- Hey, this is a complete guide on Apocalyptic Shadow, the newest end game in Honkai: Star Rail coming in 2.3. It is a one wave one boss rush mode with many awesome mechanics that will change your team compositions and strategies. It gives tons of Stellar Jades as always if you strategize correctly, but I also talk about tons of gameplay tips and the best units (like Firefly, Ruan Mei, and Boothill), and teams, like Super Break, so you know how to get max rewards! What I'll use? Easy, the same team as ever xD. Though this time, I'll get Firefly (like you said during your stream Q&A, her LC isn't too necessary so Firefly E1 or E2 if I'm lucky.) and Acheron will still be there. I just need to build Gallagher to have Firefly's team ready.

Those 80 jades are gonna be taunting me if I don't at least try to get them, hopefully i can get it since i have Acheron and Boothill, and hopefully Firefly soon, I recently finished my very first MoC 12 (only 2 stars though, finished it on cycle 17 so I lost one star) so I hope I can do this too

@@LucasDerze i only had one good DPS and that was Acheron, so I could easily clear one side but the other was either impossible or very hard, I was actually stuck on stage 7-8 on most MoCs before getting Boothill, but after I got him and built him, everything changed and i was able to clear MoC 12 pretty easily l, not fast enough though, I'm still missing Bronya so he doesn't have his best team yet, and i still need to build him more, still I'm happy i went from being stuck at 7-8 to clearing MoC 11 and everything before with 3 stars and getting two stars at MoC 12, all because I pulled one character.
I started during Huohuo's banner by the way, and i was saving up for Acheron ever since Ruan's banner

I have no problems on Argenti's side but holy damn Cocolia is beating my ass. I'm having difficulty surviving and dealing damage even with Kafka and Black Swan. I wish I have 2 Ruan Meis

if they update MOC to save your best Node run would be amazing. being able to star Argenti without having to redo Cocolia is a great addition
It will probably be the same case as when PF launched, where the first version is reasonably easy and flexible to attract players only for future versions to be increasingly difficult and biased towards new characters
It will, don't worry this is just a Omg! Pull Firefly and Boothill guys, i swear there are not gonna be some BS enemies in 2 patches later
Break will probably be to AS what DoT is to PF. Every other cycle you'll either have the team or you won't and just get fucked that month. Break is at least more accessible than DoT is thanks to HTB, but who knows if it'll be balanced with that in mind.
Oh trust me, this first one is not easy at all except for dedicated break DPS like Firefly and Boothill.
Honestly this thing already feels like "use that one firefly team or kiss 3 stars goodbye" for difficulty 4 at least
Cut the garbage take. PF has been the same difficulty, and varying favored units like any MoC buff and like it will be with the new game mode. Just because you don't match a given rotation with your account doesn't mean it's less flexible. It probably means you got misled by the community content instead of making the right calls.

We need more break/superbreak supports YESTERDAY, because Boothill and Firefly are going to be on each others throat over who gets to have Ruan Mei and Harmony MC lol

Boothill works great without HMC, but ruan mei in other case
Pretty sure Boothill doesn't really need HMC and can easily be subbed for RM. While Firefly's best support is HMC, RM is a great add-on but not a need.
Boothill work great with HMC but not really a core. but Fire fly tho, since she has Super break mechanic build in it will more impactfull on Fire Fly
Asta is a good replacement for Ruan Mei in the case of Firefly, she only needs HMC to work, you can send RM to Boothil with no issue.

143 for 700 AV is a breakpoint for regular MoC, optimizing over (0-based) 4 cycles and 2 waves. 4/5 cycle split are common for f2p. So some breakpoints are still very useful for f2p and carries over anyway.

How do you stay alive on Cocolia in the final phase in #3? Even with Adventurine and Firefly my units get wiped out before I can take out the ice crystals.
this mode is fun. also i love how the buff is quite flexible. i managed to get 12 stars.
node 1 with acheron, pela, sw, aventurine. node 2 with a wacky team of DHIL, ruan mei, gallagher, hmc.
the super break buff is so OP. i can't get 3300 using DHIL & sparkle in node 2.
I used Luka main dps for argenti and it was so satisfying to watch his HP get deleted

im planing to save up jades and pull for argenti, but considering he's erudition its most probably that i use him in pure fiction most of the time
but i dont want to use only for pure fiction, do you think he's gonna be good for moc?
Dude, Argenti is a Nuker. On Single Target his damage is INSANE. You are not losing out on either Pure Fiction and MOC

Argenti hits hard in aoe situations and his full ult hits 7 times randomly spread out, so if you can pump up his energy regen or help battery him he will be very dangerous to any single or pair of enemies.
Argenti is INSANE in PF, any physical weakness is cake walk for him and easy to play. for MoC just need tune your speed and make sure use his Ult at Max energy for Masive dmg nuke. so yea Argenti is what Erudition unit be. not like Certain General with Snail yelow Susanoo
Everywhere I look, I'm just seeing that I have no team comp listed for Cocolia, as I lack 1-2 of the 5* per comp, vs my argenti boss getting stomped by firefly.

