Hell yeah. I'm a designer and artist, and I am all for people having access to objects as well as ideas. I love to create for the sake of creation. Sharing ideas and art feels good. If I didn't need money for bare bones stuff, I'd forgo it all together. Not sure if you're Lloyd Kaufman or someone else with Troma, but thanks for trying to get the word out about IP shenanigans.
I like how the video starts out as nonsense then turns into him destroying Disney, the Chinese, Hilary Clinton, the Oscars and Will Smith. Lloyd is a fucking savage
At first I thought he was just joking about that Chinese thing, then after 5 minutes of non stop chinese hating I started to doubt life and everything.
in case theres any confusion: lloyd didnt use "fuck" as an adjective. He used it as a verb. "he is a-fucking uncle tom!".... uncle tom referring to tom cruise since will smith is a known scientologist.
Davis Navarro Sure, what is confusing you? Lloyd Kaufman was in Guardians of the Galaxy. It was a brief cameo but he is in there. As he gave James Gunn (director of GotG) his break or something like that. Disney owns Marvel, so Lloyd was in a Disney film.
Davis Navarro No problem. If I remember correctly the camera pans round to angry prisoner's faces, during them entering the prison scene and Lloyd is there in his yellow jumpsuit among them, screaming down at the new inmates. Yes it will be a little friendship thing, as well as Gunn respecting where he came from. Look out for it the next time you watch it.
Kaufman is one of those people whose work I can't say I 100% enjoy but man, is he cool and has his head in the right mindset and heart in the right place.
I am 32, I liked Mel Brooks films growing up, that said, I had no idea how fucking badass and punk rock Mel Brooks is nor that he makes films under the name Kaufman nor his involvement with Troma films nor his views on fair use. Thank you Adam, this is one of my favorite interviews of all time now. Also, thank you for spreading knowledge on public domain and Disney's psychotic abuse of IP.
And that's why Lloyd Kaufman is where he is. "What's your favorite movie you've made?" "Oh, it's the recent one, it's gonna come out soon, it's really good, check it oooout!" The man excels at self promotion and he manages to be goofy and classy at the same time. Always a pleasure to watch and even learn from him. Good work, Adam.
***** Movies are business and if you're not taking every opportunity to promote, you're a bad businessman. There's no such thing as "shame" in PR. If you want your product to be out there, you will say that you like it even if you hate it. Leave conscience to independent artistic individuals, don't try to find it in a man who runs a studio.
***** Because there are big artists who can be honest and small artists who can be liars and vice versa. The world is not black and white. I just gave you an example of a person who *can* be honest, doesn't mean all independent artists (especially people who run busineses) are honest. What's your point? You're trying to present my second comment as self contradictory when it really isn't.
***** Say, you want to create a product and then distribute it to as many people as possible. What are you going to say? "My product is kinda okay, it has some good sides and some bad sides... overall it's just alright if you're into this thing, also, personally I don't really like it..." - this will not sell you a lot of copies. So, what do you do to sell more? You say only positive things and try to hide negative things. Does that count as lying? Maybe. Is it that offensive, though? I don't think so. As long as it's not out right false advertisement I'm alright with that. And why do you instantly assume he's dishonest? Maybe it IS his favorite movie, you'll never know.
***** Can you provide actual arguments instead of snark? It's how it works, like it or not. Bottom line, in my first comment I admired him as a businessman, not an artist. Promotion was dishonest since the day money was invented. If you don't yell "mah tomatoes is the freshest tomatoes in da village" on the market, you will not beat the competition.
You had good questions prepared (maybe a couple extra spicy ones would be fine, too), Thank you for this interview, Adam. Lloyd is a lot of fun, and Troma movies are wonderful, i've been watching them for years.
Man, your videos are like the movies on your Best Of Lists. I never regretted watching a single one. This interview was particularly awesome. What a great guy to interview and you did very good!
Congratulations on another awesome interview Adam. Mr. Kaufman is a personal hero of mine, and it's great to hear him speak so frankly on the current state of cinema.
lol @ "a pride of wolves" XD I fuckin' love this sweet old fella. There are a lot of people I want to meet because of their art, but Lloyd Kaufman is that kind of person I want to meet based purely on his own personality. What I love most though is how fast he is able to process and reply to whatever input he's given. It's like he is a master of his own brain. Adam this interview has increased my already burgeoning interest in Troma, and I think I'll be seeing Poultrygeist soon.
