This is the most underrated video on the whole internet. I'd usually spend around 20minutes while I peal & eat one grapefruit. This technique will save me a lot of time. Thank you very much!
I really love Grapefruit but I was never taught your way of prep, mine was practically picking the grapefruit out, it was awful almost an hour for fruit. YOUR WAY IS AWESOME and I'll be doing that from now on 💖💖💖💖💖
Late to the party. but wanted to say thank you. I have never eaten grapefruit at home even though we have a grapefruit tree as it has always been such a pain to get the segments out. This is so easy!
OMG !!!!!! Thats amazing. I love grapefruit and have fought this process for years. Why i waited so long to youtube it is beyond me. My first one turned out perfect. Thank you so much. I cook alot and watched Giada segment one, but all of the chefs actually cut down both sides of the vein and waste a ton of great flesh. This gets all the meat of the fruit.
Literally had to look this up because I’ve been eating my grape fruit like a savage for years 😂😂😂 and I still love it prob love it more out of that skin sac thingy it’s in
Your the only one that does it like my grandmother, mother, and I do it. I'm 65yrs. Good job. Sometimes with sugar, sometimes with salt. Once in awhile I'll toss a bunch in the vitamix or Champion juicer. Good stuff.
Wow this is the video I've been looking for. I used to slice it into several slices and then would cut the slices into halves and eat the slices and it would be so messy.
Thanks for posting, by far the best way to prepare a grapefruit. The only thing I would add is that I also squeeze all of the bits that have been cut off for extra juice.
The significant distinction is how you sliced one section, THEN removed it, THEN did the next section. I had seen a couple of videos telling us to cut all of the sections, THEN remove all of them at once. This was a MUCH better approach.

Wonderful!! - Great Vid many thanks for sharing - I tried it the first time and worked a treat!! Happy days ahead for this Grapefruit lov'in Guy in the UK . I'll add this skill to my CV :)
Grapefruit definitely tastes best prepared this way! That's too much waste for me so I'd eat every bit of it. The pieces could be squeezed to make grapefruit juice too. I LOVE GRAPEFRUIT!
I've seen others cut the grapefruit in half then cut the middle out in a "V" cut then cut straight down each individual slice. Then just eat it like you when you see oranges cut in individual pieces.
omg.. this is great! I've been brutally destroying the poor things to point that the mash ends up in a glass of vodka-soda, which is also not wrong I guess ;)
This is way batter way what I have know so far to cut n peel fruit.i love eating grapefruit but all that rined makes it bitter .I prob gonna feel im wasting some but I guess worth it
It looks wasteful. Bitter is good for your gallbladder and digestive system. You could take the rinds, squeeze the juice into icecube trays and pop them in your water. I compost my citrus because i have a badass composter. Use the squeezed rinds in a jar filled with vinegar and make your own citrus cleaner.
How to *CUT* and segment grapefruit. No peeling here. Good stuff though, it's the tastiest way to eat it. My grandmother used to peel each segment by hand, it was amazing but no one has the patience for that

Best way I've seen to prepare grapefruit! Thank you!
Best video on the topic I’ve seen. Thanks a lot for sharing. It’s nice to know it stays fresh for a week in the fridge.
This method is the best! I was able to make a grapefruit smoothie easily! Taste delicious without that bitter skin.
Late to the party. but wanted to say thank you. I have never eaten grapefruit at home even though we have a grapefruit tree as it has always been such a pain to get the segments out. This is so easy!
I just tried this method and it works great! It's nice to find a video right away from someone that knows what they're doing.

I love grapefruit but I get in such a mess trying to prepare them. This is the best video I've seen on getting clean segments. Thank you 😊
I tried this morning.
Yes, it's very easy and good result.
Big thanks for your clip❤️❤️
Absolutely the best way to process grapefruit and oranges.
I've recently started eating grapefruit as a snack on my new diet. Never thought about cutting supremes. Thank you!
Literally had to look this up because I’ve been eating my grape fruit like a savage for years 😂😂😂 and I still love it prob love it more out of that skin sac thingy it’s in

I love grapefruit and I know I was eating it wrong. Thanks so much for this video. I will always cut 🔪 it up this way. You’re the best ❤️🫶🏽
I always wondered how they did this as I see it a lot when staying at different hotels. Thank you so much. Awesome video
Thank you so much!!! I love red grapefruit but ended up spending too much $ buying prepeeled. I can’t wait to try this method tomorrow morning.
My life is forever changed thank you!!
This is the prettiest grapefruit ever. I’m going to try this method tomorrow.
Nice I love how the grapefruit looks. Very delicious 😋
I love grapefruit. Thanks for the tips. Can't wait to try this method.
I am so grateful for the information. I love the taste but hate digging it out the old way. Thanks much.
Oh boy! Thanks! Now the fun begins, I have about 20 grapefruit I need to cut up! ❤
Your the only one that does it like my grandmother, mother, and I do it. I'm 65yrs. Good job.
Sometimes with sugar, sometimes with salt. Once in awhile I'll toss a bunch in the vitamix or Champion juicer. Good stuff.
This is so relieving to watch, thank you!
Yum! Gonna give this a try tomorrow. Thank you!
Many thanks- will give this method a try. didn't think about prepping for a week- that will save a lot of time.
Amazing technique. Can't wait to try.
Just did it!!! Lol never eat grapefruit the same again. Worked perfectly !👌

