I personally dislike the inconsistency. No path bias or any way to “force” a strat you feel like playing. Though removing rerolls is a weird decision to me. It’s still fun though.
Honestly the RNG feel much better IMO in Divergent despite having mroe. Its much less about grabbing every blessing from one path and instead rewards you for getting blessing from other paths that have some synergy and changing your team around slightly as you go through. I think working with and around RNG in divergent feels rewarding and possible as opposed to GnG where you can set up the map and create a path then the map just decides to reroll. I have alot more motivation to clear higher difficulty tiers in this mode where I feel I actually need to think and craft builds as I go through as opposed to GnG where it feels like my run is just straight rng since I can't work with or around it. On a side note "weighted" curios don't feel weighted at all, most runs they offer 3 curios that are useless for my current team.
I dislike how overly random the new mode is. If this gets expanded hopefully we can start getting path weight and banning paths like we do in regular universe. The get 16 blessings unlock is basically impossible without the Ruan Mei event.
even RM has 3 variants now, so getting one won't mean free wins unlike GnG 1. all blessings of 1 path + 2k money 2. upgrade all blessings on hand + 10 random curios 3. IIRC 3 3* equation + random blessings to complete those equations
the one thing I disliked the most is them getting rid of the reroll mechanic, getting random blessings that has no use for either your equation or playstle is just annoying, I know you can somewhat "reroll" in the cat bench pre-boss battles but what you're rerolling is still random from ALL available paths, and unlike regular SU you don't have a weighted buff that increases the chance of certain path blessings to show, the only way to get weighted buff is to get the waxes which are also RNG
Same dude. The amount of timed my equation being 7/8 5/5 in the last boss area is straight up INFURIATING. Even if you try to roll blessing in the cat thingi they are so rng to the point where you could spend 1000 yet still not get the blessing of the path you want.
Spoiler about a particularly new occurrence: Ruan Mei Part 3 appears in reward domains, not occurrence domains I am pretty sure. I've gone through hundreds of occurrence domains and didn't see it, but the first reward domain I entered gave me the ruan mei occurrence. What it does is you can either choose to get all the blessings needed to activate the equations you have in your hand, or you can choose to get a 3-star equation and then all the blessings required to activate that equation in particular. Of course, if you have Ruan Mei, you can have both. Edit: Okay so I actually came across Ruan Mei pt2 in an occurrence domain. So maybe they can appear in both, and I just got insanely lucky.

@@dunglvht If you unlock the ability for path Resonance, the Elation resonance attack in DU makes all attacks count as follow ups for 3 turns. Technically better, but does require some skill tree unlocks.
I think I'm among those who prefer GnG and Swarm more. GnG is very fun. Swarm is challenging but fun. But Divergent Universe for me is unnecessarily too much RNG
I prefer them too by far. I see this as a different base SU, where the expansions (SD, GNG) are the real juicy fun modes ^^ Hope they keep on expanding with Swarm / GNG type modes!
The new SU blatantly encourages going wide with your roster pulls to make sure you can adjust your lineup to match the buffs you get. It's inverted from the way prior SimUs have worked and makes sense from an incentives perspective for Hoyo.
@@tivaen As an SU hater due to exactly the "pick path, take every blessing of that path" meta, you're pretty much exactly right. While I dislike SU this just has the same issue in a different way. Instead of "pick path, get blessings" it's "get equation, change team, get blessings". It doesn't feel different in a meaningful way, and at least in SU I could pop on an Acheron team, build for it, and skip the trash encounters while having an effective team. Now I have to either have this Acheron that does nothing on my team or constantly switch her in and out. The Planar grind being so much easier is very welcome, but I'm honestly expecting to have even less fun doing my weekly SU point grind in DU than I did in SU - if not for the 80 reward track I might just keep doing it in SU.
GnG is more fun, but takes so long for a single run. While DU is pretty fast, because you can just spam reward and occurence domain. Both gaves max point when completed so I can just do normal SU every 3 weeks
Rupert Curio is definitely this Sim-U version of the company time strat, lot of RNG rerolls but once its yours the run is almost guaranteed to be a clear regardless of what team you want to run.
Dont know. I dedicated 7 runs in a row solely to get this and never get all 3. And the singular Rupert Curios basically ruined multiple runs for me. To me its rng to a not even funny degree.
I think that on base difficulty it's great. You're able to swap teams depending on the blessing you get, and it's a cool gimmick. However, on levels 1-6 that is just literally not feasible. Enemies have way too much health and damage, to the point where you need specific blessings or equations to do *any* damage. A vast majority of the equations are just straight up terrible. From my experience the only good equations/blessings have been Nihility, sometimes some of the Erudition stuff if you get really lucky, and anything break related. Literally a vast majority of them are bad. If you don't have certain characters for the equations you are getting, then it's just a reset. Often, I just reset at the beginning anyway until I get something that isn't completely useless like an Abundance equation. I wish we could at least pick our starting equation and which random path blessings we get at the start. Ultimately I feel like it is a complete coin toss and your decisions have little to no effect on your run. If you keep getting shitty equations you lose, and that's that. GnG and swarm were like this too imo, except in GnG/Swarm it was "pick a strategy and if bad rng, reset" in DU it's "you're given a strategy and if bad rng, reset". It's effectively the same. It's very frustrating that Hoyo doesn't seem to be able to effectively balance these sim uni game modes, because there is so much potential. I have played a lot of roguelikes, at least in particular Risk Of Rain 2. In RoR2 you are definitely limited by luck to an extent, but you have many means to mitigate and strategize around your luck. You have a shop with a currency that is saved between runs that allows you to purchase very strong items, there is a pickup that allows you to reroll items into another one of the same tier, there are multiple side challenges in each level that give bonus rewards if you can do them. There are item printers that will have a specific item, when you interact with them they take a random item of the same rarity from you and print out that item. You can also find item scrappers that allow you to choose items to turn into scrap that will be consumed on printers first so you don't lose your good items. All of these functions mitigate RNG through strategy or calculated risks, to the point where you can get a very high win rate simply through game knowledge alone. Sim Uni has nothing like this really, the most you get is gambling in some occurence domains. There is no real strategizing or skill ceiling, it's just a complete roll of the dice. You either are dealing no damage and dying, or you insta kill everything and are invincible. There is no in between, and it just doesn't feel good. Feeling like you have no agency, and your personal skills/knowledge have no real meaning, just isn't fun to me.
I just wish you could turn off mapping for certain character, just because one of my relics isn't +15, they changed the whole relics set for me which is crazy af.
Saaaame, had to level up crit rate body piece on e1s1 boothill because it swapped my relics to ones with 200BE total and without 145 speed instead of my 290BE total and 145 spd. Like, what the fudge? And then because I had DHIL's hat at lvl 12, it swapped everything too so I went from 3.3k atk 72/150 crits to 2600 atk and sth like 50/80 crits.... On Gallagher it unequipped ERR rope....
I've been 2 days making runs and im still on protocol 4... The Du is 1000% dependant on rng, if you don't get a perfect run, im sorry, gotta restart, out from the suffering, it's cool
Its because of team comp and equation compatibility. Not using the break meta team comp of firefly makes it hard and rng depended. Try not running it on non break team comp and see it how hard it is.
Boothill Stonks went through the roof with DU. Really love the mode, sadly SAM killed my Protocol 5 runs multiple times by now...I will have my revenge! Great video as always, surely Guobllum will appear one day
Yeah running Boothill/Bronya/Aventurine/Ruan Mei is great in DU. I even got through Protocol 5 with Boothill versus SAM. With the Equations I got, I finished Sam off with 1.3 million Dissociation+Bleed damage lmao. Couldn't believe my eyes. However, I had to do Protocol 4 with Kafka/Swan against because of the rolls for that run. This game mode really does encourage you to flex your roster for the blessings you have.
Boothill has always been strong, having the highest toughness reduction. He was just overshadowed with "skipping for Firefly" and HsR CCs covering Wuwa during his banner. Before anyone assumes anything, I have e2s1 FF and e0s0 BH on separate accounts.
To be completely honest, I really needed this guide video, lol. This is the first time I've been overwhelmed by a gamemode, since there's a looot of new things on top of revamped blessings. Thanks for the video as always, Guoba! :D
A good note is that light cones can be flexible with the trial units. Like if you want to not use the medicore destruction lc they give you, you can switch it out, and it'll always be leveled up to 80. Like if want to give trial Arlan Blade's LC for some reason
I kinda hate that there's no reroll for anything until just before the bosses (and pray you get something beneficial until you don't have any fragments left). Although I did finish V6 because "I got lucky" with my equations.