Hey Guoba, will you ever make a guide on elite enemy mechanics?? Tbh there are a lot of enemy mechanics I dont know well enough & I think a guide on that would be pretty amazing! I like your guides in general, they're very thorough & easy to understand. But while I understand the character themselves, I dont think I always understand the mobs we fight to be optimal.
Also, most hints the game gives us during combat disappears after 2 seconds & I never even had time to read what it said xD
we need part 2 of Aetherium Wars, that event was actually very helpful to understand enemy mechanics and even their damage types

Hopefully it doesn’t stay as a break focused gamemode I’m pulling Firefly so it affects me little but I would still want it to be a single target based gamemode to give a purpose for hunts existence

so does AP (apocalyptic shadow) allows you to use a character for both teams or does it works like MoC and PF?

Always, and I mean always bring HMC to fight Argenti. HMC is not a QoL, he is a necessity in this cycle because of how little damage you do without breaking.
Can you make an updated Xueyi guide with superbreak teams in mind? I'm really struggling with what I should build on her
Crit DPS with a Break Rope. Quantum Set and Talia planetary set. Aeons LC and try to get the speed & crit ratio first. Any additional break effect & atk% is a bonus, but focus on the spd & crit ratio. If you run her with Ruin Me and Hatblazer you usually don't need that much additional break effect. You can also run her with Tingyun or Bronya if you don't have Ruan Mei.
As she has to conversion to break effect, she stills performs best as a hybrid in super break effect team. Your critical hits will still deal a ton of damage in addition to the super break damage. Keep in mind that her E6 is not necessary, but increases her overall damage by a lot.
@@lastbaumstanding1802 I'm planning to play her with Sparkle so speed is kinda useless, meaning that I won't get the bonus break effect from Talia, so I was thinking Inert would be her best set. And I was also thinking wether I should go ATK or DMG orb cause she already gets so much DMG% from break effect + Sparkle but she also gets a lot of attack from Aeon + ATK boots so I wanted to see the math on which is better

Not really. In super break you can go iron cavalry but it’s not too significant, and in ff or fire teams you can go forge
Is steadfast safeguard a part of the event buff like will it get changed in the next As cycle same as moc and pf or is it permanent
We will see in 6 weeks ^^ if it’s permanent then break will always be prioritised on top of the buffs

I pulled mainly for supports and put more effort into them and now I'm getting my karma
Nvm just got boothill, investing in my supports was Def worth it.
Missing the last two rewards in each endgame mode accounts for only 3 pulls, and some leveling materials and relic remains from the Jokes Come True shop (you should have enough for the Self-Modeling Resin).
For reference, most patches have been providing 100 or more pulls between permanent additions and limited events. Given that, while 3 pulls isn't nothing by any means, it's also not enough to merit getting worked up over if you're still building up your characters or the patch's buffs don't synergize with any of your teams very well.
it takes one pull to get a 5 star. So missing out on 3 pulls is potentially missing 3 5 stars. Not worth imo

I've been consistently max starring MoC since Luocha's first banner (PF too since its release), so it's going to be a feelsbadman moment if I can't also max star AS. Seems like Firefly is a free "I win" button so that's great for me, I was going to pull her regardless. Hopefully Acheron is very strong too as you suggested. I do have a cracked E1S1 Jingliu as well but at this point she's probably going to start seeing less use (at least outside of MoC)... I noticed you said the enemies hit you very frequently. Do you think Clara is also a good choice against Argenti?
Yes, clara is decent against Argenti because the crosses hit quite frequently in first phase. After that i kept Numby on him because taunt doesn't stop him

@@okers12 The time it takes is outside the action value we use and the fact it's no longer separated by cycles means you don't need it to go faster just to reset the cycle duration. The cc is a bigger concern, the obvious answer is getting rid of FX

Lol forgot to mention xueyi is free. But yeah no entanglement but super break xueyi can just kill it during its downtime, maybe hybrid could too if relying on crit based dmg
The boss will not recover from break, especially not a quantum break. It's meant to die when you deplete the bar, it wouldn't get to the entanglement damage.
As a simulated universe player, I’m glad we can finally experience the harder bosses in a way they actually let us put up a fight while putting up a fight.
Can't wait to finish getting DHIL eidoleons and bruteforce this mode with his stupid E6 xD In the meantime I'll have a Firefly break team, and a FUA Premium team.

