- Our miniature dachshund Mac loves getting our attention and snuggles, so we decided to see how he reacts when we ignore him.
Mac is a miniature sausage dog (doxie, teckel, dackel) who lives in Montreal. Follow his adventures here!

We don't own Dachshunds, they own us. What a wonderful arrangement. I love how Mac quietly approaches you to see what you're doing. He's such a grand little guy & deserves all the generous love & attention you give him ❤️🐾
Great breed and basically they are lap dogs. Had one that lived over 16 years and he was a handful loved attention didn’t like to be ignored

A dog that is completely confident that he is loved and wanted. Only a dog who is happy and bonded with his family will behave like that. Lovely to witness.

Moral of the story: Dachshunds cannot, should not and will not be ignored! And for good reason. They're only looking after us. I really like the dachshund comforter on the back of the couch!
Doxies are very much into their humans 😌...their love is overflowing 💕....hugs, cuddles and treats! Doxies are just the absolute best-est ❤️. These little characters are so special 🌸.

My 11 yr-old wire-haired dachshund is just the same. Fausto simply does not 'do' being ignored. He invents new strategies by the day to prevent this happening. One is never alone with a 'Fausto'. Mind you, he does allow me to sleep in his bed,more or less.

Lol I concur! I never knew how lonely I was while using the bathroom until my little guy came along! Lol now he makes sure I’m never lonely… ever! Lol waits patiently outside of the shower too! Lol sometimes he’s a bit dramatic, as if I’m never coming out of the shower! Lol

What a nice gentleman! He reminds of mine... Mine also liked to be in the center of attention. He liked to lie on my knees when I was working from home. I had a keyboard stand, and my friend used to lay very close to it. If I didn't pay him attention for say 5 minutes he would kick the stand with his hind paw reminding me to stop working and pet him.

Must have been too cold to take on a long walk Sunday???? He certainly likes his hugs and attention. It must be hard to get things done with him always wanting to be snuggled. Very cute video mom and dad!

We have a poodle that begged to sit on our laps. After about 10 minutes she became very bored, jumped off, and explore the house for the next 20 minutes. Nothing like going from love to rejection in 10 minutes!

That’s a typical life a hotdog. Mine was just like that. Didn’t like to be ignored, and used to bring his ball and throw it at my feet while I was watching the football game. And if I didn’t pick it up and throw it he would keep nudging it towards my feet. You’re a little hot dog reminds me of mine who died almost a year ago good dog lived 16+ years
