- It's time to go through the top light cones for the "Break Meta" Honkai: Star Rail has been promoting recently. Where base stats and DMG buffs are less relevant and SPD and BE is the new way, we have some old light cones that get better, as well as strong cones that keep on winning. I go through every cone I think players should look out for for break characters, and if you have any other suggestions let me know! I hope it helps.

While we're here I do have a question about Super Break: Whose BE does it scale off of? The HarMC, the person attacking, or the person that broke the target?

With this new way of building characters they need to add a relic loadout system. I would definitely be more willing to try out BE teams if that didnt mean swapping all the relics and LC on every character every time you want to run them with HMC

It's crazy how Harmony MC have single-handedly raised the stocks of several characters and now several LCs. Like I would have never thought about using Xueyi (although she IS very cool), Galagher, or even Sushang again; and now all I can think about is building them.
Don't fall into the trap of building them if you don't ever plan to get thier best teams.
My e4 Xueyi with over 350% break effect still only does 115k an ult. Maybe 40k a skill use. This is without Ruan Mei buffing the toughness dmg which helps alot.
Ruan Mei Buffs less than the MC when talking about break dps by a long shot but she is the only way to make it's 10x easier for units that aren't Boothill to break.
If I get her I can get rid of 10 of my spd too which will help me add 23% more break effect and also add crit.
I have 2 builds for Xueyi. 70/133 crit with 330 BE and 130 SPD in battle.
Or 60/80 crit with 370 BE 149 SPD in Battle.
Without Ruan the current MOC clear is still 5 cycles with both builds and teams I use.
Do build galagher, i honestly havent used huohuo since i got him. Huo huo is definitely the best healer, but galagher gets the job done, plus he is amazingo for breaking. In my kafka team i always use him if there is fire weak enemies, even tho he doesn’t apply dot, i time him to break the enemies, wich isnt hard at all since his ult advances him 100%

Honestly he is just a different version of Luocha. They are equal in their healing capabilities. Gallagher however can deal dmg atleast and in super break teams it gets even higher.
Mine has no issues healing. It only becomes an issue like with every healer in the game when the enemy just hits the same ally over and over before Gallaghers turn.
I haven't used Fu Xuan or Lynx really unless I'm forced to since I got him tbh.
@@Helperishere Gallagher passive healing might be only not enough if you're using Harmony characters that don't attack much (Bronya, Sparkle) but usually you build them defensively anyways that Gallagher can just skill once in a while to top them off. That's less SP gained from Gallagher though, so that's something to keep in mind. With Nihility supports though, or Harmony characters that attack a lot (Tingyun, Hanya, RM, HMC) he's disgustingly strong and comfy
@@leonidesbabanto1585 Even with my Sparkle he works perfectly. Sparkle is tanky with her signature LC and I only sometimes need to use skill to heal her. Usually the Besotted augmented attack heal gets her enough hp to not worry about it.
I only ever have issues in the current MoC 12 bc rng comes into play. If the dino hits one target multiple times aswell as Cocolia hitting them they may get extremely low.
The only time I'll ever suggest Luocha tbh is if you wanna be lazy bc of his easy emergency heal or if you're running Bronya since she is so sp negative. Specifically with Boothill since he taunts.

The funny thing is is that if you dont have any viable Cone, they dont mind having a 0 passive cone lol.
Until we get many more cones that enable break then we kinda chilling with our 3* options too
So long as you have RM at least. Superbreak does fuck all without her 50% damage buff no matter what LCs or Break Effect you have stacked.

@@Cr3zant Super Break does not scale off DMG bonus though, only the Harmony MC A2 DMG boost
unless you mean indirect dmg boost with the rest of her kit (spd, res pen, break efficiency, ult enemy turn negate)

I wanted sooooo bad to get his E6 but his E4 is what i had to settle for since i was already at E2 Acheron. Of course Dan Heng and Pela are freaking E20 by now though 🙄

If only it doesnt turn off. Its cons is that it basically comes back only after your next turn so it sucks when you get hit when most bosses have AOE.

Excited for the new break effect archetype cause it's an interesting deviation from CRITS and DOTS, hoping it'll become a proper third pillar for the game and won't get overshadowed by the main two.

