- Here is my complete guide to Boothill, our newest limited DPS in Honkai: Star Rail! He is an explosive DPS carry that is unlike anyone so far! He focuses on Break Damage and can even do Break DMG after breaking an enemy already. Great energy regen, SP usage, and a high DMG floor, this guy is a beast! I go through Boothill's best relics, best build, light cones, and more, like Boothill teams with and without Ruan Mei. This is all on the Creator Experience server so things may be subject to change. VIDEO NOTES: - Already seeing a bit of a misunderstanding: HMC is excellent with Boothill, he just doesn't *need* them like any current Break DPS does. And he does just one shot non-elites. For bosses, including his break, talent procs, and break bleed, they will die to a couple of his rotations. So if you want to speed it up, you can always HMC, but Bronya also speeds up your talent proccing by giving 2x the actions :) Running them together sounds RIP for your SP
- Forgot to include E5 for the E6 lol. So 261.8% on ST, 130.9% on Blast???

Seems like none of the major CCs have pointed this out but every time Boothill gets a stack of 'Pocket Trickshot' the 'medals' on his model's chest turn gold. Very nice touch

He is unique as shit in general, I have never seen any other gacha game make a western themed character and I have played quite a few before HSR. You figure it would be a wide open design space for a an anime influenced cowboy but I guess not.
Blows my mind that people think this guy is skippable he is one of the coolest characters in the game.
"I just love how Hoyoverse goes that little extra mile with details..." - Except from that they reuse the same models and locomotion animations for their characters all the time.. Kafka, BS, Acheron, Hanya, Natasha, Yukong and Serval have for example the exact same base Model. Same goes for all the other characters in the game. After noticing this I sadly can't overlook it anymore :/
(like use two of the units mentioned above in the same team, then run sideways and switch between them while running, nothing changes apart from clothes and hairstyle.. Or swap between them in character tab..)

Having worked with blender and unity (3d sclupting, avatar creation, rigging and animation), yes I would kinda expect something like that from a multi billion $ company.
Changing small things in the idle pose, like limb orientation or changing character height, width and so on is really simple actually.
Many other big studios can do it too.

I like that he gets 210 CV which would be insane for other dps but for him its just to flex 😂
it does help a bit with finishing off the first trash mob so it contributes marginally towards his ramp up time granted you end up killing the mob but if you lack the dmg to do so it's just a "trophy" stat

Boothill is hard to powercreep. Self applying phys weakness +high break dmg. Definitely going to pull + good drip + a son of a nice lady

Edit: As with Argenti, I don't use him a ton, but when I need him, boy am I glad I have him, I think Boothill will fall in the same category.

It's probably because of her animations. I didn't even care that Firefly's damage was "mid", it's not like she was doing Arlan levels of damage, I just really hoped they improved her animations. Her using swords during her ult feels unsatisfying, the slashes are boring, but I guess the explosion at the end is pretty cool. Other than that, for an extremely hyped character, she just has a lot of wasted potential. Her normal state may have less animated skills, but they feel much more raw and impactful than her enhanced state. They could've done something similar to her boss animations for her skill or ult, but instead they put it in her technique.

Hey I'm still confused about picking the right LC. Is subscribe for more LC gonna boost his break DMG? Also is this break DMG only triggered when boothill break enemy weakness or whenever the enemy is on weakness broken state like super break harmony MC? Sorry still so confuse about this break meta. Its awesome
So, in summary of his kit
Skill is a single target aggro only to be dispelled if you managed to kill the target or break their weakness. And also enhances his Basic attack from a kick to a gun
His talent/passive has his own "super break" and his final dmg depends on his current stacks of Pocket Trickshot. Also increases his break efficiency. Combine that with Ruan Mei his break efficiency would be at 200% max. Luckily he doesnt need HMC necessarily
Ultimate just gives the target enemy a Physical weakness. Break efficiency also affects by his Talent
And action delay on ult

The fact that they always release these tailor made sets a patch after the character releases is SO annoying. Makes a lot of guides outdated inmediately because CCs are not allowed to talk about leaks. Really lame

Its just not in the multiplier. The damage formula for break / super break dont include ATK% or Element DMG%

Try to get a balance of both if you can. Also if you are using sustains like Aventurine and FX rather than healers, you don't need those stats nearly as much (though they are still useful)

because the wording is a little different, his talent says that it increases his EBA toughness reduction, while ruan mei increases weakness break efficiency. Does it stack multiplicatively or additively??