God Hypothesis Jesus fucking Christ, let's not stop there. Get those two, G-Time Johnny, Gail Chord-Schuler, Jim Ass, and Patrick Coleman on the same episode. The DP to End All DPs... because it would never fucking end. Also, they really need to get Adum on the show already.
i almost thought that the china thing was a racist rant and then he said he studied them at Yale and "they're a horrible Governmemt" lol so he was on about their leaders/business elite. He has such a great outlook on just about everything
when communist china started out, they had a good chance of becoming a fair society, but now they have gone back to being crony capitalists and imperialists. no wonder why the USA loves china...I consider myself a socialist of a marxist persuasion, and I absolutely hate the chinese government..
I'm going to try to watch all of this guys films now. Seems like a great guy who speaks his mind. Can't wait to see how he relays what is in his mind through his films.
Lloyd Kaufman destroyed my childhood in such amazingly wonderful ways. Also Tromeo and Juliet might be Troma's best film to date. Terror Firmer a close second though.
Adam this is the best goddamn interview I've ever seen, you're a fucking natural and you ask all the hard hitting questions. You might be in the wrong career! Edit: I'd never heard of Loyd Kaufman before but before this video was over I think I fell in love with him.
This is the first time I've even heard of Lloyd Kaufman; He's on some other level, I legitimately can't tell if this guy is absolutely genius or absolutely crazy, I love it.
haha very nice to see this kind of content on here, really broad. Bit of a weird tangent about the Chinese though, in actual fact made me want to go and read more about it... maybe over on Lloyd's channel...
Check out Troma's TH-cam channel, he has plenty of videos where he just speaks his opinions on the film industry, my favourite one is the video where he talks to Matt Stone and Trey Parker about Cannibal the Musical
He's done plenty of interviews (a lot of which can be found on the Troma TH-cam channels) and he has written plenty of books and essays (that can be found on Troma.com under Lloyd's Roids).
I'm shocked he liked it. The movie was awful. Visually it was very compelling but it's message was understood about three minutes into the film and never really expands.
no watch legend of the demon chicken, the movie my history teacher was in. Pst... he said on opening night he left the theater saying even he couldnt stand it.
Lloyd is Such a Great Guy Smart as a Whip. He's The Inspiration for me that's why i'm in Pre-Production with a Film i'm Making ( Project #2 ) Grabbed onto Lloyd's Coat Tails.. You Can Learn a Ton of Movie making Techniques Couldn't be Anymore Proud to have Mr Kaufman as a Close Friend i loved Playing " Skippy " in The Toxic Avenger i would do it Again in a Minute.
Lloyd Kaufman is such an eccentric character but he made some surprisingly insightful and knowledgeable points, particularly during the discussion on fair use. This would not be something to figure based on films like Poultrygeist. Keep doing interviews, Adam, because they are excellent.
Lloyd was high on cat tranquilizers, he meant Sumner Redstone, not Summer Meyerson.
Lmao
I know I’m late but that reference is so god damned obscure. I need to do research to understand this joke. Be right back.
Ketamine! YUM! Troma screams dissociative abuse. Maybe that's why i'm drawn to it, it gives the feeling of watching something in a dissociated state.
Thanks for sharing the Tromatic love! Give art back to the people!
Lloyd I loved this interview so much! Would love to see you start a podcast or something like that, you sound like a pretty smart guy. :)
Yes!
I had no idea that TromaMovies even existed before watching this interview but now I will have to watch all your films! Great interview!
I hope you guys are at the next RTX I still want to me you sir kinda missed my chane at a wonder con sadly you were not there.
I like how the video starts out as nonsense then turns into him destroying Disney, the Chinese, Hilary Clinton, the Oscars and Will Smith.
Lloyd is a fucking savage
At first I thought he was just joking about that Chinese thing, then after 5 minutes of non stop chinese hating I started to doubt life and everything.
those will Smith words were ahead of their time
i love how this guy just fucks with adam
Does he or does he fuck with YOU
Brian Sebor lloyd kaufman fucks with everybody
you must not know who Lloyd Kauffman is.
The guy's a trip, super nice. Met him once before when Return to Nuke Em High came to town. So awesome.
He fucks with everyone he's hilarious.
This man is a legend. Some day, all of his satirical films will be hailed as masterpieces.
They already are XD at least in my household

