As a business student, sometimes I get frustrated about all the theoretical stuff we have to study, but hearing Vitalik talking about them (public goods, tragedy of the commons, etc.) really motivate me to study and understand this concepts more in detail, cause they can be the foundation to build a new system!

@@gillipollas754 Vitalik has a lecture where he basically analyzes Bitcoin as having started the field of cryptoeconomics, which is using economic concepts (e.g. game theory) to achieve a design goal in software. agreed about his attitude and disposition. i think in large part why people like vitalik, elon and other smart people are humble is because they are similarly surrounded by smart people. in this type of environment, you can only have respect for your peers and colleagues and be kind of in awe yourself.
also, when you're that rich, you are likely only seeing the best sides of people. you're no-one's subordinate where you have to take orders, for example.

This CD has three separate relaxation/meditation sessions on it th-cam.com/users/postUgkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIatrsq guided by a very pleasant and direct male voice. Unlike so many other products of its type, this CD does not have bad synthesizer music, does not feature a phony or affected style of narration, and does not make any bogus claims to be subliminal or to re-train the brain or any of that balderdash. What you get is 1. a guided meditation for getting into a pleasantly relaxed state of body awareness while taking a stroll (superb for those easing back into a fitness routine slowly after an illness or injury) 2. A nice long breath-awareness relaxation session that if followed diligently can put you into very deep states of full-body relaxation and mental calmness, and 3. a buddhist-inspired meditation session designed to help you develop and maintain feelings of loving kindness toward not just yourself and your friends, but toward people you don't even like. The CD makes no claims to be designed for advanced meditators or for buddhists or hindus/yoga practitioners looking for very deep and esoteric stuff. It is geared more toward the average person who just wants to develop the habit of relaxation and stress relief through natural, healthy means. him, if you happen to be reading this, keep up the good work fella, and I love your accent. I would also like to note that I have never fallen asleep while listening to this product. I would like to kindly suggest to the reviewer who said this CD makes him fall asleep, that he might want to get checked to see if he has a sleep disorder, or if he is simply not setting aside ample time for restful sleep at night. A healthy person getting adequate rest at night should be able to go into deep states of mental relaxation without dozing off, if not all the time, then most of the time.

This may be one of the best showings of Vitalik that I've seen to date. He is quite fascinating. I had the joy of sitting behind him at Microsoft Build even though we never met...and to think he was more consequential in his young life than all the other folks in that room. Wild stuff. I do like the quote at the end from Lex. I would like to find a Lex Parser someday.

One of my favorite definitions of an oft-misunderstood word, "humility," is "One's ability to remain *right sized*". In other words: not too big, haughty, or arrogant; but *also* not too *small*: and not being *too small* involves being cognizant of one's abilities; accurately recognizing them, then using them appropriately.

@Heath Sims not really, when compared to those at savant status. The fact that he's holding a full conversation means he's at least more towards the social/interpersonal end rather than the autism end. He's a lucky man, in some ways - these sorts of people are the next to rule the world because most of them are just a step or two above everyone else when it comes to thinking about this kind of complicated tech stuff. The only boundary holding some people back from being the figure that Vitalik is, is that they don't possess the ability to deal with interactions and conversation that he also has.
I went to high school with a guy that Vitalik really reminds me of. A bit of an odd child, he didn't talk to people much by choice but he was an absolute wizard with computers. He was the kid that had hacked the school network by the 8th grade and used the breach purely to load game files for CS, Quake and Doom etc so that kids could play these games on any pc on the network and they only needed to know the folder address to type into the Explorer url field. All these teachers were freaking out about this security breach and here's this "big cyber threat" sitting under their noses and playing games when they left the room.
Sadly, im an idiot and never bothered to learn much more about him. I wasnt mean to him, but we weren't friends either so I don't know what he's up to, now, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was incredibly rich...
I hope you were all kind to these kids if there were any at your schools, because they'll be our bosses soon...
