It's such an interesting change to the game, I guess it does allow newer Epic Mickey fans who don't know the names of the Gremlins to get creative and name the unnamed characters themselves.
I have some headcanons for Oswald's characterization in 2. 1. Oswald flat out refused Mickey's help and didn't give Mickey a chance in 1 when Mickey genuinely was trying to help Wasteland. He's trying to not repeat the same mistake with the Mad Doctor. 2. He's mellowed out now that the Blot Wars have ended and his one source of stability (Ortensia) is by his side once again. Ortensia is to Oswald what Belle is to the Beast in Kingdom Hearts. On a side note, I wish we had gotten 3 and it was the Paint ending. We could have had a G-rated Professor Farnsworth! _("Everyone's always in favor of saving Hitler's brain. But when you put it in the body of a great white shark, ohhh suddenly you've gone too far!")_
I know the usher was changed to his EM2 appearance, I think Jack Kelly is in his Epic Mickey form. Also funnily, I think Gilda switches models halfway through EM2 so yeah, technically it's her both EM and EM2 model
I think one of the biggest issues might've been how Mickey having absorbed some of the Blot is set up in the first game, and then is never mentioned again in EM2. Maybe that was supposed to connect to the Pete storyline in the third game?
I think there was originally gonna be a story where the Mad Doctor used Mickey's Blot ink to resurrect the Blot, but I think it was cut for time & for being too similar to the first game. It is kinda weird how Mickey's Blot drippings just sort of disappears in EM2, since it's not even dripping off him during the game like in the first game
What I love about the Old Epic Mickey Betas is that they give me some Looney Tunes vibes to it especially with the Ray Gun and flying etc and I would of loved to see more of it
I would say that the Epic Mickey 2 belongs to those Disney direct to video sequels whilst the first game belongs to Disney Animation. At least, in my opinion, that is.
for Oswald and his trust in the doctor, to be fair, they had a positive work relationship before the thinner disaster, plus the only one in waste land that would have know he was a machine was gus so especially if the doc got to Oswald first it's actually pretty believable that Oswald would be quicker to trust the mad doctor than most.
You could probably go either way with this. I suppose if he'd gotten over the Doc's betrayal before then, he could be more willing to trust him. I still don't think he should be 100% sold though

I think its funny that Oswald preaches giving people second chances in the second game, but barely gives Mickey a chance in the first, only trusting him after coming to terms that Mickey isn't all that bad, and genuinely wants to help Oswald (especially since Mickey gave his heart up to save Oswald and Gus), but all it takes in the second game is one song that barely lasts 3 minutes to gain his trust?

I hope the Rebrushed game helps us get Epic Mickey 3. I always wondered as a kid what the Petes were up to at the end of the game. Then Power of Illusion happened, and while I really like that game, I wish we had gotten more of a proper 3rd game.
Apparently Purple Lamp is interested in doing a remake of Epic Mickey 2 if Rebrushed does well. Hopefully they'd also conclude the Epic Mickey story in that potential game as well

Something to Also note, Prescott, the one gremlin out of the very few who got names in Epic Mickey 2 doesn’t keep his original color look in Epic Mickey. When we save Prescott from the Safe in the first game he has a Blue uniform, than they ended changing it to purple in the second game. Some Beta video shows Orescott in the earlier stages with him wearing his common blue outfit as well as some concept art, but I’m still not entirely sure why they changed this in the game.
I think his overall design changed because he was more important to the story so he needed to stand out. I dunno why his colour changed though, I think not even Warren Spector remembers why that is

Maybe if Disney were willing to push the envelope with Mickey, and let Junction Point finish the ENTIRE development so the game released in 2011, they could’ve had all of the concepts like a more fleshed out morality system and other locations like the jug pump.
Honestly, i think ozzy in epic mickey 2 couldve been a great cortinary story of ozzy trying to over correct for his lack of trust originaly, but instead of justtaking the oppertunity and having people call out hes being overly trusting, he just looks like an idit. This couldve been a good plot point of how over corection isnt the right solution.

Yeah, I've never really tried to 100% it purely coz it's so difficult with no do-overs or New Game+ like in the first game. Hopefully a remake would fix it/make it easier

So basically I'm doing weekly Epic Mickey videos until Rebrushed releases, so it's just counting down to that. After the game releases I'll still do videos, just not as often and on a more wide variety of topics. (Also, I did realise Ezra lived in OsTown... after I had recorded and edited most of the video)
Honestly, the cutscenes look better in the 1st game than the cutscenes in the 2nd game did. I know Wasteland was restored of color at the end of the 1st game but I thought the look of the animated cutscenes in the 2nd game took away the atmosphere in Wasteland.
The style of the cutscenes definitely changed in between games, so it did lose some of the atmosphere of the first game. I think that's true for the entire game, it definitely got more brighter and Disney-fied.
one thing epic Mickey 2 did at was a really nice addition was the voice acting we can all agree the first game was great but the lack of voice acting was like the only downside to the game so epic Mickey 2’s voice acting was a nice addition only wished the game wasn’t so rushed then maybe it would be remembered as more than just a meh sequel to epic Mickey

Disasters can be a reason to renovate parts of the city. Look at the 1745 Lisbon heartquake, due to the disaster they remodeled and changed the layout of various parts of the city. So maybe they did the same in Epic Mickey 2. Plus carachters can change so it isn't far fetched to undeŕstand Oswald's trust in Mad Doctor.
Valid points, I just personally don't see how Oswald's character could change so drastically, plus places like Bog Easy are almost unrecognisable from Epic Mickey. It's great if these changes work for you, it just doesn't do it for me.
The yellow gremlin that gets catapulted if you are greedy, but if you save him he does reapear in power of two but you can only find this out in the files by his name
as an epic mickey 2 defender, i would say that after seeing a bit of the story from the first game the game is a bit patchy and glitchy but i will say that the glitches were very rare on my like 3 playthroughs as a kid
Yeah, I think it depends on what version of Epic Mickey 2 you played to how glitchy it is. Since the PC and WiiU versions are very glitchy but the Wii and Xbox/PS3 versions have less of them

Out of all the Petes, he was genuinely a hero, so why is he being such a dickhead and making you pay to get by, and more importantly why is Pete Pan joining Big Bad Pete to do some evil shit at the end? Hell, ONLY Big Bad Pete can likely be evil, Small Pete wasn't really mean, just upset of the whole misunderstanding between him and the Gremlins, Petetronic was actually cool too, in charge of Tomorrow City, only evil because of getting corrupt, and you redeeming him gets him back to normal, I don't see...ANY of the Petes besides Big Bad Pete possibly doing any evil shit, and even that's a stretch, because if you DO choose to help out his family in Epic Mickey 1, he starts being much nicer to people.

Something that bugs me the most is that PETE PAN SHOULDN'T BE A BAD GUY!!! Out of all the Petes, he was genuinely a hero, so why is he being such a dickhead and making you pay to get by, and more importantly why is Pete Pan joining Big Bad Pete to do some evil shit at the end?
Hell, ONLY Big Bad Pete can likely be evil, Small Pete wasn't really mean, just upset of the whole misunderstanding between him and the Gremlins, Petetronic was actually cool too, in charge of Tomorrow City, only evil because of getting corrupt, and you redeeming him gets him back to normal, I don't see...ANY of the Petes besides Big Bad Pete possibly doing any evil shit, and even that's a stretch, because if you DO choose to help out his family in Epic Mickey 1, he starts being much nicer to people.
Yes, the presence of Pete Pan specifically really bugs me, since he's basically supposed to be Peter Pan in the body of Pete. I really don't think Junction Point thought it out that far