Dolphin Man is my hero.
Watch Dolphinman in his own short, "Dolphinman Battles The Sex Lobsters" on Troma Now (watch.troma.com)!
Hell yes!!!
+TromaMovies you are my hero
Heyyyyy dawg
Dolphin man is best man
'will smith...he's a fuckin' uncle tom'
damn thats funny
also, notice he didn't cover that with 'in my opinion'
He the best
in case theres any confusion: lloyd didnt use "fuck" as an adjective. He used it as a verb. "he is a-fucking uncle tom!"....
uncle tom referring to tom cruise since will smith is a known scientologist.
I like his stance against Disney, especially when you consider he was in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Davis Navarro Sure, what is confusing you?
Lloyd Kaufman was in Guardians of the Galaxy. It was a brief cameo but he is in there. As he gave James Gunn (director of GotG) his break or something like that.
Disney owns Marvel, so Lloyd was in a Disney film.

i honestly didnt notice that though i did catch the slither worms and other things in the movie. Thanks for letting us know
Sassy Predator Aye mate, you're welcome.
Punkster Daddy
Also red dwarf is the shit
Kaufman is one of those people whose work I can't say I 100% enjoy but man, is he cool and has his head in the right mindset and heart in the right place.
YES! I love how Lloyd is coming out and speaking truth about China and Disney. Preach on Lloyd!
In honor of this Lloyd Kaufman interview, I recommend you finish part 5 of a certain Charlie Kaufman film. Kaufman fever!
It's funny how he's interviewed two Kaufmans
Now we just need an Andy Kaufman interview to finish the series
I love how dolphin man nods throughout until Kaufman starts talking about the Chinese he stops.
Gotta keep his social credit score high
Love Lloyd so much, he has such artistic integrity but also does not take himself seriously at all. Loves what he does and does it for the art.
Wow, you're great at landing interviews with people with the surname Kaufman.
I really hope you realize that's not Mel Brookes
Nope, I actually thought he was. He really does look like him doesn't he. *copies and pastes everything I said about Mel Brooks onto Lloyd Kaufman*
lol
I um. I also had to look it up to make sure he was joking...
"No one listens to Lloyd Kaufman. I've got, like, 6 fucking fans" has to be my favourite line from this interivew
"Do you play video games?"
"The Chinese needs to evolve into a democratic government."
Funny how those things go down.

