Joking aside, but going through a ford on a road bike is so dangerous, I can testify. My worst accident on a road bike. Your dad is mad😂
I grew up round there, and loose grumpy dogs were the bain of my cycling childhood. I did learn how to sprint in pretty much any gear though. I used to drink at The Raddle, it's clearly got a lot posher in the last 40 years.

Hate waiting and waiting on people. Especially when they had plenty of time to get ready before you arrive but love the family ride and chaos that follows lol. Can only understand about half of what you guys say. Your dad talks much faster than a Texas twister. All the girls screaming like a horror picture when the little dog. Everyone seems to constantly be in the wrong gear. They come with gears for a reason ha ha. Hate confronting mad dogs.
I'm British and I used to struggle to understand everything her dad says - he really is a fast talker! But I'm "tuned in" now, so it's no problem. Sometimes - 50% of the time? - the TH-cam subtitles help: switch them on - they give you bits you missed and you can add gaps it misses and between you, you will be speaking north Midlands like a native!

Hard to know what to do with dogs. Little yappy things I normally stop and they soon turn round and run off. But I've been wary to do that when it comes to big wolf 🐺 type dogs abroad where I have just sprinted for my life, always seems to happen when you're going up hill tho... 😂

I don't advise squirting pup with water , doing that could make the pup cautious when approaching people as it will link it to a negative experience which could cause fearful behaviour in the future....a good option is to put the pup on a long line when visitors come so you can control it's behaviour and teach the pup what you want it to do with lure reward training.