Great trick! I’m so excited to have learned this method.
Thank you so much!!! It’s worth the work!!!

Best method I've seen.
Fantastic demo!!!
So glad I watched this. I’m about to go eat my grapefruit now 👍🌸
Thank you, this is great! I am going to buy a big bag of grapefruit and keep it around to snack on. SO much better than lame grapefruit spoon idea :)
Thank you for showing how this is done easily and realistically, grapefruit spoons should be burned.

Excellent knife skills!🙂
wow that intro caught me off guard and sent me off to cloud9 LOL
I love grapefruit Too !
Grapefruit definitely tastes best prepared this way! That's too much waste for me so I'd eat every bit of it. The pieces could be squeezed to make grapefruit juice too. I LOVE GRAPEFRUIT!
I always eat this and pineapple with chilli garlic and salt 🤤🤤
QUESTION: What knives do you use? They cut so nicely . I cut my last grapefruit with brand new knives & It still didn't cut as nicely as yours.
Thank you so much! How easy
Try adding Cinnamon, a ton of Cinnamon! Really Cinnamon and Grapefruit are so good together!
Best way yet looks good
my FAVE method now. thx
Great video thx for sharing👌🏾
Ohmygod that was the most cute n satisfying video I've ever seen on TH-cam it was damn cute😆
This was awesome!
I have always Eaten it with my fingers It makes is so much Juicer😋😉
Great video
Amazing video thank you so much
Yes this method is pretty much how a professional would prep for like a restaurant buffet.
excellent technique my dear, thank-you.
I think this works best with larger grapefruits. Mine were small, thin-skinned and juicy. I ended up making a mess.
I love it
Nice shortcut for segmenting, only takes 1/2 the number of cuts😊
“I may be **slightly** addicted” *eats 2-3 grapefruits worth of morsels in one sitting*
do you refrigerate them before cutting?
Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you it works great!
Thank you for your information
It. Sprinkle a little cayenne pepper on mine. Best thing ever.
Does that work better cold or room temperature?
Thanks. This is great.
Nice 👍
Thank you, awesome video!!!
I've seen others cut the grapefruit in half then cut the middle out in a "V" cut then cut straight down each individual slice. Then just eat it like you when you see oranges cut in individual pieces.
Thank you!!!
Thank you so much
pink grapefruit, parsnip shavings, and parsley in a grapefruit vinaigrette
OMG, I ate grapefruit until my mouth bled yesterday. THANKS!!😂
That's the only way to do it...
Yummmmmmmm
Thanks 🙏
omg.. this is great! I've been brutally destroying the poor things to point that the mash ends up in a glass of vodka-soda, which is also not wrong I guess ;)
I. Love. Grapefruit! I tried your method and now can clean up bags of grapefruit in no time! Thank you so, so much. Can a person O.D. on grapefruit?
This is way batter way what I have know so far to cut n peel fruit.i love eating grapefruit but all that rined makes it bitter .I prob gonna feel im wasting some but I guess worth it
OMG thank you.
It looks really simple cutting that, but it would make me feel like I'm wasting grapefruit .
This is EXACTLY how I section a grapefruit and dive in...
💕💕
Nice
Wow I mean I like grapefruit no matter how I eat it like oranges 🍊 most people don’t like it because it tastes bitter
Don't discard the walls. They may not have a very pleasant taste, but it contains 75 percent of the grapefruits fiber
Sprinkle a little salt over your grapefruit.
The thing you call "the white stuff" and "this middle..." is called pith. Like the helmet. On all citrus fruits.
How to *CUT* and segment grapefruit. No peeling here. Good stuff though, it's the tastiest way to eat it. My grandmother used to peel each segment by hand, it was amazing but no one has the patience for that
A lot easier if you freeze them
👍
I love grapefruit!! However it kills my stomach!! 😢
Your also blunting you’re knife by scrapping it across the cutting board.
Compost the skins, do the right thing. :)
Put rinds down the garbage disposal for citrus smell
Bitter is needed, for the liver ,digestion
Um, I can't be the only person who just slices it up and sucks the life out of it with the rind on it. Similar to an orange ...
It’s more refreshing that way 😆