I think it might finally be useful on Boothill, as his damage seems to come from Basic Attacks or Skill and you just use his Ultimate to mark weaknesses

Also a DoT player, I'm so glad a lot of people playing DoT said Ruan Mei was basically BiS. Now we get to start building break teams with the best supports for it (RM and HMC)

I'm glad to see someone talking about the break meta, particularly 3 star cones and HMC. I think many people have glossed over not only HMC, but these 3 star light cones just on the basis that it's very different to what we are used to (TB being mid, focus on 4 and 5 star cones). Before I watched this vid I decided to try Kafka Himkeo with Ruan Mei and HMC as you were showing in the background, and I was really surprised with the performance. Currently waiting to max out my Serval, as I think there's a chance to 0 cycle with Ruan Mei, HMC, Kafka, and Serval on current MOC 12. I really love super break as it's such a shake up to how we usually build, and the playstyle is really fun and satisfying.

ITS BREAKIN TIME
Break Effect(and Super Break) is an interesting mechanic to build teams around. It has some requirements you can play around by playing around the challenge you're facing or you can just use Xueyi or Boothill(or SW) to make it more consistent. The downside is that you can't just throw Ruan Mei in a team without thinking,because if you're playing MoC or PF the Break team will always want her and there isn't really an option that's similar to her(well,Robin is,but then in this scenario you'd need to have both)

Solitary Healing is amazing for Kafka in PF, break build or atk build. She gets so much extra energy from the passive and can spam her ult back to back with it, especially with Tingyun. I run her with ERR Rope and if I had a decent relic set, Thief set for more energy.

Damm I hope Memories of the past lightcone comes in Firefly's LC banner, I already have one S5 one, but I want another S5 to run both MC and Ruan Mei together....
There's one way to work around I can think of if having only 1 MotP (superimpose or not) that normally are bind to RM. When pairing with HMC, if you can unlock his/her e4 that share 15% of the BE% then RM can use other harmony lc like Bronya one etc and get her threshold of 180% or more from HMC.

I think incessant rain is super useful on Welt and I use it on him a lot for Ratio and acheron teams. It gives him the stats he needs and makes him much easier to build.
Updated Sushang guide? Need to know what to optimize as a hybrid DPS. What is the max amount of break effect needed before investing more into crit/atk?
After watching this guide, I remember Sushang's funniest Eidolon picture (E4) which is coincidentally really good with BE playstyle. HarmMC goated for creating a new gameplay method with this one!
this break meta is so dangerous for my account's resource. I've never bothered with building Sushang, Serval, but now they are viabe for funny break build. Would love to try building them but I have to save resource for firefly.
For Xueyi when play with Harmony MC, what’s the better LC between Aeon and Indelible promise sir?
If I don't have 160% BE on Ruan Mei but later in battle will get more from HMC will it make her trace work as with 160% BE and does it work for all other scenarios like this one?

One quick question. I love boothill and I am going to wish for him(maybe his lc as well) and I am f2p. Everyone is talking about how he will get powercrept in the next update by firefly and he isn't worth it. So am I doing a mistake? Or should I just go for him

Speaking of non-gacha options, I feel like the 5 star herta shop nihility light cone may have crazy value taking the break changes into account. Would be curious on if it’s good now or not. I’ve used it on my guinafen for a while because I just haven’t had other good options. Let’s me keep ult rotation while fitting in basic attacks to be SP neutral

I usually stop leveling my charas at level 75 for early game efficiency and it just carries over to today, but now that we’re starting to see break shine I was wondering how much difference does these 5 level gaps make for break damage? Are there calculations for this?
I was really really struggling trying to decide if I buy MIlky Way LC for Pure Fiction or just pulls in the store, Is the light cone worht it if I don't play break meta?

I got curious yesterday. Is solitary healing good for break Luka? Does the dot damage dealt buff affects the dot from breaking an enemy? Has anyone tried that?

Super Break is really exciting. I had flirted with Break playstyle but building HTB was the first time I went all in on it.
HTB hit 130k damage on the Bug boss (on skill with Ruan Mei) and I haven't fully built them yet. It's making me reconsider how to build some of my other supports even though I doubt I'll use HTB in every team it really shows that I've been sleeping on Break effect.
Sampo with Fermata is really good since his skill does hit multiple times. I've been having fun running a team with him, HMC, Ruan Mei, and Huohuo. Also, his DoT is not something to scoff at either with the build. Really make him way more viable with Super Break.

