One of the more odd debates I found while researching this debate was Artorias' sword arm. What do you think? Was Artorias left-handed? Thanks for watching! Please subscribe for more videos like this
@@crash-testproductions9341 Right, the Majestic Greatsword in DS2 and it says every prominent swordsman who inherited it was lefthanded. Sif wields it like a lefty too. Maybe I'm missing it, which shield's description says that he's left-handed?
Bro your videos are the right balance of funny and intriguing. So what I'm feeling is the outbreak of the Abyss happened first in Oolacile and then spread to New Londo. Since Oolacile was pretty much isolated from the rest of Lordran at this time (Light sorcery developed independently there), reports of the Abyss overflowing there did not reach Anor Londo first, but that of New Londo did. Artorias was sent to New Londo by Gwyndolin through one of his illusions. Meanwhile, Gough was sent to Oolacile first when the origin of the Abyss started becoming clearer. He knew something fishy was going on. By the time, he understood what was happening, he was already locked in the tower. Artorias was already having a tough time dealing with the Darkwraiths in New Londo. When no reports from Gough came in, Artorias devised the plan of ending the Abyss at its root. He left for Oolacile and then the Sealers of New Londo saw no other choice than to drown the city in order to stop the spread of the Abyss. Artorias met up with Gough, who warned him of Manus and of the transformed inhabitants of Oolacile. Artorias and Sif cut through them and fought Manus. The rest is pretty evident: Artorias loses his arm, Manus puts his Abyss into his catacombs, he goes mad ,we kill him, Ciaran finally arrives to see him dead. He sets up our path to Manus, puts Sif's summon sign, and in an odd way helps us train for the Manus fight. Overall, pretty solid dude.
Thanks man! Yep, that all lines up to me. Both crises happening at around the same time but less information coming out of Oolacile is generally how I lean too. I really like the Gough being sent as a scout idea. It explains how he knows so much about everything going on in the area despite having been locked up for a while. Any particular reason you think Artorias was sent to New Londo as an illusion? Maybe I'm missing it, but it seems like your series events still works if the real Artorias was sent over there. But yeah, I like this summary
@@rickytebbe Most Welcome! My bad about the illusion bit. I phrased that poorly. I wanted to say that Gwyndolin probably used Gwynevere's (or someone else's) illusion to order the Knights out to New Londo and Oolacile. All the Knights involved were 100% real.
@@pratikmandal1350 Ahhh no worries, "through one of his illusions." I see it now. My bad, really. No caffeine yet today. Yeah that makes perfect sense to me!
@soundsofshadeandsunshine1510 His warding shield was protecting sif. If you saved sif in the dlc the shield drops after sif is safe and the description says "Artorias, deeply scarred by the abyss, used this to form a barrier to protect his compatriot Sif.". And in the fight with Artorias you could literally see his left arm broken. It should have been obvious if you played the game.
i never noticed that hole, so you are probably right that gough would be best. i also think smough would have done darn well against manus and could beat most (if not all) knights of gwyn back to back with his big hammer. btw its nice watching a guy that doesn’t say artorias is op and all. but his name has a cool disguise, its just latin for arthur.
Gough just cheeses him and everyone goes home happy. Yep, Smough would be tough for most. It would be interesting to see him go up against Manus. Oddly enough, Artorias' fairy tale Elizabeth comes up with kind of mirrors the end of Le Morte d'Arthur with Modred taking the place of Manus. Modred takes over the kingdom, Arthur kills him in battle but succumbs to injuries himself shortly after. Kinda interesting.
For Arotiases sake the few dark knights we find are the very few remains after hes crusade and the cannibal smough would eaten oaciles people instead of helping them thats why Ornstein was with him so he gets controlled and Manus vreak hes arm bc he was bad at using the pendent thats why he hid it for some1 else and he left hes shield to protect ciff and tried to seek help but we know how that ended i not saying hes op but hes wasnt pointless
ricky, if you see this comment, it would be pretty cool if you did a video about all the dragons in soulsborne game that fought against powerful/inevitable things. Like midir fought abyss and fortissax fought Godwyn’s death

He was left handed according to his shield description. And in DS2, his sword moveset can only be used with the sword in the left hand.

@@rickytebbe I was wrong, it's the majestic greatsword description that say he was left handed.

Knight Artorias broke his shield arm protecting Sif. He was beating Manus until this point.
Where does it say that?
His shield was left with Sif. With Sif surviving. Artorias essentially sacrificed himself.@@churchofvito

Do a video on the misconception that it was gwyn that banished nameless king.
I gloss over it a bit in one of my videos but that definitely sounds like something I could dedicate a whole one to

You should keep it up, the voice audio is a lil loud and piercing but I mean that with love. I love Souls content and you definitely delivered well!
Thanks! And I appreciate the feedback. Voice audio has been my bane so far. I'll make some adjustments and hopefully it comes out better next time