***** Because there are big artists who can be honest and small artists who can be liars and vice versa. The world is not black and white. Kauffman is on point with just about EVERYTHING.
Lloyd Kaufman spitting surprisingly straight facts for a man who was involved with Poultrygeist
You had good questions prepared (maybe a couple extra spicy ones would be fine, too), Thank you for this interview, Adam.
Lloyd is a lot of fun, and Troma movies are wonderful, i've been watching them for years.
Man, Mel Brooks is awesome.
dude! it's so cool you got to interview him, congrats!
I could listen to him talk for hours.
Great interview. Lloyd is a great man. Doesn't even charge for autographs or pics.
Man, your videos are like the movies on your Best Of Lists. I never regretted watching a single one. This interview was particularly awesome. What a great guy to interview and you did very good!
lloyd: goes off for 20 minutes
adam: this is exactly what i wanted
Congratulations on another awesome interview Adam. Mr. Kaufman is a personal hero of mine, and it's great to hear him speak so frankly on the current state of cinema.
Lloyd Kaufman is honestly one of my favorite people.
my one and only role model. Lloyd Kaufman. I've never looked up to any man before. the only amazing human left on earth.
lol @ "a pride of wolves" XD
I fuckin' love this sweet old fella. There are a lot of people I want to meet because of their art, but Lloyd Kaufman is that kind of person I want to meet based purely on his own personality. Adam this interview has increased my already burgeoning interest in Troma, and I think I'll be seeing Poultrygeist soon.
I had no idea who this man was until just now and I feel like something was missing before!
Thank you for this. We can all use more Kaufman in our lives.
That was the funniest damn thing I've seen all day. It's so hard to tell if Kaufman is being serious or sarcastic most of the time.
This guy should go on Drunken Peasants. I'd love to hear him talk like this for two and a half hours.
I agree. Imagine him watching a Brett Keane video. priceless.
God Hypothesis Lloyd Kaufman is lying scam artist indivijul that gets himself in paticlur situations.
Or have Lloyd talk to Howard Bloom, then the show would never end lol.
What's the sitjuwation with this Dolphin individjul?
Lloyd Kaufman's a true legend. Really cool to see him on the channel.
any interview that ends with "will smith... he's a fuckin uncle tom!" is definitely memorable
If I wasn't already sad about not being at RTX I sure as hell am now, knowing that you were there.
i almost thought that the china thing was a racist rant and then he said he studied them at Yale and "they're a horrible Governmemt" lol so he was on about their leaders/business elite. He has such a great outlook on just about everything
"even though i'm a self-hating jew" HAHA OMG
when communist china started out, they had a good chance of becoming a fair society, but now they have gone back to being crony capitalists and imperialists. no wonder why the USA loves china...I consider myself a socialist of a marxist persuasion, and I absolutely hate the chinese government..
Adum has a great, stable, mix of both silly and intelligent stuff.
Fuckin love you man
I'm going to try to watch all of this guys films now. Seems like a great guy who speaks his mind. Can't wait to see how he relays what is in his mind through his films.
So how was it?
"I've got like 6 fans" holy shit this guy's hilarious
Great interview, I love seeing Lloyd at cons he's always nice and hilarious
Kaufman with all the subtle jokes. My god I can't stop laughing.

I met Lloyd a few years ago at Montreal Comic Con. I even got to film his panel. He was such a sweet guy. I hope I get to see him again.
I love how the dolphin dude is just chillin
Lloyd is so cool and friendly in person. You asked some really good questions as well. Great to hear his honest opinions on these subjects.
Holy crap, It's Lloyd Kaufman, President of Troma Studios, and creator of The Toxic Avenger!
Ahhh thank you so much for this! Lloyd's a smart cookie and I think you brought some good questions that he liked and got to rant on.

This man is truly a legend.

Lloyd is really insightful, especially loved some of his other interviews.
haha very nice to see this kind of content on here, really broad. Bit of a weird tangent about the Chinese though, in actual fact made me want to go and read more about it... maybe over on Lloyd's channel...
That's the Koffman experience
Oh! This was the guy from that AVGN review! I love this guy, he's hilarious.
Lloyd Kaufman is the most deadpan man on earth
It's funny how this is your 2nd interview with a Kaufman
So, Lloyd played as a guest star in the Toxic Avengers AVGN episode while the Nerd is making a cameo appearance. That's pretty cool.
Great video/interview! Kaufman is hilarious, I have to check out his films.
Didnt know that Lloyd Kaufman was THAT aweseome
It's awesome that both these people were at RTX.
I watched Suicide after watching this a few weeks back and I must saw, Lloyd is not lying. I will never forget that film.
He seems like a guy I wouldn't mind interviewing myself :) Great video LOVED IT
Kaufman is the perfect grandfather...
thank god for his long life, so he can contribute more with his content.
Don't worry, Lloyd. I'm a fan. Much love.
I love his Troma stuff - AND Young Frankenstein! Excellent job! Return to Return to Nukem was excellent!
Does he have any videos or audio clips of him expressing about his views? i really like to listen to him talk :D
PEEING
i learned so much just off of this. lol
+Telic he's written a number of books on film and the film industry
Check out Troma's TH-cam channel, he has plenty of videos where he just speaks his opinions on the film industry, my favourite one is the video where he talks to Matt Stone and Trey Parker about Cannibal the Musical

The Lobster Quickie Niqqa?
I'm pretty sure he talked about it in one of his Google Hangouts.. he said he liked it
On his IMDb page he gave it an 8, which is high for him, so safe to say he liked it.
I loved it
I love your interviews!
