    Very clear and concise strip, replace and rebuild. If i may just add a very small positive comment to Disconnect the Positive battery lead(make a note of radio code) and place bungs in any orifice that leads directly into the engines bowls. Great video. Peter Disley

    Great video! I'll need to do this to my Aygo because i have LPG system on it.
    I already cleaned my MAF and Throttle body from carbon deposits.
    But the LPG system has Lubrication System right behind the Maf sensor and it mixed Oil with carbon deposits and probably theres too much lubrication inside the intake manifold.
    Has anyone experienced this?

    Good video. Watched this ahead of a similar job on a Yaris, also fitted with the 3-cyl 1KR-FE engine. Looks straightforward. Thanks for uploading 🙂

    ...bel lavoretto bravo! Che benefici hai riscontrato dopo avere cambiato la guarnizione? Grazie, ciao

    I would have been tempted to replace the throttle body gasket too.

    Will this be the reason I have a loud sucking/vacuum sound coming from the left hand side rear of the engine that I can't pinpoint? On idle/tickover. It's still running fine but you can hear the vacuum for about 4 seconds after the engine is turned off. I've checked all hoses & connectors & its not them.

      Possibly, however if the manifold gasket is leaky, you should have a signs of oily stuff somewhere around the manifold, do you? And there are two hoses running to the manifold at either sides, are sure it's not one them? My brother has a sucking sound and it occured to be the hose between the mainfold and the brake pump being split.

      I managed swapping the gasket as per your instructions, I was pretty amazed really that it still ran ok as the gasket was completely flattened & it also had a piece about 5mm completely missing from the top of number one cylinder just by the location tab, which was the source of the loud sucking sound. Cheers for the information.

    Thanks a lot! Just did this on my girlfriends 107. Took 2 hours, and i'm not even good with my hands/cars.

    The job can be done without removing wiper arm and scuttle panel. 🤤

    What are the symptoms of a leaking intake manifold gasket on one of these engines?

    • @fixanddrive
      @fixanddrive  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just an oily mess running down the engine block.

      @@fixanddrive I can smell petrol when driving my dads one but only when fans are on ans it's in slow moving or stationary traffic. No visible leaks so wondering if it could be this as well

    All these videos are mighty! Thanks for taking the time to record them. I wonder if this manifold gasket leek could cause the engine to start and then cut out after 2 seconds, sometimes?

      Hard to say, really.

    My starter looks oily, can that oil also be from the intake gasket?

    Is the Dirt inside the cylinder Head at around 5:20 coming from the intake manifold gasket or EGR valve? My C1 looks exactly Like that wondering if its a normal Thing or bad for the engine.
    Very helpful Video btw thanks a Lot!

    • @fixanddrive
      @fixanddrive  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      all the dirt covering the engine head and block comes from the leaking inlet manifold gasket.

    Great video! I have found out that my engine is leaking oil from the intake manifold but what I don’t understand is why there is oil in there. I have tested my pcv valve and it seems fine. Why would it than leak oil?
    Thanks! Great video

      There is oil in there in every car. That's an oil/air mixture.

      At 4:50 there's some good images, where the completely flattened gasket is quite evident.
      FYI Any rubber gaskets, O-rings, etc. should be supple and flexible. The moment they get deformed, rigid and brittle the time to change them is long gone! Cheers
