You know, Oleander had a point though, you can't really compare what he did to what Lucy did. Oleander stole some children's brains and put them in tanks, but was stopped by Raz, and by end of it, all of the damage he had done was undone. Lucy, however, destroyed an entire village, kill hundreds of people including Raz's father's parents ( which in turn killed her own sister), and just tried to kill her great Nephew. So in a way yeah, her actions can't be undone, nor can they be forgotten. Eventually what Oleander did will be nothing but a folk tale someday, but Maligula's story has already lasted 20 years, hers will remain that way even long after her death.
I mean on the one hand I'm tired of the "easily forgiven" trope and want to agree with you, but on the other hand the Psychic Seven have been doing very weird shit to their minds and as Raz points out here, she really couldn't control her darker instincts. It reminds me somewhat of a situation one of pioneers of anaesthesia - Horace Wells, faced later in life. He discovered that nitrous oxide could be used to painlessly extract teeth from patients. However, when performing such surgery in front of medical crowd he failed and was booed off stage. He then began working on other methods, but soon William T. G. Morton (Wells' former student and businesses partner) showed his own anaesthetic - aether (although it was first used in this role by Crawford Williamson Long, who simply never published his findings). Wells, who was also experimenting with this substance at the time, but remembering the humiliation wanted to perfect the method before showing it off, was outraged and decided to throw himself into work on anaesthesia - finding out that chloroform would also work, but became addicted to it due to intense abuse in proving its effects. One day, while higher than most kites, he run off from his lab and threw a vial of sulphuric acid at two prostitutes. He was arrested and tried for it, but while in prison he became sober enough to realise what he has done. Crushed by it, he requested escort to his house to retrieve his shaving kit and later committed suicide with the razor.
honestly I thing in this case the "Easily forgiven" trope is okay. Like what is the main work of psychonauts? Working with peoples psych and mentality, so they keep these "villains" close and helping them to reform or live a life where they can't be a harm to themselve or others anymore. 16:18 why is she looking at Raz like that? lol
I don't know but it got the biggest laugh out of me in the whole game
I think she just likes messing with him.
It seems a bit too silent for a final battle.
This turned off the soundtracks
but overall this game was amazing and its prob a good match up with it takes two in storytelling. They did miss out on some voice lines... but hoping for more character interaction in the game, it was kind of shorter then i thought itd be but just makes me want more!
The best and real ending is the epilogue gameplay afterwards when we see everyone get closure and talk to them. And Raz's talk with his dad.
probably the only company that doesn't slack story telling like now and days, good job to the team
So looking forward to fighting this boss
16:19 amazing, absolutely phenomenal
Maybe it's just me, but I like to compare Maligula to the "Darth Vader" persona that Anakin Skywalker allowed to take control in the original Star Wars in order to cope with his personal loss and tragedies.
...and how all it took was Empathy from his son, Luke, to finally bring his true father back to the surface.
I hope they make a 3rd or a tv show of the game
Hopefully without another 15 years
@GoTi4No I’m sure we will get some form of dlc. Waaayyy too much money for ms
@GoTi4No If you talk to Agent Foresight after the credits, you can see hints of a possible third game story.
2:10 the way sam flies off kills me
My problem with the intern showing up at the end is that it would’ve been more fitting if it was the psychic seven at the end.
Like i did not see that coming the whole game n then im like what what what. Fresh surprises and that bob level had me dying and cutscene where the Gisua wanted raz brother had me dying hahaha
Hey invader zim and Moxxie are in these game not bad
Also the voice of grrr is his paper double
@@ToyGuruMan Omg, I how did I not notice this before xDDD
But this game was REALLY self aware with some jokes, the devs really knew what they were doing.
1:51 i think unicron found a match.
Weird they made detailed model for a character who only shows up half submerged in water in one cutscene
Her full model is seen walking (from behind) at the end of Tomb of the Sharkophagus. I think that's the only time she doesn't have the water around her.
Is there usually no music for the entirety of the fight?
It's been a while since I played this myself, but that seems a really odd choice.
Wouldn't mind seeing how she acted before she became evil, bonding with ford and all
After you eat the game you can actually go to the green needle gulch and see her hanging out with ford
The revenge of goggalor!
The Final Boss
I really liked the first game a lot. Tho I honestly enjoyed this one a lot more. The gameplay was super smooth and the story ended up being way more deeper and impactful in many different ways. The first game had a lot of this too and was a great setup for this game. Tho this one really hit it off just right for me.
That look Hollis gives Oleander, how much did Sasha and Mia report about his actions in the first game?
