As a beginning investor, it is essential that you have a mentor to keep you accountable. I'm personally guided by Lucca Marie. A widely known cryptocurrency advisor.
It is really refreshing to see a comment about Lucca Marie. I have worked with her also. her approach consistently keeps you ahead of the trend, She's the best i'll say..
The "advice for young people" 1. Focus your energy 2. Guard your time 3. Train your mind 4. Train your body 5. Think for yourself 6. Curate your friends 7. Curate your environment 8. Keep your promises 9. Stay cheerful and constructive 10. Upgrade the world
**Michael Saylor’s 10 Observations** 1. **Focus your energy:** Your energy is limited, and trying to accomplish too many things can leave you feeling overwhelmed and unproductive. Instead, focus on doing one thing well. 2. **Guard your time:** Protect your time from people and activities that don't contribute to your goals. Being mindful of how you spend your time can help you stay on track. 3. **Train your mind:** Practice and develop your skills in areas that matter to you, such as music, math, or engineering. 4. **Train your body:** Take care of your physical health because it's essential for overall well-being. If your body breaks down, it will affect other aspects of your life as well. 5. **Think for yourself:** Don't let others dictate what you believe or how you live your life. Be critical of the narratives and messages that you encounter and make your own decisions. 6. **Curate your friends:** Choose the people you surround yourself with carefully. You don't need many friends, but the ones you have should be positive influences in your life. 7. **Curate your environment:** Create a safe and productive space for yourself, whether it's your home or your workplace. Make sure that your surroundings support your goals and well-being. 8. **Keep your promises:** When you make a promise, keep it. This will help you build trust and credibility with others. 9. **Stay cheerful and constructive:** Negativity can drain your energy and distract you from your goals. Stay positive and focus on constructive ways to address challenges and setbacks. 10. **Upgrade the world:** Use your skills and talents to make the world a better place. Whether it's through your work, your hobbies, or your interactions with others, strive to leave a positive impact on the world around you.

Lex I love that your willing to ask what words mean that he uses. So many people just pretend to know what he's talking about. Gret job with this interview.
Speaking of inflation at the beginning what I think he's trying to say is there are limiting factors, hidden parameters. It reminds me of Twain and his summary of statistics. The human perception is seriously compartmentalized. lol 💖🙏🌻
The Clint Eastwood quote Saylor mentioned, “A man’s got to know his limitations” is from ‘Magnum Force.’ Just my infinitesimal contribution to a brilliant conversation.
@naradaAye He does this because you can build and integrate services and businesses in and around Bitcoin, and regardless of what you do afterwards and no matter what, the core principles and rules of the Network will stay the same.

That's because it's not entirely honest. Say, how does the value of a fixed-base coin continually increase? Is that relative to inflation? This implies exchange with inflationary currency. However, if Bitcoin were to predominate wouldn't it then be subject to the immense inflationary/deflationary spikes of the 1800s dollar? If yes, would that not make it an inferior monetary vehicle? If no, how would its value continue to increase? By way of an increase in the human population? Then how does that population not become owned by unfair price manipulators since Bitcoin's design makes it hard to seize? Would a solution be address/coin banning? If so, does that mean financial crimes will increase Bitcoin's value? These hard questions are not addressed. This piece is closer to propaganda with its "HODL forever" mentality...
Studying Economics are university is a mistake. Lots of powerful groups pay for dishonest infomation to be propagated in the universities relating to economics. You are better off learning a useful skill and studying economics in your spare time.
@@Mavendow You speak like a maximalist, and the world (almost) NEVER works like that - in a maximalist way. Bitcoin(-equivalents) will take a lot/ majority of the market share, or will force governments to have competition, making government monetary systems less exploitative over time (same as free market principles have positive effects on any free marketplace of anything valuable). Doesn’t mean crypto will (necessarily) take over ALL of the monetary classes. There is co-evolution of “currencies” going on here that nobody can be 100% SURE about how it will play out in the long-term; but old system, as a rule, ossify & get taken over/ out-competed by new, young, innovative & risk-embracing systems (as is with people, so is with companies ^^). With Love ❤️
Same here. I would say that, coming out of school, I kind of had a sense of how little I knew about economics though. Through elective classes as well as through learning more about economics in my free time out of interest, and seeing the breadth and depth of topics that my degree barely touched on. For my undergrad economics degree at least, i would say it was centered on the foundational trends in micro/macroeconomics. But Michael is completely right that economics is so incredibly complex, and that we as a society don’t address its problems as if that were the case. Our global economy is an emergent system that no one person can completely comprehend, unfortunately. And I think he’s also right that we are going to be facing some economic hardships in the near future resulting from how we’ve chosen to manage that system.
@@Mavendow the only way currencies increase is from investors in the faith of the future that it will do well and make them more money rather than lose thier money, it has no bases on other currencies other than the idea that they " overshadow " them currently.... its basically a game thats betting on the fear and hopes of humans that believe that monetary value is the means of thier lives