Acheron works too i guess, but i haven't been able to get good erudition equations, so I didn't use her much on bosses Kinda like when Swarm released with Fu Xuan and Dan Heng, there are a lot of enemies weak to certain types, in this case fire and imaginary

Definitely my least favorite of all the simulated universe variants. Feels the least strategic, the abundance of choice just over centralizes a few options way more with blessings you get literally every run.
One thing I greatly dislike is that while the idea of changing characters according to blessings sounds fun, the actual experience of the DU on protocol 5/6 is a random set of blessings that barely synergize (you can’t get the ones you need because the reset function is basically spend fragments to exchange one trash for another trash), 3/4 of equations and weighted relics are so niche they are triggered like once a fight (if you’re lucky), and as a cherry on top the boss you rolled is literally made as a counter to the playstyle you chose. Also the “ideal team” for the stuff you rolled literally doesn’t exist yet. Also SW and RM are needed 100% bc of the break meta. Yes, my rng was awful and now I’m being petty on the Internet. I miss bannable paths and blessing rerolls so much. I also miss the increased chance for blessings of the specific path you choose at the start. Didn’t realize just how impactful those things were until we were robbed of them 😢 On the funny side, my current best team for DU is 1.0 built Yanqing, Gepard, Pela + RM + that one remembrance blessing with ice weakness implant. Firefly who? As of now, I see DU as “great idea, questionable execution”. Going to wait for cheese tactics invented by the community 🤓🤓
This. I personally have not been able to clear D6 as I don't have Firefly or Aventurine. E2 Dhil has failed me so far because they just can't compare to the Break/Destruction blessings and equations. Also, spending 40 minutes getting a perfect run, getting to the final boss and it being completely counter to your entire setup. Feels painful.
I keep running into the Aventurine boss with my IL team. In theory, I’m supposed to change to a non-img dps. But there is non-img dps that wants the same combo of blessings he does.
I actually like it less than the old universes. Too much rng, no rerolls and very heavy incentive to pull for Firefly since on higher difficulties enemies receive much less dmg when not broken.
@@DurpDaDerp Are we free, though? Already, there is no SU world 10. In order to farm the new planar sets, you MUST do it through divergent universe. They’re phasing out SU.
You can literally reroll everything in this mode tho, every boss allows you to reroll equations and blessings, escapade allows you to reroll curios. This mode also has a ton of break efficiency buffs so I don’t rly see the problem. This was the quickest SU for me to clear completely.
As a player whos spent a lot of time with SU and its harder modes, i actually dont like DU too much so far. I like the weighted curios, those are fun. And most of the reworked blessing effects are good changes But man, are a good 50% or more of the equations just bad and not worth the investment.of going for them. Many of them dont work well together, and without the resonances of old, some playstyles like DoT feel absolutely neutered. Boundary resonsnces exist, but ive talked to a lot of players whove basically maxed this mode alreadh and have never once got enough to activate them
DoT teams really feel awful without Nihility Resonance and GnG buffs. New Self-Negation debuff thing is stacking too slow and doesn't provide enough damage. Tried to clear v6 with them, had to switch to Xueyi break comp.
@@SelikBzdydot team in v6 can definitely win, not even needing 3* rubert but it's quite hard i usually get to plane 3 then get bent over by cirrus because self-negation doesn't really work against him
@@inyourwalls-q6p I tried several times but without breaking the bar dots just don't do meaningful damage. And there are a lot of bosses without required weaknesses. If you get Argenti, Aventurine, Cirrus or Swarm, you can just restart. In previous SUs I just used Kafka+RM+two sustainers on the highest difficulties and they cleared just fine. Here I have to use at least two DoT characters, otherwise Suspicion will stack too slowly, which leaves out one of sustainers or RM which is very bad.

