It's great to see that Marin from Link's Awakening finally gets well deserved recognition as a Zelda character and is given a much needed upgrade from 16 bit graphics to full on HD graphics add in the fact that the wind fish is one of her special moves makes it all the more sweeter.
I really wish they didn't give her a toddler voice though. It's super creepy and Marin isn't supposed to be creepy ;_; Still though, I am very happy to see her despite this. She's been my favorite character since the GBC version came out.
Can't believe Koei-Tecmo can make Link, Toon Link, and Young Link have completely unique and separate movesets, but Nintendo can't even make Ganondorf play differently than Captain Falcon. Beyond that though, the moves in this game are just so imaginative and creative. Very impressed.
Lol yeah melee was an exact replica of captain falcon but they did a little better changing up the look of their moves starting with brawl. Can’t wait to see more on the next game.
Well, this game is for the most part 1 player. Smash can have potentially eight players playing at once, and everybody complains when it's eveb a little unbalanced. As Sakurai has stated, adding a new character to Smash is not simple addition, you have to see how the character interacts with every other character in the game, so it's multiplication.

Well originally Hyrule Warriors only included Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword - then DLC added Majora's Mask, Legends added Wind Waker and Link's Crossbow Training (Linkle's weapon) and then Legends DLC added Link's Awakening, the DS games and Link Between Worlds. So, I'd at least hold out hope for Fire Emblem Warriors 2 to have proper representation of anything between FE1 and Awakening.

The game still sold surprisingly well, and Koei Tecmo has thus announced that they may make a sequel in the future, including characters that people actually love, like Roy, Ike, Ephraim, Hector, Alm, Micaiah and so on, not freaking Niles and Oboro. That will give some much needed variety, and I personally feel they should also add other series staples like Laguz units and thiefs/assassins/rogues, or, you know, ARMOURED UNITS!
I personally enjoy Fe warriors so if they do bring out a sequel with more characters from Fe 7 or any character from Fe 2/15,4,5,6,8,9 or 10 I would buy it as long as they fix the difficulty curve of DLC history maps (because let’s be honest its Koei techmo)

Love this game because it's basically a big party of fan service without the slightest compromise with the franchise, since it's not canon. They can basically throw any character together, and I love it.
See, this game may have its flaws, but what it does have is amazing representation. Sure, three quarters of them aren't meant to even be fighters, but it's fun seeing characters separated by *decades*, some of which not everyone might know. I mean hey, they even put Marin in there - she's from, what, '94? It's nice to see her.
I don't know if the cast will be expanded even further, but the roster is so good and diverse, I only miss Vaati, Onox and Veran. The diversity isn't something Fire Emblem Warriors can boast off unfortunately...
The worst part is that Koei actually has a chance. All discussion was going well about who to get in and suddenly the director barged in and announced that they just include most Fates/Awakening characters with a bit of Shadow Dragon. And despite using "too much swords" as an excuse for not including all Lords in the series(which, when put together is actually more diverse than the present cast), they ended up even including two sword using(not only that, it's literally just the same weapon) OCs. It was so stupid, the development team actually kind of had a breakdown, some of them unironically, and calling out on the director for not understanding Fire Emblem at all. Unfortunately not much is done to fix the problem. To make matter worse Celica, who has prominent magic abilities, is reduced to a Marth clone with Ragnarok as the only magic based special attack. I can't believe it's done by the same team that makes Hyrule Warriors. I hope they haven't knocked their head there.
Honestly... There is one thing that actually would have made me interested in this game that is completely missing: a standalone non-human character. Not human, not part human, not humanish, not accompanied by a human, not even a magical human and so much clothing you can't even tell what they are. A standalone, no bullshit non-human. I thought for sure there was at least an anthropomorphic bird playable character, but all I saw was that blue human with bird wings in that little girl with a bird beak but otherwise perfectly human features.
I am a huge fan of Hyrule Warriors, and I love playing as most of these characters, but there are a few that I would've loved to play as who never made it into this game. There are 3 in particular, who I thought could've been brought in without resorting to making them mere costumes for other characters: Rusl from Twilight Princess is one who I would've really enjoyed. Some of his moves could involve assistance from Auru, Ashei, Shad, the Hawk, and the Gold Cuckoo. Perhaps even one with his son, Colin. There's just a bunch of possibilities. Nabooru from Ocarina of Time would've been cool. I suppose some possibilities were having her dual wield Gerudo swords, or the spears that the regular Gerudos use, but I would've loved her wearing the Iron Knuckle armor, with the huge axe, so that we would finally have a playable axe wielder. Groose from Skyward Sword, Come on, The Groosenator deserved better than being just a set piece most of the time, after only one mission where it was used.
The Zekenator it's bad enough the included a garbage weapon durability system in botw I would rather not have them gimp link here too when no other character would have weapons shattering like glass.
Me! I'd love to see Lana and Cia in another game. And they should make another game where you can choose whether you want to play as Link (a boy) or Linkle. (a girl) That would be cool!!!
I remember at the time before the Definitive Edition came up, there was a some demand for Skull Kid and people were mad that all they got was the Skull Kid COSTUME, and THEN later on they got Skull Kid 😂
It's a shame this game didn't get more DLC. I would've loved a Breath of the Wild pack (or even two), with the Champions as playable characters. Ah well.

