 3 characters all grown up well minus a certain chcaracter, which was incredible. It felt like I was back with old friends from high school. Character wise for starters , A little kid( Ken)has a dog with the ability to kill demons, Mitsuru is a badass fencer, Akihiko is a very agile boxer, Aegis makes Megaman X look lame in comparision character wise and I won't spoil anything but I'll just say the word love. Junpei was a strong armed baseball player in which shows in his battle stance. Yukari reminds me of Nami except that she's actually pretty damn badass. Shinjiro reminded me of Kiryu , that alone speaks volumes about his character. I could go on and on telling why Persona 3 was always my overall favorite out of the Persona series.
Fan of the original and not entirely sold on Reload 25 hours in. It’s good, and it’s not the repetition or the grind, I just think the levels could have looked better. Not the visuals, just the design. But the characters look great and the voice acting does justice to the original. It’s a mixed bag for me so far.
In terms of the first few hours, pacing, and gameplay mechanics and UI, so much was better in P5. I find myself missing so much from p5. But, I understand it’s a remake of an old game before they created their p5 masterpiece. So I understand missing certain options, mechanics and pacing situations. I’m also not understanding why I read people say this is the best combat system they have created…it’s literally less options than p5, and otherwise the exact same thing. Card tennis cool though. But I never fault a pacing issue with holding up demons, that was way better. Can’t wait to see how this continues though. I’m sure the writing will pick up story wise.
I’m enjoying the story very much and the gameplay. However the pacing is definitely a bit slower compared to 5, not a huge flaw but one certainly worth pointing out. It seems to take longer to get to the story segments wheras 5 had things more spread out even if you were done with a palace. So it felt like something important happened frequently. I think people are letting recency bias effect their opinions of 5 a bit. I’m doing my best not to compare it 5 and let it stand on it’s own but people seem so intent on putting it down right now it’s getting irritating.
OJ, sorry if I didn’t hear but is this your first time playing Persona 3? I love this game. I played FES in 2015 and when I got the itch to play it again I heard rumors about a P3 remake so I’m glad I waited.
I’ve already beaten Persona FES and started its excellent NG+ and I know the history of Atlus with Persona games, so I’ll pass and wait for the complete game. I also prefer the original soundtrack from FES. For everyone else that never played P3 and like turn-based JRPG, it’s a highly recommended game.
Oh I will... as soon as it drops on Switch 2. Which it will, according to reliable Persona leaker. Tired of buying games twice once they release on Switch, so I'm course correcting here and just holding off for Switch 2 versions moving foreward
Is it really that good I know it's a great game because i already played the portable version and I have reload i just haven't played it yet because I'm trying to play through granblue fantasy relink first
Shuffle time is not anything knew it was in the original persona three and the specific version in this game was from persona 4. The original third game it was sort of like a casino machine we’re when shuffle time started the cards with spin on the screen and you would have to click one randomly and hope you get something good. The version in this remake is taken directly from the fourth game, and I weigh prefer it over the demon negotiation crap. Again sort of like what you said I thought it was Cool at first and then I got really annoyed and board with it.
Honestly, persona three story makes a lot more sense than persona five. It also explains the deeper lore such as the shadows and demons. Where is five doesn’t mention anything. I would say, it’s the best time to jump in as it was originally made. A sort of a soft reboot of the persona franchise win the first two games didn’t sell that well. It establishes the overall lore of the franchise perfectly and each persona game is a new slate so you don’t need to know anything about the phantom thieves to understand the characters of the third game
If say because the game is older and doesn’t have as many social links (confidants in p5), it doesn’t really become too overwhelming as there isn’t too many choices that makes you feel like you might not be making the right choice. Also the rewind feature in this game makes sure you can go back to an autosave to retry something if you feel you made the wrong choice.
I like Shuffle Time, but I much prefer negotiations... just wish they were more involved & dynamic. Only other improvements I'd like to see in future games is more QoL features that show they respect your time. I wouldn't want to disable battle animations all together, but I also don't need to see my the summon animations every time they use a move. If I'm using the same persona throughout a battle, show it once and move on. Seeing them shoot themselves in the head a dozen times each battle just looks silly. Also, it's an Atlus staple at this point, but so much day 1 DLC for a $70 game is a bit irritating, especially when you know there will be plenty more (FES content is for sure coming). Just wish you could unlock SOME of these things like soundtracks & costumes in game. They're usually the only callbacks to previous Persona games outside of the usual monsters/velvet room stuff.
Shuffle time is much better. I hated the negotiations. It was honestly annoying and I just wasted time. Also, shuffle time is not a new mechanic it’s been in the franchise since the original persona three specifically the version that is in this reboot is from persona four as the original version of a sort of a lottery system and you didn’t get to pick the card you wanted, it’s a way better system in the negotiations which got extremely repetitive
Really excited to play but I still have to play Persona 5 Royal but I’m too intimidated to even boot it up a friend bought it for me as a gift!! There’s no way I can play that and this at the same time😂
Play this first. It's fine. Some of the systems are abit more simple since it's based on an older game. But playing this and then moving to Persona 5 where they have alot more diffrent systems and stats and activities might be a better idea.
