I precut all the pieces to make 4 nesting boxes .everything went smooth but my bottom optional peice was 1/2 inch off so I ended up leaving a gap near the front for airflow. Didnt realize I would have that problem until after. Its because I ripped a 1/2 4x8 cdx to 10 inch widths with my table saw and cut all the peices with my miter saw then cut all my sides with a skill saw. Then used a 18 gauge nailer and wood glue to build the boxes which should be strong enough to hold them together. Anyways thanks for the video and posting your measurements I was able to build all four in about a hour I have doe's that are all due on valentine's day.
I strongly recommend NOT putting a wood bottom in the box, because after use they must be cleaned and disinfected. Truth is, given the propensity of wood to absorb liquids, you can never really fully clean them and after 2 or 3 uses they really should be discarded and rebuilt. An alternative that I used to use is 3 or 4 layers of cardboard cut to just fit inside. After use, toss the cardboard in the compost and just replace the cardboard. I never had to replace my boxes this way. One other suggestion for those making nestboxes: do not begin building them UNTIL you have first measured the cage door and confirmed the intended box size will fit through the door. Ask me how I knew this.
Good morning, Thank you for the important video tutoriol may i ask you about the size used (length width height, .....) in centimeters , or the dimension Thank you
It seems there's a lot of waste in an 8 foot length. If you buy a 12 foot length, can't you get 2 boxes with a few inches left over for a baby scraper for each box?
i know im asking randomly but does someone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly lost my login password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Leonidas Levi Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm in the hacking process now. Takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Just built mine based in your spec. Thanks for the video. Easy to follow, easy to build, easy way to save money. 40 minutes for two boxes.
Thank you!

I don't think it's a good idea to use wood glue since these boxes will get chewed on.
Brilliant!.
Simple, succinct and to the point.
Nice one!
Thank you!
Today that like a 100 dollar board. Good vid thanks.

What about a baby scraper on the front ?
I'm planning a build and I would like to know what a baby scrapper is?

You can always turn it off and go troll someone else if you'd like.

Nice! But please don't wear gloves when using a table saw; super dangerous
Not if you keep your fingers away from the blade.