For a potential Hyrule Warriors 2 my picks are : The 4 champions from Botw Linbeck Demise Saria Malon / Romani Vaati Hilda And for the weapon I goes for : Four sword Link Minish cap Link Deku/Goron/Zora Young Link Zelda’s magical gloves Oot ganon’s power Majoras warth, incarnation Skull Kid Toon Zelda’s bow. (Even if it’s impossible Smash bros Sheik and Ganondorf)
Considering Demise is from what I can gather, the entity that later BECOMES Ganon/Gannondorf idk why he wasn’t added as a DLC character. And considering Ghirahim and Zant are basically flunkies for a boss, Aghanim deserved a spot here too. I would’ve loved a 4th Link too, an actual “Classic” Link. Make his starting move set the “inventory” move set. Have him with visible items hanging all over him that he actually uses in combat, even the ladder and the raft. I can actually see maybe his C4 having him jump up, slam the ladder down vertically in the ground, climb up it and slam the raft down on enemies. Shoot, they could’ve gave him 4 extra movesets, one for Dmitri the dodongo, one for Ricky the Kangaroo and one for Moosh (or at least make all 3 Oracle pets into 1 weapon set) They could’ve even added Onox and Veran and maybe even the Nightmare from Links Awakening. Let’s not forget Vaati, but Aghanim imo deserves the very next spot.
i want to also mention the 3 CDi games as they weren’t referenced at all which is a shame. Anyway, Classic Links Inventory moveset could simply implement all of the visible items seen hanging from him and could go like this. Standard String: Sword swipes Strong attack (C1): Link uses the Book item to increase his attack power or something C2: Link uses a bomb to knock his opponent upward C3: link throws his boomerang in a circular motion gathering enemies to his frontside following up with a quick barrage of arrows fired from his bow C4: Link plays the flute, summoning a tornado to juggle nearby enemies then finish the attack with a blast from his Magic rod C5: (this ones my favorite) Link jumps in the air grabbing his Ladder and slams it into the ground damiging enemies in the process, then climbs up the rest of it grabbing his power glove to easily grab the Raft and slam it into the ground. C6: his final combo should involve his sword and shield somehow, maybe shield bashing whatever enemies are in front of him following up with a jumping downward thrust or a spin attack or both Using the old artwork of Link actually carrying all of his items out in the open would’ve been a great idea for a playable Classic Link imo. And why is Toon Link the only Link using the Mirrored Shield?!?! There should’ve been a special lv4+ unlock for the Master Sword where it is used and has special blocking properties where if you block a fireball, you’ll do fire damage for a few seconds or simply reflect the attack back at the enemy
Some of those characters I did nit even expect to be in this game. I got excited when I saw the Majoras mask characters but I think they went a little over board with the spirit tracks characters and I think the girl was Malon from the ranch? Lol I was not thinking of getting this game up until I saw this video. I wanted to see Yuga though I was wondering if he shoots lightning, or if he becomes Yiganon maybe as a transformation. Link between worlds was a badass game. The moment he used the tri force was hella badass.

This looks better visually than the Wii U version. I just don't like how there arent that many enemies on screen at once like in Fire Emblem Warriors. Moves are more unique in Hyrule Warriors though.

I can actually see maybe his C4 having him jump up, slam the ladder down vertically in the ground, climb up it and slam the raft down on enemies.
Shoot, they could’ve gave him 4 extra movesets, one for Dmitri the dodongo, one for Ricky the Kangaroo and one for Moosh (or at least make all 3 Oracle pets into 1 weapon set) They could’ve even added Onox and Veran and maybe even the Nightmare from Links Awakening. Let’s not forget Vaati, but Aghanim imo deserves the very next spot.
i want to also mention the 3 CDi games as they weren’t referenced at all which is a shame.
Anyway, Classic Links Inventory moveset could simply implement all of the visible items seen hanging from him and could go like this.
Standard String: Sword swipes
Strong attack (C1): Link uses the Book item to increase his attack power or something
C2: Link uses a bomb to knock his opponent upward
C3: link throws his boomerang in a circular motion gathering enemies to his frontside following up with a quick barrage of arrows fired from his bow
C4: Link plays the flute, summoning a tornado to juggle nearby enemies then finish the attack with a blast from his Magic rod
C5: (this ones my favorite) Link jumps in the air grabbing his Ladder and slams it into the ground damiging enemies in the process, then climbs up the rest of it grabbing his power glove to easily grab the Raft and slam it into the ground.
C6: his final combo should involve his sword and shield somehow, maybe shield bashing whatever enemies are in front of him following up with a jumping downward thrust or a spin attack or both
Using the old artwork of Link actually carrying all of his items out in the open would’ve been a great idea for a playable Classic Link imo. And why is Toon Link the only Link using the Mirrored Shield?!?! There should’ve been a special lv4+ unlock for the Master Sword where it is used and has special blocking properties where if you block a fireball, you’ll do fire damage for a few seconds or simply reflect the attack back at the enemy

Some of those characters I did nit even expect to be in this game. I got excited when I saw the Majoras mask characters but I think they went a little over board with the spirit tracks characters and I think the girl was Malon from the ranch? Lol I was not thinking of getting this game up until I saw this video. I wanted to see Yuga though I was wondering if he shoots lightning, or if he becomes Yiganon maybe as a transformation. Link between worlds was a badass game. The moment he used the tri force was hella badass.

If you are having trouble use Young Link, Skull Kid, Ganondorf, Link, Zant, or Twili Midna because they are broken. Agatha destroys bosses better than most characters as well

This looks better visually than the Wii U version. I just don't like how there arent that many enemies on screen at once like in Fire Emblem Warriors. Moves are more unique in Hyrule Warriors though.
