Hi, I am french and I live near Lyon - In my region, there is also an ancient french village called Pérouges - but I can only tell you that the cities showed here are looking like cities in french Brittania - it is amazing !
This is a beautiful place to live in when you want to slow down and catch up with some beautiful things to enjoy you have missed when your city life blinded you with all your childhood dreams being tried to become full reality. This is the place you need to go back to always to realize how lucky you are to be alive, to see people walking slow, savoring the gentle wind, feeling the invigorating touch of the rural sun and your heart wishing to reach out to others and have some wishing-well conversation. how i wish i could walk this place someday.

Such a beautiful clean village of few hundred years. If every village in the world can be clean and well maintained the world will be a wonderful happy place to stay.
This is my dream vacation. We hope to rent a cottage in the Cotswolds for a month and tour around as much of England as we can. When I see these images, I have to wonder why my ancestors ever left England in the first place.
I guess we all think these sort of things but from the relative comfort of where we are. They left for better opportunities, I suppose - which I hope they found. I hope you can plan your visit when travel is possible again. The good thing is, these villages will not change much at all if your trip is postponed. Try to take in some of Wales, if you have time - there are so many beautiful places to see and more space. (I live in London but we visit the Cotswolds, Devon, Cornwall and south Wales, when we can.)

Visitors to London should make a point of visiting this fascinating part of the country to get a totally different atmosphere from the large city. The largest collection of beautiful ancient towns and villages in unspoiled condition within the U.K.

I can remember staying in Burford at a B&B with my parents when I was a child .The guest House was a Typical Black & White Tudor style building. Very charning
I was very lucky. I had an Aunt and Uncle who had a farm near Evesham. My parents would regularly take us up to the farm and we traveled all over the Cotswolds. It is such a lovely part of the world. How I wish I could have given my children the opportunities that I had in that part of the world.

Cotswolds is surely a very beautiful place. I used to live near Peak District and visit various beautiful spots in England and Scotland and have wanted to retire back in the UK. Do come to Saikung in Hong Kong to explore our beautiful villages. Houses here are not ancient but we have hills and streams, beaches and clusters of islands with fine and white sands, yachts and guiders, bars and starred resturants, golf courses, and above all, sun shine and mild winters. Village houses can be found in absolutely quiet surrounding accessible by cars.

Cackleberry Cottage I wonder the same thing, but knowing how I use a credit card, my ancestors were probably escaping debtors prison,!