I’m so happy they’re expanding SU and creating new end game modes. I’m tired of genshin’s Abyss formula, and sadly WuWa’s Tower of adversity is the same thing. So HSR’s end game feels amazing!
I'm hoping wuwa has more in store since they're just a month old. Even hsr just have moc for first few months until argenti release. It's such a waste of an incredible battle system for just the ToA
@@izzme5204 I feel like vanilla SU harder difficulties and worlds were pretty rough for the first couple of months while everybody was low level. Imo it played like an end game content at the time, but yeah Swarm was the real moment it truly became one.

As for WuWA, I’m simply tired of the Abyss formula, so I hope they don’t push it too much on us for rewards. That’s all. The Suzume event was beyond great, so already I know nicer things are bound to happen.
Tbh, I’m glad that they changed the find requirements: instead of having to finding 100% of everything, u just need to find around 80% of them. I personally 97% all the rewards of divergent universe already due to that, (finished the conundrum 6, and 80% of the skill tree.) haven’t yet done the 8+ equation, or the having no lvled equation quests yet, so I’m going to be working on that. Gl to anyone trying conundrum 6! It’s fudging hard, and it took me 30 attempts due to rng, and losing runs due to occurances kill me, (the fudging big stings..) and the equations constantly being bad, and needing cosmic fragments to either reroll, or lvl up blessings. (Which never fudging work ;-; ) Personally, I rec using heat and lvling your 1star blessings, and if possible, choose equation as close to your path, because that could be the make or break. (Lvl some 3 star, especially if they massively buff your team, but 2star and 1 stars are the main MVP due to their commonality.) If your running firefly teams, the 1 star destruction, nihility, erudition, abundance, vesicle from propogation, and the one star preservation, are all good for her, with some like flicker and reflection from destruction possibly being a make or break. and the 3 are hunt (don’t lvl.) are also good to bring up turn action. Gl with the divergent universe, and have a fun time!
The only thing I don’t like is how hyper specific the weighted curios are, only applying to 1 maybe 2 characters. Also there is an event that gives you two out of the three Rupert curios so that’s an easy way to get them if your lucky although I think it has the same rarity as rm event as I have only seen it once over the course of 50 runs.
Honestly I really like that they let you use characters you haven't built. Like.. yeah, the generated build isn't gonna be amazing, but it's nice to try out something new. And with the right blessings, anything can work, so I'm happy.
I like that it let's me run characters I haven't built yet at "max", So I can actually run different team comps without having to grind to level characters up to use them.
As much as I adore Firefly, I just hate how much this relies on rng and break. I wish break characters have their own blessing of a new path since it doesn't change the old blessing there just a new blessing for the new character. I much prefer gold and gear. I found the gameplay of that very interesting. Great guide since I was confused since I just want to lvl up my Firefly
No other destruction character besides maybe Blade even got anything from Destruction path anyway. Jingliu could never get the buffs because she only drained ally HP and not her own, Clara can't survive without a healer and so would constantly be jumping between 1 turn of buffs and 2-3 turns of nothing, Daniel has no HP mechanics, Xueyi does everything _except_ HP drain, etc. They were all better off with Hunt.
Too much rng for me, I've lost almost every wealth domain or had only nevative effects from my runs. Hopefully there'll be some changes like adding regular blessing rerolls or something.
The main thing i hate witht his mode, is that the Arithmetic Mapping feature cant be tured off and it will fck up your units builds. Like what were they thinking? Why cant it be turned off?
Save your sanity and do not attempt Protocol 5+ and above on Divergent universe. They did say it is still in its early trial and many are unpolished. You're at the mercy of pure RNG. You can still get most of your rewards doing regular V Protocol 0.
"You're at the mercy of pure RNG." So it's the same as SU Conundrums where you either do Remembrance cheese and hope the enemy doesn't resist every freeze or give you freeze immune enemies or you get lucky with capitalism else reset constantly.
@@Cr3zant In DU, there's no "high chance of this certain path blessing to appear". You can't choose your playstyle, you're stuck with awful equations and blessings that you can only refresh before main bosses and it gets very expensive. From SU to G&G, you can at least block certain blessings from appearing. Like for example, if you don't get the 3 star nihility suspicion buff, all 2 stars nihility blessing that buff suspicion won't ever appear. In DU, every blessings has an equal chance of appearing. Making it difficult to snipe powerful blessings from each paths.
@@victorpresti Are you sure you didn't do the weekly Cyclical DU instead? Because that one gives you gold equation at the start and 4 path blessings with 2 guaranteed 3 star blessings that goes with the path.
The auto-build option needs to be, well, an OPTION. Goodness forbid you have one +14 relic on a character then the whole build gets replaced with random (and terrible) stats, like minus 40 speed. You have no choice but to spend resources and level relics that may not even be worth it if you want any control at all over your stats and speed rotations. FeelsBadMan when you spend months farming and the the game is just like "nah, you can't"
I really like this more than gold and gears, in GnG it takes forever to reach the last boss and some rando elite can drop kick you out mid way. I also don't like the missions of needing to clear GnG with every path because I don't play dot and I don't have a sustain that gives shields so it's too difficult to achieve that for me. The most difficult thing for me in this new mode was the mission of "clearing difficulty 4 or above while having 4090 fragments". The Rng is kinda annoying but it's good that you get to reroll blessings. One thing I would say is they need to add more weighted curios, the current ones are way too specific and sometimes useless on some teams. Overall I think it's good (already at lvl 42, cleared all difficulties and got all the rewards from collectables and missions, no I am not addicted at all I swear )
For some reason i cant access simulated universe anymore? I’m level 58 and recently unlocked divergent universe and tbh i prefer simulated. I’m pretty confused.
I don't like how this new DU relies on equations, they do damage not the characters, and it caters more to break team how insanely tanky bosses are without breaking it, it even says they take less dmg while having toughness. I didn't have fun while clearing difficult 6 and will never do that again. Gold and gears is still goated, although i do like that you can swap to any character.

