I am a member of the Kia GT owner's club Facebook page, and also of the modifier's page. I saw SO many posts about replacing the Halogen globes for LED's and then tinting the covers. I thought to myself "How stupid! You think the lights aren't bright enough so you replace them, and then deliberately dim them". It seemed so STUPID and POINTLESS. But you are the first person who has explained WHY they mostly tinted the covers afterwards. Seeing photographs of the end product was not as "descriptive" as seeing a video, so for that I am also thankful. Thanks a BUNCH Adam. I believe you have helped me make the decision to do this.

Great video! BTW, if you remove the rear wheels, it's a lot easier to get to the rear bulbs. Also, our bulbs don't have the LEDs that face directly outwards ;) EDIT: for anyone else who wants to try this... try wet application for the tint, it makes life so much easier
I got my indicator and reverse lights wrapped, the Cerato badge removed, and the rear kia badge vinyled over all for $100 in Sydney. Great job done while I waited.

Any chance you could please detail how you routed your dashcam wiring? Maybe as a quick side addition to your next video. Would be much appreciated as I have the same car and a A119
Sure thing man, it's not too difficult and I wouldn't say I did the best job of it haha. A119 is the single channel one right? I just tucked the power cable into the headlining, then across the 'line' on the top of the airbag pillar, and then used the tuck tool to put it inside the rubber weather strip going down the side of the door. Then I made it go underneath the floormat (behind the glovebox) and then into the USB port inside the central cubby which to me is more ideal than going into the cigarette lighter or charging ports in the middle. If you're hardwiring then you can just go straight into the fuse box :) Hope that helps!
The LEDs plus tinting looks wayyyy better! I'll have to do it to my Cerato GT too haha. Quick question, are the indicator bulbs you provided link to for the front AND the back (i.e. you bought two of the same packs)? I saw some videos where they had different ones for the rear indicators?
Yes same for both (you can get 4 packs for quite cheap on ebay)! I've heard that if you have the sedan the rear ones may not fit (too long apparently) but as far as I know all hatch owners have done the same as me and no issues.

Ah man I get you, the OCD of my bad edges is getting to me already 🤣 honestly none at the moment, I don't think theres any car that competes with it in its price range. Reliable, fun to drive and exceptionally well equipped for my tastes. Make sure you check out John Hughes in Vic Park if there's no stock, they usually have the most!

Hey Adam, I recently purchased a Cerato GT Hatch and replaced the front indicators with Led's. When I went to change the rear indicators and reverse lights with Led's I could not work out whether to go from underneath the rear bumper or like the front take out the clips in the wheel arch cover. I was just wondering how the auto electrician you used was able to get to them out. Thanks Matt
Hey Matt, I've spoken to a few people and found out there's a couple of ways you can do it. 1. Go from underneath and fit your hand in the little gap. You need small hands for this - or you can remove the rivets holding the panel blocking it to make a bit more room. 2. Remove the rear wheel arch and access it from there. This is still pretty tight as there's some other panels in the way, so you'd need small hands regardless but at least you can see where you're going a bit better. 3. Remove the entire bumper and remove the bulbs from behind once it's off. My auto elec did this since his hands are bigger than mine haha.
@@iDreamDance Thanks for the advice Adam. I ended up having to jack the car up and take the wheels off. Then I had easy access to all of the clips and screws to remove the plastic wheel arch cover. Luckily my hands were small enough to fit in the small gap.
There's a snippet of them in this video, but yeah I'm not liking the yellow tinge it gives to my LED reverse lights, so I might change it to a lighter/bluer tint film later. I do love the black look when they're not being used though ;) And congrats! Hope it comes soon!

I just bought my Forte ex+ 2021 and Im already stoked to do some of the mods to it. The led bulbs are a must, I strongly agree there. But instead of the wrap I might use the nightshade, What's your take on that?
Congrats on your purchase! I hate nightshade personally because it's very hard to remove if it goes wrong, but also blocks out way too much light and makes the housings more matte than glossy. Personal preference I guess :)
@@iDreamDance I finally got around to wrapping mine! (Weather conditions here havent been the greatest) and you're absolutely right the stealth look, just looks amazing. Someone also quoted me about $300+ Canadian so I did it myself and man I love it. I also blacked out the center reflector on the sedan.

the reason they use filament bulbs over leds for indicators is because filament bulbs are way more reliable!

From an australian shop called iilumo, they have a pack for i30 N which is the same as Cerato GT :)