Im i the only one who knows moxxie from helluva boss acter is voicing some one here
Is Raz played by the same guy who voices Moxxie❤
Yep and the same guy who voice Zim in Invader Zim.
Honestly, this gives off Pixar animation vibes
:Careful children, I hear a storm parochial.
(Bury the light intensified)
Well that was fast...
14:59 meanwhile 16 years ago....
i miss my grandma
Am i going mad or is Raz’s voice actor the same as Moxxie’s in Helluva Boss?
He is. He’s been in a lot of stuff.
Same voice actor of Moxxie from Helluva Boss
Giant Raz is OP as always.
aka Goggalor! >:3
I thought it whouldnt be till 25th?
It is the 25 for those who didn't pre order or got an advanced copy to build up the hype as for the people who pre ordered they got to play it at 8pm on the 24th
Psychonauts:Coach tries to kill kids and then gets accepted back in good graces.
Psychonauts 2:Nona tries to kill people and then gets accepted back in good graces.
Nona's case is complicated
Yes, Raz is voiced by the same guy who did Billy, Invader Zim, and Moxie.
Now can we all move along now?
Lets be real. There was supposed to be music these sections but they bugged out. Same happened with my playthrough
Now every time i hear his voice actor i hear not billy or invader zim i hear when he speaks moxxie T^T
Great video 🔥🔥
The Final Boss
MOX IS THAT YOU?
Kinda hope they take as long as they did to bring out the 2 game for a 3rd one.
I kinda hope they don't. Waiting that long for a sequel waa frankly obnoxious. And now they don't have to since they don't have to crowd source to fund their games anymore.
anyone else who thinks of Moxxie from Helluva boss when they hear Raz's voice? Still, I think the game is super cool, I've played it many times :D
That little boy sounds like moxxie-
Razz sounds like a person from hell of a boss
richard horvitz, the guy who voices Raz, also voices Moxie
The villain looks like the girl from Croods new Way or something I don’t know it’s been a while since I watched it
is there any music in this fight or did you turn it off for copyright reasons because it sounds kind of bland
Raz sound like moxxie of helluva boss
I love how much Raz has grown. He understands that all parts of the human mind are necessary and not just parts to be removed. He learned a lot threw his adventures in Labato. You can't just dismiss parts of the brain that don't work right as being useless. That's why Lobotomy has been outlawed. People realized it was doing more damage then good. He points out flaws of the mind and knows his job as a psychonaut is to fix them. Something that took the first psychonauts a while to figure out.
Don't know if anyone watch helluva boss but Raz sounds like moxxie
It's the same VA he's returned from the first game that happened 16 years ago (in universe 2 days ago) he also did invader Zim, Chaos, Billy, and your alien shop dude from destroy all humans (i forgot his name sorry)
2:20 why is there no music?
They turned it off
TH-cam's copyright policy. It's so fucking obvious.
It sound like moxxie
Morris getting eaten
Raz: Fuck your shit I'm out 🎶
I love the fact that raz and Moxxie have the same voice actor
Why there's no music
I feel like the final boss fight is a bit underwhelming, especially compared to all the other boss fights in the game. Kinda get the impression they were running out of steam at this point.
Maligula is pure power. She never changes her tactics, because she's not intelligent enough to. Her powers are insanely strong, but she's the definition of a blunt object.
I'm just disappointed there isn't a level to go with it. Fatherland follies is a great semi final level, but it doesn't really test your skills nor is it all that climactic.
I agree. I wish there was a proper second phase but oh well...
The game is still downright amazing
that weird voice sound it like moxxie from helluva boss
Same voice
It's the same voice actor
It is him.
Ford:uh so do you let lily p&g you? Raz:sometimes…what!?! Ew!!….f&ck!!
Early
I wonder what the final boss of the third game would be. laboto's brain isn't untangled yet. Maybe we actually get to see someone who's gone off The rocker completely
kaos moxxie zim and raz richard has given all of us great memories
Billy is probably his most well known roll
Not as good as meat circus
MOXY?!
im watching a stream behind this so as nona appears it goes TEAM DEATHMATCH 3 2 1 FIGHT
not me reading this as "Pocahontas 2"
I like the big monster style battle
As soon as I heard his voice I though MOXIE!!! From hella boss
YAY NONA IS DED!
"Fill his lungs" is one of the most unsettling things ive heard in this game.
Why does the boy sound like one of the characters on helluva boss? Is it just me?
Same voice actor
congratulations *junior* agent.
didn't raz become a psychonaut at the end of psychonauts 1?
At the start of 2 a character explains that Ford doesnt have the authority to make someone a psychonaut anymore.
@@tokiwartooth95 ah thanks! That threw me for a loop
I feel like there should have been some music here.
