More reverb! All bass players really want loads of reverb on a bass they are trying to evaluate, don't they? Hey, about about some flange too. Why not a long delay as well? These things really help us hear the tone of the actual instrument. Brilliant!

Dear Andy, I have a Warwick acoustic Alien bass and it plays/sounds great, but when you play it it just goes loud for a second then settles down again, then a few diddling later it goes loud again, then settles back down. Can you tell me if this is a Warwick Alien bass problem? I've got 4 other acoustic basses and have never had a problem with them. Is it a preamp problem and how do I get it fixed. It's really annoying. Thanks for your time. Tom

Hi Andy. I liked the very comprehensive clip. It's handy for those of us that can't get the product in our hands to try it. Have you made a video of the 5 String Version of the same upper series Alien Acoustic Bass? I'm hanging out to hear the low B string notes.
Hey andy, just want to know what's the exact name of this model of bass? coz I googled Alien Bass and there's 2 version of the bass popped up, one which has no thumb rest, and this one, apart from the thumb rest, better bridge components, what's the difference between both? cheers!
I am not a big fan of acoustic basses, as 99.9% of them don't project enough volume unplugged, and if I have to amplify it then why the hell would I need this when I can just play a P or J bass? But I have to admit, I love the tone of this thing. The acoustic quality comes through. I wish he went through the tonal range instead of noodling around for 12 minutes though. So, question #1: will it hold it's own unplugged in a setting with a couple of acoustic guitars?
Even though i don't own this particular bass, i have a couple of acoustic basses that don't have volume problems (obviously when unplugged) at all when playing with guitars or other instruments in general, so i don't understand your problem
@@marcoesposito8753 What kind of settings are you playing in? The majority of them are barely audible unplugged over a couple of dreadnoughts. And forget about them in a band setting with drums or other instruments Not MY problem, a fact. Law of physics. They don't push enough air to capture bass frequencies or volume. That's why an upright is really the only acoustic bass that can cover it. (And we already know that upright players had to switch to a P bass in the 50's to be heard when music got louder).