I am happy that i still can 12star all 3 modes with only E0S0 5stars, but i still regret not having acherons LC and not having E1S1 topaz.

aventurine is the opposite of fuxuan, you dont want a single unit get wrecked by enemies and i guess boothills taunt makes him always a target?
Where are you using your Boothill (Cocolia or Argenti), and do you have a Fu Xuan?
Super super excited for this new game mode, i love my hunt units and i really wanted a mode like this to unleash their potential :)
The ads summoning means it’s not as hunt based as some would hope but imo they still do great since single target toughness is awesome for the break :)

Wild how missing one character seems to cripple Acheron. I have good teams for her in specific content, but it seems like her ideal 2 comps are out of reach due to missing a lightcone or not having Silver Wolf.

A new gamemode when i cant even clear the last level of the ither two... Living at 130 SPD average is really hurting me.
I've just recently broke out of MoC final star curse and now it's come for me again. The fact that it's not mandatory jade count wise is reassuring ig, but it's painful to look at.
I will say, this is the easiest of the bunch for me. I still can't get past 3rd stage pure fiction and 8th stage moc, but i got 11 stars on apocalyptic shadow with little resets

Couldn't clear second side with Ratio, tried with Jingliu and after a couple of attempts I got it. Now I hate Argenti boss

im noticing silver wolf literally cannot implant weakness in this game mode at all, trying to implant imaginary for cocolia to get toughness chip damage from aventurine and it only implants weaknesses she's already weak to :\
Argenti is easy for me with my FUA team (Dr Ratio, Aventurine, Pela, Robin) but im having hard time with Cocolia. Jingyuan is my DPS but for some reason it's slow. I had Jingyuan, Fuxuan, Gallagher & Tingyuan. Maybe i can try putting Pela in the first team instead. Though, Gallagher is nto doing well against Cocolia so maybe I can switch him with someone??? Also, thank you for the tips!
P.S. I don't have other DPS btw.

I suffered… bad.. my acheron team can clear the second node with Argenti even though it took a long time. My DoT team however died because I don’t have the required sustain to clear cocolia.. I got firefly now but I have to wait weeks to get her recommended lightcone, fall of an aeon including many other characters to build.

Unironically Robin/Sparkle/Bronya with HMC, RM and Gallagher are three very viable team for node 2.
i can 3 star the last stage for cocolia with ff but cant even survive argenti with topaz, clara robin and fu xuan, tbf i only started playing recently but damn it is tough
Do you have advice for Argenti 2nd phase when he becomes invulnerable or unhittable?
Is that the part where Argenti forces your party members to only attack the shield summons opposite them?

i kinda thought that game mode was invented for hunt characters just like pure fiction for erudition. but now it’s for break meta. i hope next rotations will clear things out

Yes ;) said it in the vid at some point. It refreshes ults instead of energy so it works for her
I'm so happy when I saw Cocolia because I immediately went "YES FINALLY A XUEYI ANGLE" I've been dying to see my Xueyi in action again and I'm so happy I get to try out Super Break Xueyi in this mode.
I'm still a little sketchy with how the IPC team perform against Argenti, while he does perfectly line up with the team's element (Fire - Topaz, Imaginary - Aventurine and Ratio, Physical - Robin) seeing that he does get his toughness bar locked and you need to take out the summons first, I hope those summons aren't extremely stupidly tanky.
No Entangled though ....
And idk are the ice mobs quantum weak?
@@okers12 Cocolia's weaknesses go away and each ice pillar gets one. And the boss is designed to die while broken, you wouldn't get to the entanglement damage evne if they weren't immune.

This AS is. When the next one is say FUA based (for example) it will be a Robin check instead. It's only a RM check because our current banner and the next one are both Break DPS

This is a game knowledge check. If you neglected supports of different elements because you only play hypercarry with buffers that don't attack, tough luck. If you built your account horizontally likea smart gacha player, you're golden.

Argenti doesnt have lightning weakness and has lightning res. It would be better to swap them around

@@BenBeckman888 Even with Silver Wolf it won't help much unless you have E6 Acheron. The boss's RES is buffed to 60 on their non-weaknesses. SW only reduces it by 20.