Divergent Universe is some of the biggest fun I've had on HSR in a while. It also feels way less tedious to grind than Swarm or Gear. Currently trying to complete my curios list
Bro it's just two 3* light cones anyway. Don't sweat it. You will realistically never be in a situation where 2 pulls is crucial to you. Absolute worst case scenario you spend 5 bucks on an immediate top-up. Are hours of your time worth just 5 bucks? Doubt it.
I think it’s pretty reasonable to do thresholds 1 and 2. Even 3 is approachable for most players, I feel. Threshold 4+ is when things get stupid. So only 180 jades are locked behind the absurd stuff. Just over 1 single pull (AKA 3 days worth of dailies)
@@zaxtonhong3958 People will realistically lose more pulls from not being able to 3* the last part of MoC or PF due to not having Kafka/Acheron than they will from not doing Thresholds.
I thought we finally have something that catered to break dps, but sadly not so much. Sure there equations and blessings(mostly 1 star) that benefit super/break but to get the equation, destruction/nihility/hunt have too much non break beneficial blessings to unlock the equation in the first place. I hope they make a new path entirely fro break dps
Do you know which equation gives the Ultimate = follow up? It's no longer an Elation blessing. I have seen a Crit DMG = follow, but that's the closest i've seen.
It's pretty great, I have grinded all the way to syn level 32. Being able to play with characters I haven't leveled is great. Less tedious and annoying to level than the other two sim universe. And since you mentioned housing, the only housing I want is the room I was promised by March when we joined the Express.
I hate the new mechanic where they force trial characters on you if your relics aren't fully leveled. Like I don't need to level my Pelas arms to 15 and I definitely don't want you to replace her with a terrible DPS set. I had to waste all my upgrade mats on my characters that were perfectly fine just to keep the builds I've worked so hard for
One of the best things I love in this game mode is the ability to freely switch units from the get-go + the auto level sync of underlevelled characters. In my case, I have Harmony Caelus + Gallagher + Ruan Mei + (adjusted) Firefly. But when I face mob units, I just swap out Firefly to Acheron to one-shot them, and them back to Firefly afterwards.
I used to be chill with screwllum Until he made this monstrosity He took away our auspicious star and melancholia He gated our cat’s cradle and hell is other people behind rare curios and only for some paths He gutted our celestial annihilation, macrosegregation, and sanctuary He made elites take like no damage unless broken He made the final boss random. In swarm/regular SU, we plan to fight 1 possible boss. In GnG, we plan to fight 1 or 2 possibilities. In DU, we need to plan to fight 4 possible end bosses
Honestly, the last bit is the only real "dealbreaker". You get way more blessings and other bonuses through a run, even if much of it is RNG-reliant (especially the Weighted Curios, that can make or break a run), but it just feels cheap when you think you have a solid build by the end of the run, only to face a boss that just happens to counter your team, and you have to either restart, or resolve yourself to a half-hour long grind while praying for RNGesus for a break.
This new mode is super exciting, but I am not looking forward to higher Thresholds if it's anything like Conundrum before. I'll never understand how people can solo Conundrum 12, when even with the best loadouts I can think of, I can't even beat Conundrum 4. Guoba, can you recommend any creators who have comprehensive and digestible guides for Conundrum in Gold & Gears? I'd love to finally be done with that mode, so I can focus on the new one.
I can't remember the name of it but i got a Curio that randomized my Equations ever time i entered a new domain that pretty much got me all them for the gallery
there are two benchmarks for your team when running V6 Divergent Universe: if you can't overflow the first two bosses' bonus stage, you're probably going to lose to the final boss
Any way you can do a guide on swarm and gold&gears too? I just don’t really understand those and because of that, I haven’t really challenged them. I know Im missing tons of rewards from those two alone
I cleared up to Threshold 4 in about two days before I decided that was enough for the week. Although I tried using some alternative teams, I ended up doing most of those runs with my (E1) Firefly team, and in several cases being one blessing short of completing my 3* equation. E1 Firefly + the two 3* hunt blessings that 100% action advance basically let Firefly chew through most of the boss fights, even with their inflated HP. I anticipate T5 and T6 will be harder, but it's surprising how far the team can go on brute force strength alone. And, of course, for picking up jades on difficulty 4, the team can just rush straight to the end ignoring whatever the blessings, equations, and negative curios are.

And I was only at synchronicity level 26 lol, got quite lucky with a certain 3-star curio that both made me deal more damage and have more HP, v6 clear was extremely comfortable, way more than my v4 and v5 clears.
I hate this, it’s so much rng and not even the fun kind. Both Swarm and GnG while hard were much more fun. The devs burnt the kitchen with how much bullshit this is with all the rng, no bannable paths, making rerolling blessings more and more expensive. They also fucking gutted the good blessings and made the final boss all rng. Give me back my survival destruction path and just make a new path catered to break ffs Not to mention how there is no way to get path resonance until you get 16 blessings which is frankly impossible. They literally got rid of every good QOL Swarm, GnG had in favor of this mid bullshit the devs made.

Honestly once DU gets a expansion mode like SD or GnG it would be really fun. I feel like at the moment it has a lot more strategy to it then normal SU but theres a LOT of rng in it without much way of manipulating it
I had not noticed the saves being reset weekly! A shame. I had a sick one with like a dozen equations unlocked including a boundary thanks to a lucky early relic and meeting Ruan Mei, making one sick save file.
is there any reward for clearing higher protocol except for first time? I mean, we have a reset every week for cyclical, so any reward for clearing with higher protocol? or just clear with 0 protocol 1 time and done because there is no more reward other than that for each week
I really dislike this new mode. It is way too rng heavy, I genuinely feel like I have no control over anything in this mode, this is especially detrimental at higher difficulty.
Normal Su you pick blessing to fit your team. Dsu you have to pick the team to fit the equation. But despite that, in this moment, dsu very lean on break.
realy hate this mode, the blessings arent easy to get nor reset and whej the path u commited to just doesn't work against the boss that's rng ur run just fucking fails also half the buffs dont work well for most units im stuck on protocol 6
I never got used to the dice faces and other stuff about G&G, felt too confusing for my adhd brain to keep track of. Divergent universe is awesome though, I'm having so much more fun with it. Like, to the point of noticeably less sleep this week.
I really enjoy the new DU and planars extraction is such great QoL! Sadly we have no achievements so far. Firefly is too strong for this 😂 Threshold 4 and no problems till now, good or bad RNG.
I def prefer GnG/Swarm over this mode, although the added planar farm convenience is a definite plus, so I still consider it a win. But it felt.. too easy? Maybe because I have really .. expensive(?)/well-built teams.. but I went in with an E0S0 Firefly team, and used Aventurine for sustain and one shot the level 6 difficulty with ease... also got my FF to E2S1 in the meantime and it's kind of a snooze fest now. But it's still fun, overall I still prefer SU stuff as my go-to game mode. Still trying to get 100% on the collections, even though I have all the required thresholds to get the rewards.
Its very cool this new mode but i think the moc, purefic and apocalyptic shadows have a lot of time of reset in general, should be one of this modes per week i think (okay with less rewards).
Guys, can you help me out pls? I haven't yet done the lore to get to divergent universe normally, and the screen there says that if I activate it early some missions in story may change. I am kinda scared by that, so can anybody tell me what are those changes?