No worries once you get going you’ll be amazed how fast the game flies by. Even on my first playthtough of persona 5 I got pretty far in just one week.
I hope everyone enjoys their playthrough. Persona 3 is such a great entry. I personally will not be buying this game for the sole reason that the FEMC has been excluded. The reasons Atlus have given are pretty bs and just leave a bad taste in my mouth. Why introduce a character into the legacy of P3 when you will completely disregard them and their fans later on? Its frustrating
They didn’t add it because on Polse barely anyone shows the play is the female character so it wasn’t worth the money and resources to add it. Literally it was less than like 13% of people played as the female. Also it was confirmed like a decade ago that the female character is not Canon to the Lore.
@@Faceplay2 Personally I wasn’t aware they did a poll or anything like that. I can’t be the only one. So I doubt those numbers cover the full extent of how many people wanted her to be included in the east and west. Besides there have been plenty of fan made petetions that excel those numbers easily. I understand the reasons you are giving but I’m just saying they could’ve done it if they WANTED to and they should’ve done it for the simple fact they are the ones who introduced her character into the legacy of Persona 3. Its nothing but a backtrack when you introduce features, allow certain fans to get attached, then never use them again. The same complaints would be heard if they just took away Makoto. The only difference is persona has a huge male player base that could care less about the other side so long as they get the game perspective they want. We can bring canon into the conversation but its been comfirmed since Persona Q she is canon but comes from a different timeline. Either way, plenty of games have the option to pick your gender despite canon status, so thats not really an excuse either.
@@shaktra1563 atlas themselves in a poll like 4 years ago about it. And yeah basically no one plate is the female and the characters. Also not Canon in the lore of persona. Also the reboot as a lot of things and extends the story on Waze that were never done in the original it also for the first time ever has full voice acting for basically every activity. There’s even a lot of characters like teachers who are fully voiced, even when they’re just standing outside of the classroom. It’s honestly the most enjoyable persona game I’ve ever played and I’ve been a fan since the original third game. The fourth game used to be my favorite, but this one surpassed it. And the story is a lot more fascinating than five, but I also think five had one of the week or stories and weakest instigation teams.
@@Faceplay2 Listen I don’t think the game is bad by any means. I’m glad you’re enjoying it, persona 3 especially has one of the best stories I’ve ever played in a game. I haven’t played this new one yet but I can only imagine how much it has surpassed its predessor. But for me Its hard to make myself want to play it when Atlus makes such backwards decisions. My issues go beyond the FEMC and also into the realm of I’ve bought every version of P3 to have them exclude certain features on each one. Then take away something as monumental as the FEMC which we haven’t had anything like it again in persona and its been a decade. Its just taken the fun away for me personally and to not vocalize that would be to let Atlus continue making lazy decisions and greedy decisions. There has to be ambition. I can respect they have their own vision for the game but the fact of that matter is they introuduced the FEMC (canon or not) just to completely disregard them. And then blame it on resources. Thats just cap all the way to me. They might as well just say we just don’t want her in and i’d respect it a lot more.
@@shaktra1563 I guess to each their own again personally, I never really cared for the female character myself, so it doesn’t really bother me. I will say this I disagree with them on the whole resource argument. If it was the same company 15 years ago, I could see it, but personas one of the biggest Jay RPG franchises in the world. They have the money to write the dialogue and get voice actors for the female storyline. Heck pretty much like 70% of the dialogue can stay the same because most of the guy characters aren’t constantly talking about women so they would just have to tweak certain things like obviously instead of at the beginning of the game if everyone is assuming you’re dating yukari. They could simply change it to people wondering if the two of the characters or old friends or joke about what did she do to get on the popular girls side so fast and be relatively easy change.

The version in this remake is taken directly from the fourth game, and I weigh prefer it over the demon negotiation crap. Again sort of like what you said I thought it was Cool at first and then I got really annoyed and board with it.
I liked the palaces in 5 but got too hard later in game . In here its way simpler but overall game is great
I’m only familiar with Joker and those Persona games… is this game something a newcomer could get into easily? Or would I be totally lost
Haha I’m vibing to the music !
I just wish it was HARDER
I got the Aigis edition on series x, it's nice but dunno if it's 200$ nice
aren't you married with kids? hope the local high schools have you on a watchlist
I need a persona 4 golden reload
Dope vid
Waiting for switch launch for thi title
BABY BABY BABY BABY BABY BABYYYYYYYY
They could simply change it to people wondering if the two of the characters or old friends or joke about what did she do to get on the popular girls side so fast and be relatively easy change.
hi OJ
Its very low budget and lazy remake, don't pay full price for it.
On pc there has been some lag but it could just be me. Fantastic otherwise.