Gonna play his theme song while pulling him and his LC :) I like Boothill a lot and the LC is honestly extremely good, because it'll likely be good for other units in the future or any hunt you want to build BE on to pair with HMC. Just a very flexible LC overall, at least for BE builds since the conditions can very easily be fulfilled

I'm so conflicted rn on who to pull between this awesome cowboy and firefly/sam. Both are appealing to me since i have ruan mei and i have my guaranteed pity. The one thing that makes me want to pull boothill more than firefly/sam is i only have clara as phys DPS while for fire i have topaz and himeko.

As it stand now, I'd go for Firefly. As of V3 she's an absolute monster.
Don't sleep on Clara, either; her counters do a ton of damage once she's built.
I have the same issue with you. I only have Himeko for fire weak content and Clara for phys, and i want a break dps so i'm currently deciding between Boothill or Firefly... normally i would go with either i like more, but i like them both equally (rip)
Also don't sleep on Clara, hypercarry her with Tingyun, Sustain (Lynx/March for aggro is cool), and RM or Pela for def shred, shes really good

I have a question about his speed. With RM 10% Speed bonus, Bronyas E2, Speed boots and S5 Adversiarial and not counting substats or if I went 2pc messenger, I can practically get more than 180 speed easily... Should I still build speed? Thank you for the cute guides :D
I mean you could hit 201 for 3 turns cycle 0, 2 turns every cycle afterwards (without considering Bronya's advance) pausechamp

Guys, should I be pulling a sustain unit like Fu Xuan or is Boot Hill fine?
For sustain I have Luocha, Gallagher (E1) & recently I got Gepard (unbuilt)
I have all the Harmony units (I just love the designs for them LMAO & realized I have them all)
For DPS I use Jing Liu & Acheron. Sometimes Blade with Jing Liu for double dps core.
So, I can only 3* till MOC 11. I just cant get through MOC 12 still (I am still building all my charas, so there's that.)
I was able to clear PF with Himeko, Herta, Robin core. I really need help with figuring out who would be the best pull for my account.
Maybe another def shredder like Silver Wolf cos Pela is in huge demand, or maybe Kafka to dual dps my Acheron team?? I dont have any other nihility but Pela for her (No Guinaifen). Or perhaps Fu Xuan cos I just wind up dead in MOC 12 (maybe Gepard will help??) or perhaps Boot Hill cos he is SO COOL & I do have Ruan Mei & Bronya E1 😭

Hey guoba! Im currently running the premier DOT team, so that means Ruan Mei is in that party. If I want to make a Boothill teamcomp, should I keep Ruan Mei in the DOT team or put her in the Boothill team? What other unit should I replace Ruan Mei with in the team she is not a part of?
Ruan Mei always with dot teams or don't run them IMO but if I was a boothill enjoyer I probably would not use him without ruan mei either so I'd use a different team in moc instead of dot for the other node I could never go back to Asta after using ruan mei in dot teams lol
Do you have Acheron, Kafka, Black swan, Huohuo? That team would work I've seen some people using it.
@@Krugmatik I don't have Acheron. Pela can work with DOT teams and with Boothill presumably, but I wonder where Ruan Mei is better and what replacements can she have in both teams.
Hey Gouba I'm gonna be running my Boothill with E1 Bronya and Galagher. Which character would be the ideal 4th between HMC and Pela (I don't have RM)

Still have no idea if i pull for that, the fairy robot, the purple support or RM's light cone. Since i can only cover 2 elements and don't have a second support. Decisions decisions. Fire will help me more but that's just another women so...
Just to note that boothills skill and ult apply a demerit to the enemy so it can quickly charge acherons ult. This not even including breaking the enemy with the attack from his basic.
If running 0 sustain it could be fun? otherwise youd lose the multiplicative nihility boost. But yeah Break + Taunt + Ult is a lot of charges ^^

You do need them if you actually want Boothill to be good
i had to take a double take at boothill's talents, i thought they were his eidolons for a second 😭
So a good team for 0 cycling stuff is something along the lines of -1 bronya with robin and RM so he can move 4 times in 0 cycle allowing him to ramp up. I think sustainless is viable for him.

i already pulled him and his LC. im fine building HMC, and my bronya, but i dont have enough resources or allocate too many resources for building gallagher. can i replace him with another sustain character like huo huo (negative sp) or luocha (i prefer this guy tbh to preserve sp for bronya and boothill)?
huohuo is generally sp positive, but yeah go luocha for perma 1 sp / turn