I personally dislike the inconsistency. No path bias or any way to “force” a strat you feel like playing. Though removing rerolls is a weird decision to me. It’s still fun though.
Honestly the RNG feel much better IMO in Divergent despite having mroe. Its much less about grabbing every blessing from one path and instead rewards you for getting blessing from other paths that have some synergy and changing your team around slightly as you go through. I think working with and around RNG in divergent feels rewarding and possible as opposed to GnG where you can set up the map and create a path then the map just decides to reroll. I have alot more motivation to clear higher difficulty tiers in this mode where I feel I actually need to think and craft builds as I go through as opposed to GnG where it feels like my run is just straight rng since I can't work with or around it. On a side note "weighted" curios don't feel weighted at all, most runs they offer 3 curios that are useless for my current team.

I dislike how overly random the new mode is. If this gets expanded hopefully we can start getting path weight and banning paths like we do in regular universe. The get 16 blessings unlock is basically impossible without the Ruan Mei event.
even RM has 3 variants now, so getting one won't mean free wins unlike GnG
1. all blessings of 1 path + 2k money
2. upgrade all blessings on hand + 10 random curios
3. IIRC 3 3* equation + random blessings to complete those equations
the one thing I disliked the most is them getting rid of the reroll mechanic, getting random blessings that has no use for either your equation or playstle is just annoying, I know you can somewhat "reroll" in the cat bench pre-boss battles but what you're rerolling is still random from ALL available paths, and unlike regular SU you don't have a weighted buff that increases the chance of certain path blessings to show, the only way to get weighted buff is to get the waxes which are also RNG

Even if you try to roll blessing in the cat thingi they are so rng to the point where you could spend 1000 yet still not get the blessing of the path you want.

Spoiler about a particularly new occurrence:
Ruan Mei Part 3 appears in reward domains, not occurrence domains I am pretty sure. I've gone through hundreds of occurrence domains and didn't see it, but the first reward domain I entered gave me the ruan mei occurrence. What it does is you can either choose to get all the blessings needed to activate the equations you have in your hand, or you can choose to get a 3-star equation and then all the blessings required to activate that equation in particular. Of course, if you have Ruan Mei, you can have both.
Edit: Okay so I actually came across Ruan Mei pt2 in an occurrence domain. So maybe they can appear in both, and I just got insanely lucky.
Ruan Mei doesn't even need to be in your team for all rewards, you just need to have her.

@@dunglvht If you unlock the ability for path Resonance, the Elation resonance attack in DU makes all attacks count as follow ups for 3 turns. Technically better, but does require some skill tree unlocks.
I think I'm among those who prefer GnG and Swarm more. GnG is very fun. Swarm is challenging but fun. But Divergent Universe for me is unnecessarily too much RNG
I prefer them too by far. I see this as a different base SU, where the expansions (SD, GNG) are the real juicy fun modes ^^ Hope they keep on expanding with Swarm / GNG type modes!
The new SU blatantly encourages going wide with your roster pulls to make sure you can adjust your lineup to match the buffs you get. It's inverted from the way prior SimUs have worked and makes sense from an incentives perspective for Hoyo.

@@tivaen As an SU hater due to exactly the "pick path, take every blessing of that path" meta, you're pretty much exactly right. While I dislike SU this just has the same issue in a different way. Instead of "pick path, get blessings" it's "get equation, change team, get blessings". It doesn't feel different in a meaningful way, and at least in SU I could pop on an Acheron team, build for it, and skip the trash encounters while having an effective team. Now I have to either have this Acheron that does nothing on my team or constantly switch her in and out. The Planar grind being so much easier is very welcome, but I'm honestly expecting to have even less fun doing my weekly SU point grind in DU than I did in SU - if not for the 80 reward track I might just keep doing it in SU.
GnG is more fun, but takes so long for a single run. While DU is pretty fast, because you can just spam reward and occurence domain. Both gaves max point when completed so I can just do normal SU every 3 weeks
Rupert Curio is definitely this Sim-U version of the company time strat, lot of RNG rerolls but once its yours the run is almost guaranteed to be a clear regardless of what team you want to run.
Dont know. I dedicated 7 runs in a row solely to get this and never get all 3. And the singular Rupert Curios basically ruined multiple runs for me. To me its rng to a not even funny degree.

I think that on base difficulty it's great. You're able to swap teams depending on the blessing you get, and it's a cool gimmick. However, on levels 1-6 that is just literally not feasible. Enemies have way too much health and damage, to the point where you need specific blessings or equations to do *any* damage. A vast majority of the equations are just straight up terrible. From my experience the only good equations/blessings have been Nihility, sometimes some of the Erudition stuff if you get really lucky, and anything break related. Literally a vast majority of them are bad. If you don't have certain characters for the equations you are getting, then it's just a reset. Often, I just reset at the beginning anyway until I get something that isn't completely useless like an Abundance equation. I wish we could at least pick our starting equation and which random path blessings we get at the start.
Ultimately I feel like it is a complete coin toss and your decisions have little to no effect on your run. If you keep getting shitty equations you lose, and that's that. GnG and swarm were like this too imo, except in GnG/Swarm it was "pick a strategy and if bad rng, reset" in DU it's "you're given a strategy and if bad rng, reset". It's effectively the same. It's very frustrating that Hoyo doesn't seem to be able to effectively balance these sim uni game modes, because there is so much potential.
I have played a lot of roguelikes, at least in particular Risk Of Rain 2. In RoR2 you are definitely limited by luck to an extent, but you have many means to mitigate and strategize around your luck. You have a shop with a currency that is saved between runs that allows you to purchase very strong items, there is a pickup that allows you to reroll items into another one of the same tier, there are multiple side challenges in each level that give bonus rewards if you can do them. There are item printers that will have a specific item, when you interact with them they take a random item of the same rarity from you and print out that item. You can also find item scrappers that allow you to choose items to turn into scrap that will be consumed on printers first so you don't lose your good items.
All of these functions mitigate RNG through strategy or calculated risks, to the point where you can get a very high win rate simply through game knowledge alone. Sim Uni has nothing like this really, the most you get is gambling in some occurence domains. There is no real strategizing or skill ceiling, it's just a complete roll of the dice. You either are dealing no damage and dying, or you insta kill everything and are invincible. There is no in between, and it just doesn't feel good. Feeling like you have no agency, and your personal skills/knowledge have no real meaning, just isn't fun to me.