The Lex Fridman intro script: "The following is a conversation with Mr. Smarty Smart Smart. He is one of the greatest minds in the entire world. He has PhDs from every university in the world. And he is the smartest smarty pants that pants ever smarted. He enlightened me on thoughts about AI, quantum physics, but mostly the power of love. Mr. Smart has taught me that if we could all just love each other, the universe would blossom like a flower, like a beautiful rose. And now dear friends, a conversation with my greatest friend in all the world, Mr. Smarty Smart Smart."
Love hearing 4 hours of Saylor. It just stinks that often times Lex is way off in understanding what he is trying to say or where they are in the conversation. Coulda have expanded way better on some of the things Saylor was saying. Regardless, this is not Lex’s area of expertise whatsoever so it’s all good. I’m just grateful that he got Saylor on the show
I just started listening to Lex Fridman yesterday and I am addicted. He has some of the best questions and he is so neutral. I’m just so impressed. What a great interviewer
I agree. One might suspect that he picked a different elective than Econ. He’s (like many of us) pedaling hard to keep up with Michael who carefully answers each question without condescending in the slightest.
I admire your dedication to educating your audience. We all aim for financial stability and a better life. Achieving this is possible through wise investments, frugal living, and careful budgeting. I'm grateful that I learned the importance of working hard for financial freedom at a young age.
In my opinion, making a smart investment is not only a technique for earning passive income, but also a profitable way of saving for future expenses. People who fail to make the proper judgments early in life often come to regret it later in life. Nonetheless, investing alone can be difficult and risky. As a result, I recommend obtaining an expert’s assistance. The challenge is not just watching videos and reading investing books; it is about implementing information effectively.
I wholeheartedly concur, which is why I opt to entrust the day-to-day decision-making to an investing coach. With their specialized knowledge and extensive research, it is highly unlikely for them to underperform. Their expertise is centered around harnessing the asymmetrical potential of risks while also employing measures to safeguard against unfavorable outcomes. I have been collaborating with an investment coach for more than two years

None of what these guys said. What Saylor meant was that there isnt enough time in a life to pursue just the 'good' ideas. You must pursue wholeheartedly the 'great' ideas in order to make any real change with your finite time.

Both of these are very hard in high signal to noise real world/life.

**Michael Saylor’s 10 Observations**
Amazing.. that is all i need, thank you man😊
Upgrade your world will provide for rest of points.

I studied Economics at Uni, and well, after listening to this. I feel dumb, hahaha. This was so brilliant! I am so glad that this content is available for everyone. So grateful

One of the best interviews yet. Thank you Lex for getting this valuable information put together for the public to access easily & free.
"My mistakes were always my good ideas that I enthusiastically pursued." - Saylor. This is a spot on quip.
Can someone explain this? Stupid question maybe, but I don’t quite follow.
@@P__114 yea im not sure i follow this either
It means, you thought your ideas were so good you believed it, but it turned out to be a costly mistake. But a lesson learned.
None of what these guys said. What Saylor meant was that there isnt enough time in a life to pursue just the 'good' ideas. You must pursue wholeheartedly the 'great' ideas in order to make any real change with your finite time.
@@P__114 Good Vs Great ideas. Self curate to focus on the GREAT ones. You will have thousands of merely good ones. This is job one of the creative person. Job two is to figure out how to complete the great ones relentlessly (and if it's a business idea, to back away from the big vision and figure out how to start it with the perfect minimum viable instantiation [minimum risk, MVP = minimum viable product] and grow it organically without having to ask anyone for money). Both of these are very hard in high signal to noise real world/life.
One of the best explanations of "Inflation" I have heard in my life. Another great interview Lex.
Yes, finally feel like there's a way to explain it that people can understand easily. However, I think at this point, we can see that many governments are malevolent - they want to crash their own economies to get a global bailout from the great resetters.

I love it when Saylor's analogies go full on inception. "It's like A is like B, but imagine B in C's timeline and how A compares to C. So simply put, A is basically D."
The inflation discussion was superb.
How exactly is it going to 'do good' for our economy when Bitcoin and crypto hyper inflates the American dollar until we eventually lose its status as the world reserve currency which is the only thing that keeps America on top of the world economy which includes the standard of living for every American? How exactly will it improve things by getting everyone on a digital currency which includes high volitility, has zero privacy, and is highly centralized seems how 90-plus percent of Bitcoin is owned by a handful of wallets. Not to mention if you really look into its origins it's likely controlled by the NSA. I usually really like Lex, but man this episode he really would interrupt the guest's train of thought or interesting point that he was clearly setting up for a payoff just to ask him an put of place, poorly formed question, or ask him for unnecessary clarification of terms that was usually unnecessary (people can Google it or it's obvious to most).
This is the best conversation I have ever listened to, worth every minute.

Saylor is one fascinating intelect, his understanding and values of basically everything is so intensely packed in his brain, yet he spent 4 hours talking so coherently, with no pauses or uhms. He unpacked years of learning into a fluent and approachable format where you don't need to be an economics PhD to understand these complex topics he's exploring. It's amazing that we get to pick the brain of such individuals nowaday, I fear we are taking that for granted and not taking enough of an advantage of it
really?
So pretentious and so as he, his speaking is terrible way too many words for something that is simply explained here’s a tip the government has infinite money and infinite energy work is something that humans do to be controlled by the government a literally soul killer money is a complete joke he has no clue what he’s talking about
