  • Welcome back to our cottage garden. Here is our November tour and a look at some of the autumn colours. I've been putting some of the plants to bed for the winter, while others haven't slowed down yet. Sorry it took us a little while to upload this one, it's been really rainy here this month! Better late than never :)

    I love all the different levels of your garden. The stone walls and steps that curve around it are enchanting, as are your many interesting small buildings. I'm about to put 6 Helebores in my woodland garden, and now that you've shown the winter flowering Clematis , I'm on the search for one. Thanks for the lovely tour. Jeri

    The garden is looking beautiful and autumnal :) I wouldn't worry about digging out your dahlias, either, if you'd like to see them there again next year. They survive pretty well through most of the UK with a good mulch of compost, and tulip bulbs can be planted around them.

    Just cut your sweet peas right back above a set of leaves, this will make them bush out into stronger healthier plants and they won’t get all tangled up, if they continue to grow spindly, cut them back again.

    love love your large garden with many "rooms". Additionally, your dress is beautiful! where can I buy? Haven't planted my bulbs in the pots just yet and just work in a very small area of my garden when weather permits. It is quite cold here in Maryland and windy, so jump out and jump backing! Love it though! Cheers

    I have an allotment/community garden here in Victoria BC Canada and it’s quite big for such things here. It’s a triangle but 35 ft long and 12-15 ft wide at the top. Have to say sunchokes/Jerusalem artichokes were horrible to digest in my experience and I have an almost visceral response just hearing about them☺️

    How do you secure your raspberry tops to the ground when making the hoops ?

  • @haw_n_thorne
    @haw_n_thorne ปีที่แล้ว

    When you say you train the raspberries in hoops- I think you said the same about roses?- are you training them on a structure or forming the hoop yourself out of the canes themselves?

    Fav gardening TH-cam channels? Mine are all in the UK: Lovely Greens, Richard and Paul, Vivis Kitchen Garden and Jessie at Plot 57. Epic Gardening and Jacques in the Garden in Calif. but the UK ones are better for my zone. Anyone have any to add?

    Too much of non stop talk starts jarring. Less of it could let one enjoy the beautiful garden just as one can see it. I find I have to turn off sound to do so.