I just wish you could turn off mapping for certain character, just because one of my relics isn't +15, they changed the whole relics set for me which is crazy af.
Saaaame, had to level up crit rate body piece on e1s1 boothill because it swapped my relics to ones with 200BE total and without 145 speed instead of my 290BE total and 145 spd. Like, what the fudge? And then because I had DHIL's hat at lvl 12, it swapped everything too so I went from 3.3k atk 72/150 crits to 2600 atk and sth like 50/80 crits.... On Gallagher it unequipped ERR rope....
I wish you could also use that mapping for planar extraction

It's more a case of depending how weak your characters are, you'll need more RNG. I beat every difficulty, up to 6, in one try each.

Its because of team comp and equation compatibility. Not using the break meta team comp of firefly makes it hard and rng depended. Try not running it on non break team comp and see it how hard it is.

Yeah running Boothill/Bronya/Aventurine/Ruan Mei is great in DU. I even got through Protocol 5 with Boothill versus SAM. With the Equations I got, I finished Sam off with 1.3 million Dissociation+Bleed damage lmao. Couldn't believe my eyes.
However, I had to do Protocol 4 with Kafka/Swan against because of the rolls for that run. This game mode really does encourage you to flex your roster for the blessings you have.
Boothill has always been strong, having the highest toughness reduction. He was just overshadowed with "skipping for Firefly" and HsR CCs covering Wuwa during his banner.

A good note is that light cones can be flexible with the trial units. Like if you want to not use the medicore destruction lc they give you, you can switch it out, and it'll always be leveled up to 80. Like if want to give trial Arlan Blade's LC for some reason
I kinda hate that there's no reroll for anything until just before the bosses (and pray you get something beneficial until you don't have any fragments left). Although I did finish V6 because "I got lucky" with my equations.
Maybe future expansions will fix some problems we have ^^

Definitely my least favorite of all the simulated universe variants. Feels the least strategic, the abundance of choice just over centralizes a few options way more with blessings you get literally every run.
One thing I greatly dislike is that while the idea of changing characters according to blessings sounds fun, the actual experience of the DU on protocol 5/6 is a random set of blessings that barely synergize (you can’t get the ones you need because the reset function is basically spend fragments to exchange one trash for another trash), 3/4 of equations and weighted relics are so niche they are triggered like once a fight (if you’re lucky), and as a cherry on top the boss you rolled is literally made as a counter to the playstyle you chose. Also the “ideal team” for the stuff you rolled literally doesn’t exist yet. Also SW and RM are needed 100% bc of the break meta. Yes, my rng was awful and now I’m being petty on the Internet. I miss bannable paths and blessing rerolls so much. I also miss the increased chance for blessings of the specific path you choose at the start. Didn’t realize just how impactful those things were until we were robbed of them 😢
On the funny side, my current best team for DU is 1.0 built Yanqing, Gepard, Pela + RM + that one remembrance blessing with ice weakness implant. Firefly who?

I personally have not been able to clear D6 as I don't have Firefly or Aventurine. E2 Dhil has failed me so far because they just can't compare to the Break/Destruction blessings and equations. Also, spending 40 minutes getting a perfect run, getting to the final boss and it being completely counter to your entire setup. Feels painful.

I actually like it less than the old universes. Too much rng, no rerolls and very heavy incentive to pull for Firefly since on higher difficulties enemies receive much less dmg when not broken.

Are we free, though? Already, there is no SU world 10. In order to farm the new planar sets, you MUST do it through divergent universe. They’re phasing out SU.
You can literally reroll everything in this mode tho, every boss allows you to reroll equations and blessings, escapade allows you to reroll curios. This mode also has a ton of break efficiency buffs so I don’t rly see the problem. This was the quickest SU for me to clear completely.
Protocol v5/6 is ridiculously hard as hell. The enemies are super tanky and even my E6 Archeron is hitting like the wet noodle against them.
As a player whos spent a lot of time with SU and its harder modes, i actually dont like DU too much so far.
I like the weighted curios, those are fun. And most of the reworked blessing effects are good changes
But man, are a good 50% or more of the equations just bad and not worth the investment.of going for them. Many of them dont work well together, and without the resonances of old, some playstyles like DoT feel absolutely neutered. Boundary resonsnces exist, but ive talked to a lot of players whove basically maxed this mode alreadh and have never once got enough to activate them
DoT teams really feel awful without Nihility Resonance and GnG buffs. New Self-Negation debuff thing is stacking too slow and doesn't provide enough damage. Tried to clear v6 with them, had to switch to Xueyi break comp.
@@SelikBzdydot team in v6 can definitely win, not even needing 3* rubert but it's quite hard i usually get to plane 3 then get bent over by cirrus because self-negation doesn't really work against him
@@inyourwalls-q6p I tried several times but without breaking the bar dots just don't do meaningful damage. And there are a lot of bosses without required weaknesses. If you get Argenti, Aventurine, Cirrus or Swarm, you can just restart.
In previous SUs I just used Kafka+RM+two sustainers on the highest difficulties and they cleared just fine. Here I have to use at least two DoT characters, otherwise Suspicion will stack too slowly, which leaves out one of sustainers or RM which is very bad.
@@SelikBzdy makes sense, double sustain is always nice to use in general, but i love having my characters one shotted by the enemy through no fault of my own🤤

