I discovered Rye after purchasing a pair of etching depicting The Landgate & The Mermaid Inn. I decided to visit and fell in love with Rye! Have been several times since. I hope it never changes.

Rye came upon us as a complete surprise. We were doing a top to bottom/east to west/zig-zag driving tour of the whole of UK. We had just spent the last day in Brighton and Hastings and were on our way to Dover, then Canterbury. On our way, we stopped at a beach and some women told us we have to go to Rye and what a beautiful town it was. Really glad we took their advice. Very much worth the stop.

My elder brother had his bank account compromised several times,money lost,he spreads his name, email, phone everywhere for all to see. You simply cannot trust everyone these days unfortunately, one must discriminate to protect oneself,there are some very clever criminals on the internet they can trace you and access your details on your PC just by your name. The other day I was asked for my email address in a store so they could send me a receipt! I said no thanks, I'll get everything else I dont want in my inbox as well ! I said I wasn't born yesterday....too bad they didn't like it. Also Twitter, Facebook etc are a goldmine for criminals or used for commercial purposes,be careful.

We are spoilt,as we live only 6 miles from Rye.Also since March 2015 we have a (2 auditorium) boutique cinema(KINO),with a great cafe.Despite many tourists in Summer,nothing can really spoil Rye.

Actually, we found Rye by mistake. It was a town in between two places we were traveling to. Hastings to Dover. It was just a magical moment that was a mistake. Loved it. Didn't even know it was there until we came across it.

It’s not a resort, it’s an English Village. But, anywhere where one can find peace and tranquillity always is an attraction for the senior citizen. For example...myself. I spent 40 years in the bustling City of Los Angeles. Now as a senior, I moved to the serenity of Santa Fe, NM. I would have hated living here in my youth. But wouldn’t trade it for all the Kings gold as a senior.

Charities.Religion etc we were subjected to attacks by various orgs incl Police and US based security firms like Pinkertons and others employed by UK govt. It absolutely is special - beautiful historic streets, medieval architecture and an absolute abundance of charm, it really is everything that you would want in a small coastal town. I really love the style that so many of the medieval villages and market towns in this region of England (Sussex, Kent and Surrey) take; with characteristic half-timbered buildings (many of which are in the Wealden vernacular), decorative hung tile and uniquely pitched roofs, not to mention the very fine collection of medieval religious, and defensive, architecture that can be found throughout the South-East. Far from mediocre in my opinion.

Rye came upon us as a complete surprise. We were doing a top to bottom/east to west/zig-zag driving tour of the whole of UK. We had just spent the last day in Brighton and Hastings and were on our way to Dover, then Canterbury. On our way, we stopped at a beach and some women told us we have to go to Rye and what a beautiful town it was. Really glad we took their advice. Very much worth the stop.

We are spoilt,as we live only 6 miles from Rye.Also since March 2015 we have a (2 auditorium) boutique cinema(KINO),with a great cafe.Despite many tourists in Summer,nothing can really spoil Rye.

Actually, we found Rye by mistake. It was a town in between two places we were traveling to. Hastings to Dover. It was just a magical moment that was a mistake. Loved it. Didn't even know it was there until we came across it.

As we once had 200 "friends" at the latter the film was noticed by us and of course the location Rye SX where Weslake either is or was. Because we had an interest in that sport or industry, and were loosly connected to it via the Connaught draftsman and the man who was involved in G Hill and the ill fated Ford sports car. However since getting involved with politics,law etc we saw the error of our silly ways and ended all interest in the (and any) sport. This decision was spurred on by the real fact that when we started knocking on doors throughout Cent London re Poliiticsl Lw. Govt. HM Coroners. Health. Royals. Charities.Religion etc we were subjected to attacks by various orgs incl Police and US based security firms like Pinkertons and others employed by UK govt. It was the BBC whon advisaed us to hide the evidence abroad. None of the arty people we knew would lift a fiunger re wrongdoing. The threats we recd incl those from US Embassy. None of thee meanace has worked. The action was taken against us because we were exposing the Mental Health system after we were told not to resolve the publics issues because the work was affecting the earnings within that system. We were getting results that the NHS and Private systems were failing to do.For instance 7 hours work instead of 20 yrs.The gathered evidence amounts to 1000pp. We are amazed that the very wide awake people in that sport failed to notice what goes on all round them. Williams situation in Oxon yet everywhere we looked in that county proved that no one can be wholly trusted. We cite Cameron at 10 D St and at Witney. That latter office detroyed their own website when we started pobing. The people at that office wont reply nor will Cameron. It absolutely is special - beautiful historic streets, medieval architecture and an absolute abundance of charm, it really is everything that you would want in a small coastal town. I really love the style that so many of the medieval villages and market towns in this region of England (Sussex, Kent and Surrey) take; with characteristic half-timbered buildings (many of which are in the Wealden vernacular), decorative hung tile and uniquely pitched roofs, not to mention the very fine collection of medieval religious, and defensive, architecture that can be found throughout the South-East. Far from mediocre in my opinion.
