Thank you Danny. I was having major depression today & was nice to hear someone like yourself talk about it. I have nothing to be depressed about in life right now & have everything i have pretty much ever wanted. But it stems from a lot of shit in my childhood…was kind of like growing up in a war zone. Have never really sat down & talked to anyone about it…but am going to change that after watching this. Much appreciated & stay blessed
Thanks for the video, As a man we don't always know how to talk about it. We ask for help not because we are weak, but because we wish to remain strong. Much respect.
I am a army veteran, thank you. I work with other veterans with ( ptsd ) . I see people not in the military with ptsd . I do talk to them , but more with veterans
This is one of the best TH-cam videos I've ever seen! My brother is a Desert Storm Veteran and has suffered from it greatly. He first self medicated with Alcohol and then got limited help from the VA, and turned to Meth. He is in jail now for that reason.
Straight up TRUTH Brother. Grew up in Chi town . I’m 74, enlisted in 66. Came back to the world, been in three clubs, steppin up to a 1% club. A BRO will do anything you want to do, except that one thing you sometimes need to do. That’s talk from your heart. Maybe they think you want them to solve your problem and shy away from the subject. What they don’t realize is that you basically want to vent to someone. They can’t solve your problem and you don’t expect them to. 32 days ago I lost my lady after 30 years of marriage. I reached out and let some brothers know. What you hear is.. if you need anything let me know. You know how that plays out. A REAL Brother knows you’re BROKEN inside, and he’s gonna be up your ass to get you right. I’ve always said..if you have three BROTHERS in your life you’re a very lucky man, the rest are jus acquaintances. Apologize if this got off topic, jus venting I guess. Nothing but L&R for you Danny. You got an old man’s soul in a young man’s body. Jus keep on doin what you do, keepin it 💯
@Geno Miralli that's incredibly tough. My advice would be to find a support group run by men who have lost their partners. They will understand how you are feeling and what you need. Don't be alone 👊
PTSD, anxiety, depression. Comes in many different ways and walks of life. It isn't just us Combat Veterans. I appreciate the Goodman and respect for the military. I've got much respect for you DANNY D LOW. I had to dig deep to find this video after getting a message from Matt Goodman Goodman Lawn Mowing. About your fight you're going through with the three above mentioned. Much respect brother! You're in my thoughts and prayers keep up the fight Danny D Low. That's all we can do... this video hits on point! Much respect!
@@dannydlowbikertv agreed... I keep telling Hollywood and Black Dragon, I'm trying to catch up and keep up with you all. I hope you have an amazing and blessed day today brother. I told Matt Goodman... the day we stop learning is the day we die. Obviously... I'm still learning. I am glad I found the video. Much Respect Again Brother. Keep it 💯! You're doing great! And you seem like a great man! We've all got our past. And for those of us fighting these "demons." PTSD, Anxiety and Depression it's hard. You're not alone and you can keep on doing this... you've got a good support group.
@Danny D Low I need your help! (Only) with my 2001 electra glide classic I bought. I want to hop up the motor from 88" to 100" looking at S&S. Just don't know what I can get through them without rebuilding the whole engine!? And I'm a little concerned with the cam chain tensioner? Yeah I've got my 2021 BMW R18 First Edition. Which I explained to Hollywood why I went that direction after owning so many Harley Davidson and Ducati, blah blah blah. "03" Deuce. "01" Road King. "12" CVO Street Glide 110". "13" Street Glide 103". "11" CVO Street Glide 110" which I bought from Retired CSM Whiskey Bob. Who's a friend of mine and a great friend! Anyway Danny D. I need help and ideas with this "01" electra glide classic I bought with a 88". So give me some ideas and some help! LOL! And no I'm not going to scrap it and start over! 😮 😉
M/F'er, I could kick yer ass, Danny. I'm here with tears in my eyes, because for the first time ever, it seems like you are someone who has the same shit as me. I'm a Gulf War vet, and I have talked this over with the VA and a civilian doc, but they just don't connect. It sounds like you have lived it, man. We got our stuff from different sources, but it's the same symptoms: can't watch violent movies, heavy chest anxiety, all that. I'm very happy for you that you have sort of gotten a handle on it. I'm trying. Partly succeeding, partly not, but I'm not quitting. Thanks a ton for the message in this video.
I wasn't sure I wanted to read your message after the first part 🤣🤣 but I'm glad I did. Thank you for your service,respectfully... never give up bro, it's a struggle I know. Definitely different paths, but same ending my friend. You will win, you will get better, you will survive because it's what you do. Thank you for your words. Sincerely, Danny.
@@dannydlowbikertv I should have written that that post was sent with much love, honor and respect, man, because it was. I was in a little emotional state.
No truer shits been spoken. Welcome to my brain. There was a VA psychiatrist that started to help. And a Therapist. My pre-teen, and teenage experiences had more effect on me than my military service. Created the monster I was, and still revisit in my mind and dreams still. Very cool your sharing your experience, that takes courage, My hats off to you. Daily Vets check out rather than facing the shit between their ears, and civilians go upstairs too much too. Only by facing, opening up to the ones that truly want to help, and by quitting accepting the guilt, the blame, can this shit be overcome. Thanks D! Be safe. GT
Thank you a lot of people are afraid or ashamed to talk about these issues. There are many that do there best to deal with it silently and by theirselfs
Good video. Men need to hear this from a man. I would add, recognise it, name it and then talk about it. Sometimes it's hard to talk face to face, so try a helpline. With me, it was an abusive family member and I felt ashamed but burying it brought on panic attacks and agoraphobia. I'm in a much better place now and recently I've started looking in mirrors. Its the craziest thing, but I'm like, is THAT what I look like? I'm not that bad really 😂 We all have our own kind of crazy!
The best way I know how to think about problem is on my bike it relaxes me and I can think clearly. They say there are no motorcycles parked outside psychiatrist office
Hey Danny D’Low… 🤘 What a heart spoken message ❤ I’ll never get done with that asshole who went on putting a gun to my head for 2 days in a row…. This is nearly 40 years ago… at its triggers me almost daily… all because of a girl I was together with for more than 2 years… before we split up and she started dating that dude…. And you never guess…. He went on to be a big hotshot 1%er… for one of the big4…. It’s a pure miracle…. That I haven’t killed somebody a long time ago…. 😉 Much love and respect to you Danny… 🤘👍 Overseas greetings
Depression doesnt fit into a "category" when i found myself withdrawing from those that cared the most about me, thats when I knew. When you want to withdraw into yourself, thats when you need those people the most. Found out I had twins at 19. Bad decisions followed. 10 years of drowning. Will never forget the feeling when I got my above water again. The best friends tell you what you need to hear. Not what you want to hear.
MLLHR Danny D Low Yez it helps to talk to someone else or like DDL said do a video for yourself. Try not to let the depression get get into your head and sit in there and ponder is one that I try to do just something to try it may or may not help. Best of luck.