@@izzme5204 I feel like vanilla SU harder difficulties and worlds were pretty rough for the first couple of months while everybody was low level. Imo it played like an end game content at the time, but yeah Swarm was the real moment it truly became one.
@@RavenShugo Chill out man. There’s no negativity toward WuWa. I love the game very much. We’re on an HSR video, so I said that I was happy with HSR’s development. As for WuWA, I’m simply tired of the Abyss formula, so I hope they don’t push it too much on us for rewards. That’s all. The Suzume event was beyond great, so already I know nicer things are bound to happen.
Tbh, I’m glad that they changed the find requirements: instead of having to finding 100% of everything, u just need to find around 80% of them.
I personally 97% all the rewards of divergent universe already due to that, (finished the conundrum 6, and 80% of the skill tree.) haven’t yet done the 8+ equation, or the having no lvled equation quests yet, so I’m going to be working on that.
Gl to anyone trying conundrum 6! It’s fudging hard, and it took me 30 attempts due to rng, and losing runs due to occurances kill me, (the fudging big stings..) and the equations constantly being bad, and needing cosmic fragments to either reroll, or lvl up blessings. (Which never fudging work ;-; )
Personally, I rec using heat and lvling your 1star blessings, and if possible, choose equation as close to your path, because that could be the make or break. (Lvl some 3 star, especially if they massively buff your team, but 2star and 1 stars are the main MVP due to their commonality.)
If your running firefly teams, the 1 star destruction, nihility, erudition, abundance, vesicle from propogation, and the one star preservation, are all good for her, with some like flicker and reflection from destruction possibly being a make or break. and the 3 are hunt (don’t lvl.) are also good to bring up turn action.

It was way too long after pulling Firefly before I figured out this is how you get the new world/planar ornaments.
The only thing I don’t like is how hyper specific the weighted curios are, only applying to 1 maybe 2 characters. Also there is an event that gives you two out of the three Rupert curios so that’s an easy way to get them if your lucky although I think it has the same rarity as rm event as I have only seen it once over the course of 50 runs.
Firefly + Destruction + Nihility carried me through all the threshold levels
Honestly I really like that they let you use characters you haven't built. Like.. yeah, the generated build isn't gonna be amazing, but it's nice to try out something new. And with the right blessings, anything can work, so I'm happy.
I like that it let's me run characters I haven't built yet at "max", So I can actually run different team comps without having to grind to level characters up to use them.
As much as I adore Firefly, I just hate how much this relies on rng and break. I wish break characters have their own blessing of a new path since it doesn't change the old blessing there just a new blessing for the new character. I much prefer gold and gear. I found the gameplay of that very interesting. Great guide since I was confused since I just want to lvl up my Firefly
No other destruction character besides maybe Blade even got anything from Destruction path anyway. Jingliu could never get the buffs because she only drained ally HP and not her own, Clara can't survive without a healer and so would constantly be jumping between 1 turn of buffs and 2-3 turns of nothing, Daniel has no HP mechanics, Xueyi does everything _except_ HP drain, etc. They were all better off with Hunt.
Steamrolled GnG up to max conundrum levels with Aventurine. This DU however..
Too much rng for me, I've lost almost every wealth domain or had only nevative effects from my runs. Hopefully there'll be some changes like adding regular blessing rerolls or something.
The main thing i hate witht his mode, is that the Arithmetic Mapping feature cant be tured off and it will fck up your units builds. Like what were they thinking? Why cant it be turned off?
Save your sanity and do not attempt Protocol 5+ and above on Divergent universe. They did say it is still in its early trial and many are unpolished. You're at the mercy of pure RNG. You can still get most of your rewards doing regular V Protocol 0.
"You're at the mercy of pure RNG." So it's the same as SU Conundrums where you either do Remembrance cheese and hope the enemy doesn't resist every freeze or give you freeze immune enemies or you get lucky with capitalism else reset constantly.
@@Cr3zant In DU, there's no "high chance of this certain path blessing to appear". You can't choose your playstyle, you're stuck with awful equations and blessings that you can only refresh before main bosses and it gets very expensive. From SU to G&G, you can at least block certain blessings from appearing. Like for example, if you don't get the 3 star nihility suspicion buff, all 2 stars nihility blessing that buff suspicion won't ever appear. In DU, every blessings has an equal chance of appearing. Making it difficult to snipe powerful blessings from each paths.

@@victorpresti Are you sure you didn't do the weekly Cyclical DU instead? Because that one gives you gold equation at the start and 4 path blessings with 2 guaranteed 3 star blessings that goes with the path.
The auto-build option needs to be, well, an OPTION. Goodness forbid you have one +14 relic on a character then the whole build gets replaced with random (and terrible) stats, like minus 40 speed. You have no choice but to spend resources and level relics that may not even be worth it if you want any control at all over your stats and speed rotations. FeelsBadMan when you spend months farming and the the game is just like "nah, you can't"
I really like this more than gold and gears, in GnG it takes forever to reach the last boss and some rando elite can drop kick you out mid way. I also don't like the missions of needing to clear GnG with every path because I don't play dot and I don't have a sustain that gives shields so it's too difficult to achieve that for me.
The most difficult thing for me in this new mode was the mission of "clearing difficulty 4 or above while having 4090 fragments". The Rng is kinda annoying but it's good that you get to reroll blessings. One thing I would say is they need to add more weighted curios, the current ones are way too specific and sometimes useless on some teams.
Overall I think it's good (already at lvl 42, cleared all difficulties and got all the rewards from collectables and missions, no I am not addicted at all I swear )

I don't like how this new DU relies on equations, they do damage not the characters, and it caters more to break team how insanely tanky bosses are without breaking it, it even says they take less dmg while having toughness. I didn't have fun while clearing difficult 6 and will never do that again. Gold and gears is still goated, although i do like that you can swap to any character.

