How to Animate Any Shot Using Just 3 Workflows

  • When making 3D animation in Maya or Blender, choosing the right approach can be a tricky things. Over the years I've done lots of different shots, from cartoony shots, to creature shots, and a combination of these 3 workflows has rarely left me down.
    They might not work well for everyone but hopefully by understanding my thought processes, they can help you to!

    hey great video ! if you were to tackle something like a weight exercise, which method would you go for? I was thinking a pose to pose approach would be suitable, but i wanna hear your thoughts, thanks!

      Good question. At this stage in my career, I would probably do something like that doing layered. I want to see the timing and spacing from the start so I can get the weight right. However, if its your first time doing that time of shot, I would do it stepped :)

      Cheers. I just have a light box from Amazon, one RGB strip and then use my iPhone 13 in 4k 24 fps :)
