    I'm just starting to ride, using a state cycles "fixie" right now and I do enjoy riding it. Love all the videos uploaded that I've watched, but it blows me away that you can talk the entire time while riding lol! I'd pass out. Im hoping that as long as I keep riding regularly my cardio will be better so I don't feel so out of breathe as easily. On mostly flat I can't do 2 miles.

    I've just purchased my first bike and I'm really getting into cycling. This video is so unnecessarily long. That being said, I really like the first person view of cycling and feel that this video is great to watch for that reason alone. The tips given here and there seem more like a bonus. Good stuff, I'll definitely be watching more.

    The aero position you were in has actually been found to be more aero than drops. Most aero position on drops is forearms horizontal on the hoods.

      It's twisting your arms in an unnatural position. I like drop bars or anything that will position my hands in the same position as if I'm walking (naturally) and swaying my arms forward. So Bullhorns would work, or even flat bars with bar ends on them....Just flat bars is a no no for me.

    I do definitely need the drop part. All of my bikes have Road bike handle bars. (Road bike, Hardtail and downhill mountain bike) I felt weird as i was trying to change back and a bit unsafe so i swapped my bars.

      You should put bar ends on them. It will at least give you another position in your arsenal. It will also put your arms in a natural position, as if you were walking and swinging your arms forward.

    I'll never understand why people think there's only 1 hand position on flat bars. I have 3 I use on a regular basis, it's not like you have to be locked in a death grip the whole time. You can also put your hands wherever you want if you take them off the bars.

      Wouldn't recommend it, The Wandering Albatross. High 110+ needs the pressure to prevent sharp rocks from sticking and making a huge hole.
      Pump your road bike every day.

    • @thewanderingalbatross1061
      @thewanderingalbatross1061 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jay Tay You don't need to tell me. My 28c's get 117/120 psi and filled daily.

    • @thewanderingalbatross1061
      @thewanderingalbatross1061 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Personally I don't recommend missing a day. Mine loose about 6 psi at night (subtracting my hose) so the next day my rear will be around 112 so I could skip a day even two or three as my tires recommend 90 psi. However I like them stiff so I fill them daily. YMMV

    Love your videos. Have any recommendations on saddles?

    • @BikeBlogger
      @BikeBlogger  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Erick Batres Hi there, Erick Batres. First thing is you want to get a saddle that fits you. I have another video on that here th-cam.com/video/ZVC9E7Gw-18/w-d-xo.html Secondly, it is personal preference. Some really cushy saddles can be nice for a while but after 1 hour of riding they can become very uncomfortable. I own a range of different saddles and over time I preferred a firmer saddle over a cushy saddle as my muscles have adapted.

      Now that I have it all zeroed in, it offers me the ability to go from full upright "gopher" mode on near bars to my normal grip on the sides, to "into the wind" on the far bars. The MTB style brakes can be used from both the near bars and the sides.

    The problem with cycling and don’t get me wrong I ride around 300km per week is unless you have a high protein diet and do some gym work , god your arms look very thin , and veganisim is a diet where no real protein is obtained , if you tide long kilometres like me you must eat real protein not rice and beans , meat eggs and fish or you will have tiny stick like arms , and not look masculine at all so take my advice vegan and high exertion don’t mix

    • @MybeautifulandamazingPrincess
      @MybeautifulandamazingPrincess 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is great advice
      I'm all for protecting nature and being nice to animals but protein is just essential for your muscles and body recovery.
      And no, the protein you get from a vegan diet isn't the same as eating meat and animal products like eggs and milk, not to mention a vegan diet and lifestyle is way more expensive.
      Also, food with testosterone like red meat is specially important for men
      That's how humans became big and strong, became hunters and fighters. And meat was also an essential factor in the cortex development and humans becoming intelligent