Divergent Universe is some of the biggest fun I've had on HSR in a while. It also feels way less tedious to grind than Swarm or Gear. Currently trying to complete my curios list

Bro it's just two 3* light cones anyway. Don't sweat it. You will realistically never be in a situation where 2 pulls is crucial to you. Absolute worst case scenario you spend 5 bucks on an immediate top-up. Are hours of your time worth just 5 bucks? Doubt it.
I think it’s pretty reasonable to do thresholds 1 and 2. Even 3 is approachable for most players, I feel. Threshold 4+ is when things get stupid. So only 180 jades are locked behind the absurd stuff. Just over 1 single pull (AKA 3 days worth of dailies)
@@zaxtonhong3958 People will realistically lose more pulls from not being able to 3* the last part of MoC or PF due to not having Kafka/Acheron than they will from not doing Thresholds.
I thought we finally have something that catered to break dps, but sadly not so much. Sure there equations and blessings(mostly 1 star) that benefit super/break but to get the equation, destruction/nihility/hunt have too much non break beneficial blessings to unlock the equation in the first place. I hope they make a new path entirely fro break dps
Do you know which equation gives the Ultimate = follow up? It's no longer an Elation blessing. I have seen a Crit DMG = follow, but that's the closest i've seen.
There’s a weighted curio with something similar
It's pretty great, I have grinded all the way to syn level 32. Being able to play with characters I haven't leveled is great.
Less tedious and annoying to level than the other two sim universe.
And since you mentioned housing, the only housing I want is the room I was promised by March when we joined the Express.
I hate the new mechanic where they force trial characters on you if your relics aren't fully leveled. Like I don't need to level my Pelas arms to 15 and I definitely don't want you to replace her with a terrible DPS set. I had to waste all my upgrade mats on my characters that were perfectly fine just to keep the builds I've worked so hard for
One of the best things I love in this game mode is the ability to freely switch units from the get-go + the auto level sync of underlevelled characters.
In my case, I have Harmony Caelus + Gallagher + Ruan Mei + (adjusted) Firefly. But when I face mob units, I just swap out Firefly to Acheron to one-shot them, and them back to Firefly afterwards.

He made the final boss random. In swarm/regular SU, we plan to fight 1 possible boss. In GnG, we plan to fight 1 or 2 possibilities. In DU, we need to plan to fight 4 possible end bosses
but at least his kit will be awesome when he's out in 2026 :)
Honestly, the last bit is the only real "dealbreaker". You get way more blessings and other bonuses through a run, even if much of it is RNG-reliant (especially the Weighted Curios, that can make or break a run), but it just feels cheap when you think you have a solid build by the end of the run, only to face a boss that just happens to counter your team, and you have to either restart, or resolve yourself to a half-hour long grind while praying for RNGesus for a break.
This new mode is super exciting, but I am not looking forward to higher Thresholds if it's anything like Conundrum before. I'll never understand how people can solo Conundrum 12, when even with the best loadouts I can think of, I can't even beat Conundrum 4.
Guoba, can you recommend any creators who have comprehensive and digestible guides for Conundrum in Gold & Gears? I'd love to finally be done with that mode, so I can focus on the new one.

there are two benchmarks for your team when running V6 Divergent Universe: if you can't overflow the first two bosses' bonus stage, you're probably going to lose to the final boss
I really love how Divergent Uni yolks everyone you have to Lvl 80. I can try anyone I want and it’s fun lol
But if you had nice relics but not at maxed to +15, all yours are replaced
My Bronya had +15 broken keel but it gets replaced with fleet of the ageless anyways

Any way you can do a guide on swarm and gold&gears too? I just don’t really understand those and because of that, I haven’t really challenged them. I know Im missing tons of rewards from those two alone
I cleared up to Threshold 4 in about two days before I decided that was enough for the week. Although I tried using some alternative teams, I ended up doing most of those runs with my (E1) Firefly team, and in several cases being one blessing short of completing my 3* equation. E1 Firefly + the two 3* hunt blessings that 100% action advance basically let Firefly chew through most of the boss fights, even with their inflated HP.
I anticipate T5 and T6 will be harder, but it's surprising how far the team can go on brute force strength alone. And, of course, for picking up jades on difficulty 4, the team can just rush straight to the end ignoring whatever the blessings, equations, and negative curios are.

Lol, thanks for the Guide Guoba, but I already passed V6 before you released this video. just a bit earlier. And I was only at synchronicity level 26 lol, got quite lucky with a certain 3-star curio that both made me deal more damage and have more HP, v6 clear was extremely comfortable, way more than my v4 and v5 clears.
Why does it feel like they try really hard to go out of there way to make these SU things as overly-complicated as possible?
another funky thing about the weekly challenge is you can fully ignore it by switching the blessings at the elite boss terminal thingies

I hate this, it’s so much rng and not even the fun kind. Both Swarm and GnG while hard were much more fun. The devs burnt the kitchen with how much bullshit this is with all the rng, no bannable paths, making rerolling blessings more and more expensive. They also fucking gutted the good blessings and made the final boss all rng. Give me back my survival destruction path and just make a new path catered to break ffs
Not to mention how there is no way to get path resonance until you get 16 blessings which is frankly impossible. They literally got rid of every good QOL Swarm, GnG had in favor of this mid bullshit the devs made.
I already hit sync rank 50 and got all the limited rewards...

Honestly once DU gets a expansion mode like SD or GnG it would be really fun. I feel like at the moment it has a lot more strategy to it then normal SU but theres a LOT of rng in it without much way of manipulating it

I really dislike this new mode. It is way too rng heavy, I genuinely feel like I have no control over anything in this mode, this is especially detrimental at higher difficulty.

realy hate this mode, the blessings arent easy to get nor reset and whej the path u commited to just doesn't work against the boss that's rng ur run just fucking fails

I never got used to the dice faces and other stuff about G&G, felt too confusing for my adhd brain to keep track of. Divergent universe is awesome though, I'm having so much more fun with it. Like, to the point of noticeably less sleep this week.

Firefly is too strong for this 😂 Threshold 4 and no problems till now, good or bad RNG.
I def prefer GnG/Swarm over this mode, although the added planar farm convenience is a definite plus, so I still consider it a win. But it felt.. too easy? Maybe because I have really .. expensive(?)/well-built teams.. but I went in with an E0S0 Firefly team, and used Aventurine for sustain and one shot the level 6 difficulty with ease... also got my FF to E2S1 in the meantime and it's kind of a snooze fest now. But it's still fun, overall I still prefer SU stuff as my go-to game mode. Still trying to get 100% on the collections, even though I have all the required thresholds to get the rewards.
Its very cool this new mode but i think the moc, purefic and apocalyptic shadows have a lot of time of reset in general, should be one of this modes per week i think (okay with less rewards).
Guys, can you help me out pls? I haven't yet done the lore to get to divergent universe normally, and the screen there says that if I activate it early some missions in story may change. I am kinda scared by that, so can anybody tell me what are those changes?
