Joscho Stephan & Biréli Lagrène live: Wave!

Am 5.03.2020 gaben sich Joscho Stephan und Birèli Lagrène im AudimaGH`s von Gartenheim die Ehre - unterstützt von Volker Kamp am Bass. Der allerdings bei dem Song Wave nicht sein großartges Können unter Beweis stellen sollte.
Die beiden Top Gitarristen verbindet nicht nur der Bekanntheitsgrad, insbesondere im Gypsy Jazz Genre, sondern die vielen musikalischen Einflüsse, die sie in ihrem Spiel vereinen.
Lagrène, der ähnlich wie Joscho Stephan, mit der Legende Django Reinhardt verglichen wird, hat seine brilliante Technik über Jahre im Zusammenspiel mit Jazzgrößen wie Herbie Hancock oder Al DI Meola entwickelt und kehrte danach wieder zum Gypsy Jazz zurück.
Bei Gartenheim zeigten Stephan und Lagrène in dem Jazz/Bossa Standard `Wave` von Antônio Carlos Brasileiro de Almeida Jobim, oder kurz `Tom`Jobim, warum sie zu den besten Solo Gitarristen der Welt gehören. Ein Feuerwerk an Technik und Emotion.

I think this is the most beautifully shaped and deep solo of Bjrelli I ever heard. I didn't listen really really much of him, also with Sylvain-Luc, but even than he didn't made so much beautifull phrases. Now he does almost all the time. I van listens endless to Bireli's phrasing in his solo (and also his accompanienment). It is such a beautiful story without showing off. He is really playing Zen.