With the E5 HMC (yes, you can E5 them this patch), my half built Xueyi consistently hitting 100k SB plus her own 80k+ dmg lmao

To this day I still have Passkey on my Serval. Girl gets her Ult in her first turn thanks to it!

Im having an issue with MC bc specifically I dont have Ruan Mei or e6 for energy reasons. It would make playing Xueyi 10x easier. I have e4 Xueyi with 370 BE, 149 SPD, and 60/80 crit in battle.
I can lower BE by 50 and SPD by 19 to go for a crit build of 70/133.
I still only do 115k an ult when they are broken. Ruan Mei for Xueyi in particular will be great for me. Keeping them broken longer while also providing me with the toughness efficiency is crazy good.
The only break unit i wouldnt care to have Ruan with would be Boothill since he really doesnt care for her buffs as much as he does MCs. Using them together skyrockets his dmg which i love. I sadly will have to skip dispite him being my most looked forward to unit in the entire game. I was gonna pull but i also wanted e1 Topaz(lost 50/50) and also e4 Xueyi. So now im skipping for Ruan Mei. I have alot of great dps options already so he wont make my account stronger. My Seele is already cracked so i dont mind. 250k an ult and 110k a skill is nice. I just need to get her LC next time.
Harm MC seems like a lot of fun. Too bad I haven't built any break characters. And without RM, the investment doesn't seem worth it...
I wanted to give Harmony MC a 5-star LC for superbig stats, but “Memories of the Past” is so damn perfect for them, and considering they don’t need ATK and can get HP/DEF from relics, the stat difference between 4 and 5 star is basically negligible.
I think the biggest issue I have with break builds is that my best characters for toughness damage are DHIL and Acheron. Given my preferred story setup is “double preservation, abundance, DPS,” for maximum immortality, I’ve kinda overoptimized those two. They keep killing people before I can get use out of super-break.

I wish I had Memories of the Past for my Harmony MC, but sadly, even as a day 1 player it still eludes me. If only they'd put it in the Jade Feather shop.
Incredible how few CC’s have discussed Harmony MC and his/her optimal build. I guess she wasn’t handed to CC’s on a silver platter in the creator server like the other new characters are 😂😂
Slightly offtopic, do you think HMC is worth playing without Ruan Mei, as in good enough anyway, at least with certain other units?
Ruan mei and HMC combo in my opinion cannot be separated. The 50% weakness break efficiency and make the duration of weakness break last longer is no brainer to trigger the super break mechanic as much as possible.
Maybe with boothil
substitute RM for harmony units that allow more actions (Tingyun - ULTs, Asta - Speed Buff, Bronya & Sparkle - AA), it simulates the increased weakness break efficiency of RM. You do have to keep in mind that it is significantly weaker than RM-HMC combo, but it's strong enough to clear comfortably. For Boothill specifically, Luka is a good pairing too, he has tons of toughness damage that helps Boothill shred weakness bars, and Boothill implants physical weakness that Luka can abuse. The cherry on top is that since you're stacking BE, your bleeds from breaking is massive (like about 80-90k lol) and Luka can proc that damage
@@Exodia_99 for xueyi sw can replace mei as she helps break + adds def shred for superbreaks. quantum break can make up a little for mei's weakness delay too.

I love the fact that we have an absolute monster of a character that is even more free and accessible than ratio, he's literally the first character you get and is actually useful for once unlike genshin where you drop him almost instantly after getting other characters.

Something I really like about Break is that HP, ATK & DEF generally have no impact on Break Effect directly; so the stat diff between 5*, 4* and 3* light cones becomes a non-problem for a lot of builds.
You basically can build Tanky Boothill since his damage doesnt matter, only BE.
Gonna nice when that 2.3 4-star LC drops for Break Serval builds.
I love the fact that Harmony mc is so strong the easiest 40k pure fiction run of my life with ruan herta himeko dance dance dance on hmc the enemy basically never get a turn
